Tauros
- Body Slam
- Hyper Beam
- Blizzard
- Earthquake / Fire Blast
Tauros is the best late-game cleaner and is mandatory on any competitive team. It's one of the fastest Pokemon around, with the few Pokemon that outspeed it being crippled by a potential Body Slam paralysis or critical hit, and as such, they can't come in safely. Because of its high Speed, Tauros has a critical hit rate of 21%, on top of its STAB Body Slam and Hyper Beam, which doesn't recharge upon getting a KO, being nearly unresisted and the fact that Normal-resistant Pokemon are handled by Tauros's coverage moves. Due to all these factors, it is incredibly difficult to switch into Tauros, though some very physically bulky Pokemon such as Cloyster and Slowbro handle it decently. It's not uncommon that games get decided by a Tauros mirror match; in which case, Fire Blast variants have the advantage because of the 30% burn chance.
