Thank u deeply to the hosts for reconsidering on the manager pairings and the rby community for making an uproar and bringing attention to the issue. I did not expect so many ppl to take issue with it in my stead , much less to have it addressed and so quickly. I am very grateful for the community around me and feel deeply appreciated, thank you

Hey folks, if you're interested in playing for the Glacial Articunos feel free to join our server and let us know why you deserve to be chosen. We're primarily looking for players who have experience in other tiers that are interested in learning RBY. Sabelette and I are experienced in every format in this tournament and are happy to provide teams and test games each week.

Heya, I'm pretty new to RBY as a whole but I did get 2nd in RBY UU Cup, so I'd like to believe that I can do well in a teams UU slot. I've also been learning PU on the side just so I can either play or support there. I feel like I can also learn other LTs pretty quickly if need be, OU might be a bit harder but I think i could do it. Regardless, I can build and play UU and PU to a decent degree at the very least so I'd hope to get a space on a team.

Draft me if you want to MENTALLY ANNIHILATE whoever gets paired against me. For proof of my ability to decimate the morale of the opponent, here are some examples from RBY and beyond (which totally aren't taken out of context *wink* *wink*):

"Why am I even playing classic" -DripLegend after losing to me in round 1 of BW Cup
"I felt a huge shame in me" -DiannieRatson after losing to me in week 3 of GSC Slam League
"I'm not fucking doing this" -Soda_Eesti after my Starmie committed first degree murder on her Exeggutor (see below)

I think my abilities speak for themselves. My discord is phb11677 if any managers want to inquire further.

On a more serious note, I know that I don't have as much tour success compared to others, but RBY was the format I started with here on smogon, and it's still the gen I enjoy the most. I have at least some experience with every format being played, whether it's from here, Pokemon Perfect, or RBY Fight Club. I'm willing to put in as much effort as possible to improve at both playing and building, so I hope I'm given consideration. Again, feel free to reach out either here or on discord if you're a manager who is hosting tryouts, wants more info, or anything else.

I would rather not be building 12-18 teams a week so if you are interested in playing any RBY Lower Tier and feel like you are a competent player/builder please DM me on discord (same @). I will ask for some teams that you have built then judge them then give a small teambuilding quiz (generally consisting of sending flawed LT teams and asking you to spot the flaw).

Hi,

The Tiers I have signed up for Include OU, UU, and NU.

For those who know me I mainly am a GSC NU player, which some DPP OU, GSC OU, and SV OU littered about. Lately I've been playing a lot of GSC NU in particular after having the 2nd best record in the most recent NU Team tour (NUFL) and mainly playing a large role in prepping for NUCL at the latter half of that season. Ever since hosting the RBY NU Cup I have been interested in the whole generation, OU UU and NU felt very refreshing to pick up and play, and I've always enjoyed watching teammates prep as well as watching all the games in the said RBY NU Cup. To any team I try to bring a good attitude, a strong commitment to win, and hopefully some good memories gotten through winning. I understand that I am a lot newer to RBY than most of this pool, and I am not unaware of that fact. However I do think that on any team there is an area I can contribute at the very least.

I will be reaching out as well, and I hope anyone who reads this message is having a good day, thank you.

TL;DR: New RBY player but not new to mons, made it to Randbats 1560s despite only just learning the tier in two or three weeks, ok enough UU/NU player, one of the best team supports on the site. Equally motivated to help the team win whether I start in an LT or bench and just help support from the shadows. Preference wise I'd like to play UU>NU>Rands>Ubers>=PU, but would need some team support in building.

If you want to read more about what I can bring, read the full message.

I'll start by saying that I never thought I would grow to like RBY. Even though I've been playing mons at a competitive-casual level since 2023, the stigma of the generation and how different it felt from other tiers always kept me away from it. Even when I got into GSC last year, the RBY stigma still stuck to me for whatever reason. On a whim, I pawed around on the ZU and PU ladders earlier this year for spotlight and that was enough to inspire me to join my first RBY individual when I had the time.

