Red Card

Most of the time, when you bring in a hazard setter like Forretress, your opponent will take this as an opening to setup. At this point, you can keep laying entry hazards (and most likely get swept), or switch to a counter. However, Red Card fixes this problem (to an extent). since Forretress already has sturdy, it doesn't need a focus sash; the default item would be leftovers, but Forretress doesn't have that many walling capabilities. This would mean Forretress isn't losing anything important when you're replacing whatever it has with Red Card. Simply switch in Forretress and start laying down hazards. If your opponent attacks, Forretress lives from Sturdy, and can at least use Stealth Rock. If your opponent switches to a sweeper, simply continue, until the sweeper attacks, and loses all it's boosts when it gets switched out by Red Card.

Unfortunantly, this does turn Forretress into a suicide setter, since it can only do it's job if it stays in, and if it stays in against a sweeper, it's sure to be KO'd. This does prove that Red Card is somewhat viable, but can it be used with other pokemon?

Doexys-D is the best user of red card, pretty much nothing can KO is outside of banded Tyranitar with crunch, so you are going to at least get up a layer of rocks and spikes, or just rocks at the very worst.

It can also be used for emergency phasing to an extent, but its better to have just leftovers and a tank / revenge killer for set up problems.

Sorry, if you're going to start a discussion thread, it needs to have more info than this. We need to know what it does and how it can be used on multiple Pokemon, not just Forretress. To how much success have you used Red Card? What else is it good for? Also, give some evidence that you've used the item yourself. If you can come up with a stronger OP, shoot me Birkal a PM. For now, I'm locking this.

If someone wants to make a thread on Red Card, or a move, or a pokemon, can we make it slightly more professional. For a good example you can look at this thread for formatting, as otherwise it just gets messy and hard to spark a proper discussion.

Any questions in regards to thread quality you can feel free to PM Birkal or another OU Mod and we will be happy to look it over if we have the time. Cheers :)
