Moltres
- Fire Blast
- Fire Spin
- Hyper Beam
- Agility

Moltres is a rare but potent Pokemon in RBY. Despite being generally unreliable, it can easily surprise opponents with a full sweep. Its Fire Blast is the strongest special attack in the tier, 2HKOing neutral foes like Tauros and Cloyster and even scaring off Rhydon with its 30% burn chance. The other moves give Moltres a fighting chance against Fire Blast's switch-ins with recovery, most commonly Chansey, Starmie, and Alakazam. Fire Spin locks down Chansey by default and Starmie and Alakazam after Agility, possibly defeating them through brute force, though it's risky due to its 70 accuracy. Thankfully, Moltres also has access to Hyper Beam, allowing it to pick them off from much higher HP. While the accuracy of its moves holds it back, Moltres has potential to sweep in almost every game.

Moltres is a rare but potent Pokemon in RBY. Despite being generally unreliable, it can easily surprise opponents into with a full sweep. Moltres sports the hardest hitting Special move in the tier in Fire Blast, which it can use to plow through most neutral targets, including 2HKOs on Tauros and Cloyster, with a 30% burn chance attached to even scare off Rhydon. Its Fire Blast is the strongest special attack in the tier, 2HKOing neutral foes like Tauros and Cloyster and even scaring off Rhydon with its 30% burn chance. The other moves all serve the purpose of allowing Moltres a better fighting chance against Pokemon that can tank and heal up from Fire Blasts - give Moltres a fighting chance against Fire Blast's switch-ins with recovery, most commonly Chansey, Starmie, and Alakazam. Fire Spin allows Moltres to lock down Chansey, as well as the other two after an Agility, and break them by brute force if need be - though this process is usually rather risky due to Fire Spin's 70 accuracy. locks down Chansey by default and Starmie and Alakazam after Agility, possibly defeating them through brute force, though it's risky due to its 70 accuracy. Thankfully, Moltres also has access to Hyper Beam, allowing it to pick them off from much higher percentages HP. While the accuracy of its moves holds it back, Moltres has potential to sweep in almost every game it features in.