Playing vs. Toxin Boost in RBY NU cup and having things come down to the literal last two turns of a Bo3(granted I got lucky with one insane freeze in g3) was the most fun I ever had on the site, and the fact that Toxin was nice enough to point out the mistakes or misplays I made inspired me to keep showing up. I've gotten some decent wins here and there, grinded my way to a 1560s Randbats peak(click on link for pic), and entered a number of individuals for RBY, usually dropping off in round 3.

I won't pretend I'm the most impressive player, but anyone who knows me knows that my goal is to put the team first above all else. After some self-doubt and imposter syndrome had me take myself out of the GSCPL pool of players last year, I ended up joining - and helping test - for the Wobbuffett Village in Ubers, but ended up hopping in for some OU and PU testing here and there. Though the team lost in finals, I want it to be clear that even if I wouldn't have won a CA alongside the Wobbs, that team WAS my team and I felt the sting of that loss as much as I would've if I had been the one on the battlefield.

In a similar light, any team I get drafted to will be treated with that same level of priority and respect. If you need me to test randbats despite you slotting me in for UU, I will test randbats until I'm blue in the face to make sure our team's slot is ready to win the bo7 in 4 games straight. If you need me to slot into OU with one day's notice. even though I don't feel up to par in that tier, if I'm needed, I will be there. I'm here for two reasons: to improve my skills in RBY and to help win it all.

Even if I'm put on the bench, I can and will be an immensely valuable 3K bench with the same level of commitment to testing and discussing teams. However, in the interest of honesty: please do NOT draft me if you want a completely self-sufficient slot. I'm humble enough to admit that my weakness is in team building from scratch, and while I'm quick to understand how teams work, I will need help to make sure that I'm building a number of different styles. Almost all my "decent" results came from taking teams from replays from top players(thank you Maris Bonibell for the Moltres team that made me fall in love with UU).

Preference wise: I'd like to play UU>NU>Rands>Ubers>=PU, but in reality, I will go where I'm needed and I am happy to test in every single slot if someone needs a helping hand.

If you have any questions or want to talk to me about where you might see me fitting into your draft, don't hesitate. I'm happy to be in any slot as long as I've got some support. In return, I promise every bit of support I can offer to help push the team to victory.

BeeOrSomething & gastlies How does one try out for the pampus, just shitpost in rbycord a bunch?
please refrain from posting this weak ass stuff in my vicinity and accept the bench like how you should have the day of, this is really immature behavior coming from you and i'd only want to expect positivity to come of it after this reply sends. if you'd like to talk about it you are free to do so, i have been grinding and researching the game only to have been disregarded you, the better player, shouldn't your category of player be the more appreciative that i am managing?

Hi. Only interested in OU and Rands, I don’t play low tiers anymore outside of Slam just because that’s tradition lol

I am a better OU player than my tournament results would have you believe. Didn’t get to showcase it in ROAPL (was drafted but didn’t play) but I have confidence that I would’ve been able to slot in and do well should I have been called upon. At the very least I can promise super duper ultra turbo quantum omega scouts for OU. Will be willing to provide example documents that I’ve used in the past.

People forget that I used to be a 1600+ Rands player back in the day. Haven’t played that tier consistently in a bit but it’s very easy to get games and shake off the rust so I think I’d be a good pickup for that as well.

Thank you for your consideration :)

I will not be assisting with any slots outside of my own prep, of which I will not try hard. If that's what you expect of me, don't draft me. Thanks in advance for not drafting me. lol.
Edit, my friend told me "u forgot the 8hrs prep part", well here it is buddy

Hi, I am an up and coming RBY Ubers player, with varied degrees of success (as far as participating in RBY Fight Club OU + LT Tournaments are concerned...)

I have numerous wins under my belt with congratulations from my RBY peers on my accomplishments. I may not be well versed in the analysis aspect, I can definitely show my skills through my gameplay. RBY Ubers is by far the only tier where I can consistently build teams on, it is my comfort pick, though I can run it down on other tiers such as, OU, UU and PU. I will also mention that I have rarely ever been clean swept as putting up a fight is my main priority, if I don't win the battle, that doesn't mean to put my head down, just tells me to keep that rhythm going...

not that my opinion means too much in RBY yet but want to vouch that if you want to mentor someone to be a sleeper threat in RBY Ubers, gerbungis should be on your radar
