• Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for us to make decisions for activity calls when we can actually see what went down with scheduling.​
• If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to us or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.​
• When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.​
• If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.​
• Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, but they also contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.​
• To managers: Please send us your lineups in the same format that we used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.​

RBY OU: Laroxyl vs shiloh: i feel like this is a weird temporary fluctuation and soon enough various pendulums will swing back - it's hard to draw conclusions right now because we are once again in a bizarre cuckoo crazy meta state where top players are doing things like "i never run boltbeam chansey" or "100% of my starmies are psyblizz" which are blatantly, obviously, completely incorrect from a 'nash equilibrium' perspective, but at the same time the counter-exploitative styles to these things have not been properly developed yet (i'm a bit burned out after going all out for invitational and then spl consecutively, give me a bit i'll get it done)

RBY OU: Deezcastforms vs Justamente: Scout 2 (this is the Deezcastforms scout for the very recent RCoP, for anyone curious) was likewise relatively simple: Zapdos is fairly outrageously high at 37%, with some other trends pointing at a lot of Boom-heavy offenses compared to the mean (75% Chansey and 49% Starmie, with those usage points being taken up by high Gengar and Cloyster instead). I am looking for ideas that are solid into both Zapdos and boom offenses.

I have been informed that some people with poor reading comprehension are unhappy with me listing egalvanc and TyCarter in the same breath. I didn't think it would need clarifying, since I already said it in the original message, but egal's results are clearly better than carter's. All the same I think it is fairer to lump carter with that group rather than with the "others" at the end of the post, because of his year-long general crushing of random assorted mainers week in week out, including wins over players who will likely get to start this tournament such as Zokuru, etc across RBY Cup & other tours.

If this opinion still causes offense to your sensibilities, maybe like go see a therapist or something. Have a great day
RBY Ubers: The Strap vs Christos: ggs all, was fun to play some mickey tiers. s/o gastlies for helping my playoff prep in tiers i had 0 games on (not that it helped much)
RBY UU Bo5: Goombatower69 vs Stories: Anyone playing a non-OU tier can do the usual stuff (PM me about how you're super motivated and you went 3-1 in the most recent roa spotlight or whatever).
RBY NU Bo5: THE_CHUNGLER vs damien the genius: These are inferior Fires to Charizard in a majority of situations. I only led Moltres against Chungler, twice, to specifically snipe the Venomoth match up, because Fire Blast has strong odds to OHKO which forces it out completely... except he just stayed and got the tie lmao. Don't even remember when I loaded dog. They only really have a place either over Charizard (but Zard is pretty clearly better), or alongside him (but do you really need two fires? what match up are you really trying to punish?) so I don't think they're that great. I just very rarely felt compelled to bother with either of them, like I said in the Zard paragraph it can be appealing to dodge the stupid mindgamey mirrors by creating an asymmetry but that aside I don't really care for these guys

RBY OU: Dridri457 vs SpoiledBerries: one of the biggest things holding back many players is making overly broad assumptions about unrevealed information because they automatically rule out things that they perceive to be unviable. and then they end up losing to them because of it

you can get to spl level without needing to bother with advanced assumptions about what your opponent is hiding. if you're a chronic guesser of 5th and 6th mons, you should go play dpp as it actually matters a lot there

RBY UU Bo5: Melbelle vs Fc - FC is a really good player but I don't know how experienced he is with post PT UU. Mel however I know has been very active within this tier and I think that will grant the W.
RBY NU Bo5: torkonpeter vs Django - torkon is a friend but also despite a 3-3 record last year he had some insanely tough competition, meaning that the wins were huge and the losses were competitive. I expect him to do very well with another year of RBY under his belt.

RBY Rand Bo7: Zcarlett vs Hacker - I've seen Hacker play quite a bit before and am very impressed.

