Welcome to the first iteration of the RBY Other Metagames Premier League. This thread will contain all administrative decisions regarding this tournament such as mindblowing activity decisions and the draft order. If you are spectating or participating in RBYOMPL I, you should watch this thread to stay updated throughout the season. Please do not post in this thread unless you are hosting this tournament or have permission from the hosts to post, respectively.

The 6 teams and their managers in this tournament are:

RBYOMPL will feature six teams and six slots. The tiers are as follows:
  • RBY 1v1 (best-of-7, team preview)
  • RBY Little Cup (best-of-3, Level 5, Tradebacks moves banned)
  • Nintendo Cup 1997 (best-of-3, team preview, no changing teams within a set, Cartridge Sleep Clause)
  • RBY STABmons OU (best-of-3)
  • Stadium OU (best-of-3, team preview)
  • RBY SU (best-of-3)

Tiebreaks could happen during RBYOMPL. In the event that a tiebreak does occur, a deciding factor is warranted. One tier will be voided out of the featured six tiers by !randompick. After that, the lower seed will make their selection (voided), and then the higher seed make the final pick. These will be handled case-by-case as they occur.

Howdy! For your convenience, please see the challenge commands for each tier featured in RBYOMPL below. To ensure that all games are being played with the correct rules, these challenge commands should always be used.

1v1: No challenge command, the tier can be chosen directly

Additionally, this is a reminder that NC97 will be using cartridge Sleep Clause and follows Stadium rules. No two Pokemon can be asleep at the same time. If you activate Sleep Clause at any time, you will be forced to forfeit the game. Unlike most Smogon formats, Rest does count towards Sleep Clause. This means if your opponent has even one Pokemon asleep, whether you afflicted it upon them or it was self-afflicted by Rest, putting another Pokemon to sleep via using a sleep-inducing move will activate Sleep Clause and forfeit the game.

RE: Mimic in RBY NC1997

Mimic is currently bugged on the simulator due to it causing an infinite PP glitch. Following the existing bug report from "Duplicate moves and PP behavior in Gen 1", confirms this is not intended to be in place. Mimic will be banned from [Gen 1] NC 1997 during RBYOMPL I until further update.

This tiebreaker format is being modified. For semifinals and finals, if applicable, any tie will be handled using the following tiebreaker format:
The lower-seeded team picks a tier to play.
The higher-seeded team picks a tier to play.
The lower-seeded team strikes a tier that will not be played.
The higher-seeded team strikes a tier that will not be played.
The last tier to be played is decided randomly among the two remaining tiers that were neither chosen to be played nor struck.
The winner of the tiebreaker, of course, is the first team to win two of the three selected tiers to be played.
