Re: Banned users in official team tour servers

Managers in official team tournaments should not be providing platforms and venues for permabanned users to engage with the Smogon community in their official servers. Official team tournament servers are not private chats and participating in them is essentially required for members of a team. For the sake of safety and comfort of our users, the TD team is hereby instating a new policy that prohibits permabanned users from residing within official team servers. We do not plan on installing TD's or SS or hosts in every team chat, but rather that we will follow up on reports should a permabanned user be discovered in an official team chat.

If a permabanned user is found and is not removed, then there will be consequences. This rule will begin being enforced 24 hours after it is posted in order to give managers ample time to purge any permabanned users from their servers.

This is a clarification with the above policy.

In accordance with our cross-site punishment, any user that is:

• Banned for an indefinite amount of time
• Banned for at least six months
• Tournament banned

is not allowed in any team tournament Discord for the duration of their ban/tournament ban. To be clear, a user that was year-banned but has only three months left is not allowed in a team tournament Discord until their ban expires.

Please make sure that any existing team tournament Discords and all future ones abide by this standard.