RBY UU Bo5: Goombatower69 vs Stories - full disclosure, I think this one will be entirely based on who adjusts to the new RBY UU meta first as I don't think either have ever even played this before.
RBY NU Bo5: THE_CHUNGLER vs damien the genius - bolding Chungler purely based on his previous RBY experience. Damien may be a fast learner though, and I'm really hoping to catch this one live just to see what happens.
RBY PU Bo5: Gerbungis vs Plague - Plague has PU experience but Gerb has played RBY a lot in the last few months so he'll know the mechanics a bit better even if he will need time to understand the structure of the tier; this will be made a lot easier with gastlies feeding teams but may require some growing pains. I can't in good consciousness bold Gerb right now but given 2-3 weeks to get comfortable I think we will see something very special in this slot.
RBY Rand Bo7: Cooljam Junior vs za - Cooljam Senior wouldn't win here but thankfully we have the much more experienced Jr.

RBY Ubers: Sabelette vs Amaranth - although Sab is a RBY ubers fiend and is likely technically the favorite here, my gut is telling me to pick Amaranth for week 1 and I'm not going to go against that.
RBY UU Bo5: JensenDale vs ThatOneApple - Apple has quickly made a name for himself in post-PT RBY UU, being a finalist in RBY UU Open. Jensen is overall newer to RBY and I expect that the first week or two is going to be harsh in terms of getting his sea legs. Teh and Sab feeding teams will be very helpful to him in the long run and he has no scout for Apple to exploit, but it will come down to who can click better and I see that being Apple for now.
RBY NU Bo5: Volk vs Toxin Boost - I need to stop saying this but this NU match is must see. I am very excited for this one.
RBY PU Bo5: Chloe vs ButtGallon - BG told me a while back he was very excited to play PU and I expect that to translate into a week 1 victory.
RBY Rand Bo7: tylerfitz8 vs Lady Writer - I don't know the RBY rands community super well as I only just broke into it so I'll need to wait to see more play before I can feel comfortable picking, even if it is a low consequence/fun predicts thing

RBY UU
1. Melbelle: has by far the most experience with this tier and for what its worth is also just quite strong for the pool, clear #1 here
2. ThatOneApple: obvious newcomer but quickly shown good clicks and i can personally vouch for meta knowledge here.
3. Tree69420: I think if tree takes the time to properly learn this metas ins and outs he'll do well. Wasn't a fan of any of his builds in uucl however so im cautious of the learning curve
4. Pac: unc is back after a big stink before uucl, hes behind on meta trends and ive never been a pac play superfan but this pool is fairly scarce
5.Jensendale: hes excited, that much in can promise. I think he'll pick this up fine but remains to be seen
6. Stories: I also dont think learning rby uu will prove that hard for stories tbh. Keeping her down here because its impossible to judge the heights she could reach.
7. Goombatower69: absolute wildcard of the pool, not sure what to think but im not riding this train.

RBY NU
1. Toxin boost: this guy's just nuts, placing him 1 wasnt too hard
2. Volk: Volks reputation keeps him insanely high on lists here, excited to see him play in the last full tour of this meta
3. Hammer798: maybe biased but I think hammer is going to do excellent here, his clicks got very good very fast and hes incredibly receptive to help.
4. THE_CHUNGLER: similar to hammer but hes even newer and i rate him slightly lower
5. Damien The Genius: i am admittedly less familiar but Rby nu is pretty easy to pick up, this feels safe
6. Torkonpeter: weird seeing such established players this low, what a great NU pool
7. Enigami: same as above sry

RBY PU
1.Buttgallon
Relative newcomer topping the chart mostly off being the most active and tuned into the tier by far, buttgallons play is certainly good but if he wasn't knowledge checking most of the pool he'd be lower.
2.Chloe
This isnt just because her support is excellent, Chloe has proven herself quite capable in this tier and as a player over her time ruling PU as a whole. I feel oddly confident in this high ranking
3.virae
This may be the last person in the pool who id say really knows the tier in its current form, thats a boost lol but virae is also just rather capable
4.Gerbungis
the ubers pool breathes a sigh of relief to learn Gerbungis has been imprisoned in PU, if they can pick the tier up fast they'll do well i feel. Seriously underrated clicker
5.beatsblack
Solid player, has played older versions of the tier, pretty fair middle ground player here
6.Boomp
Obviously support is off the charts but im not very keyed in on who this even is.
I may be proven wrong
7.plague
Somebody's gotta be last sorry

Overall the uu and pu pools feel thinner than the draft suggested and I expect shake-ups throughout the tour.
Keep ur eyes on those NU games tho good lord
