Swampert functions as a solid RegenVest user and defensive pivot thanks to its incredible typing, valuable utility moves, and decent natural bulk. Swampert's Electric immunity gives it a niche over the other RegenVest Water-type Manaphy, letting it check Zapdos and Sandy Shocks, as well as special wallbreakers like Deoxys-S, Latios, and Gholdengo that rely on Electric-type coverage. Knock Off removes Leftovers and Assault Vest from defensive staples such as Corviknight, Great Tusk, and Manaphy, severely cutting into their longevity and helping offensive teammates break past them. It also removed Heavy-Duty Boots, crippling Desolate Land Moltres which normally can switch in to deny pivoting from Flip Turn. Stone Edge is another option to threaten Moltres immediately, as well as Zapdos, while Poison Jab hits Scream Tail and can potentially cripple walls with a poison.

Swampert fits on a large variety of teams, ranging from balance to bulky offense, where it helps pivot in frail wallbreakers like Latios, Chien-Pao, and Deoxys-S. Sampert is dependent on Assault Vest to switch into hits, so Knock Off absorbers like Great Tusk and Corviknight are good partners; these physically defensive walls also check physical attackers like Garchomp, Zamazenta, and Roaring Moon which can easily overwhelm Swampert. In exchange, Swampert can handle the aforementioned Zapdos, as well as dangerous Fire-type special attackers like Moltres and Iron Moth, although it does have to watch out for the rare Solar Beam or Energy Ball.

Swampert has many options for what to run in its last moveslot. Mirror Coat can surprise and OHKO opponents trying to overwhelm Swampert with brute force, or deal massive damage to bulkier special attackers like Scream Tail that can outlast and force out Swampert. Surf is a good option to chunk Skarmory and Great Tusk, while Ice Beam catches Landorus and Gliscor. However, these moves are rarely worth clicking over Flip Turn, so Stone Edge or Poison Jab are usually the preferred option to not get blocked by Moltres.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physical Attackers**: Swampert has mediocre uninvested physical bulk, so it is 2HKOed by physical attackers like Chien-Pao, Zamazenta, and Roaring Moon.

**Grass-type Move Users**: Due to Swampert's debilitating Grass-type weakness, it is easily OHKOed by Meowscarada and the Ogerpon Formes, as well as the rare Solar Beam or Energy Ball Moltres, Iron Moth, and Heatran.

**Knock Off**: Knock Off users like Roaring Moon, Manaphy, and Great Tusk can cripple Swampert by removing its Assault Vest, making it much easier to break past.

Swampert is one of the tier’s premier RegenVest users and defensive pivot thanks to its incredible typing and valuable utility moves. i would list solid natural bulk here too It checks almost every special attacker in the tier, notably shutting down Electric-types such as Zapdos and Sandy Shocks, as well as not being weak to Electric-type coverage from Deoxys-S, Gholdengo, and Latios, setting it apart from the other RegenVest Water-type Manaphy. Knock Off removes Rocky Helmet, Leftovers, and Assault Vest from defensive staples such as Corviknight, Great Tusk, and Manaphy, helping more offensive teammates break past them. It also removed Heavy-Duty Boots, crippling Desolate Land Moltres which normally can switch in to deny pivoting from Flip Turn. Stone Edge is another option to threaten Moltres immediately, would mention zapdos too while Mirror Coat can surprise and OHKO foes that try to break past Swampert with brute force.

Swampert is easily overwhelmed by physical attackers such as Zamazenta, Meowscarada, and Roaring Moon, so it needs backup from solid physical walls like Pecharunt and Corviknight, the latter of which appreciates Swampert’s ability to handle the aforementioned Electric-types and Fire-types like Zapdos, Iron Moth, and Moltres, and Heatran. would be a bit weird to say electric and fire types without mentioning any electric types Swampert is also dependent on Assault Vest to switch into hits, so Knock Off absorbers like Great Tusk and the aforementioned Corviknight are good partners.

Swampert has many options for what to run in its last moveslot, including Surf to chunk Corviknight Skarmory it just doesnt do enough to corv to justify mentioning it imo and Great Tusk and Ice Beam to catch Landorus-T and Gliscor. However, these moves are rarely worth clicking over Flip Turn, so Stone Edge is the preferred option to not get blocked by Moltres. Sap Sipper might seem appealing to mitigate Swampert's four times weakness, but it means Swampert has no longevity and gets easily overwhelmed by neutral attackers.

Knock Off removes Rocky Helmet, Leftovers, and Assault Vest from defensive staples such as Corviknight, Great Tusk, and Manaphy, helping more offensive teammates break past them. It also removed Heavy-Duty Boots, crippling Desolate Land Moltres which normally can switch in to deny pivoting from Flip Turn. again this sentence is a bit fluffy, the people should know what knock does so instead maybe elaborate on how knock forces progress and can impair / cripple certain mons Stone Edge is another option to threaten Moltres immediately, as well as Zapdos, while Mirror Coat can surprise and OHKO foes that try to break past Swampert with brute force. think we're missing pjab?
