The Regenerators
This team is a weatherless offensive team that benefits from the Regenerator ability, which heals 1/3 of a pokemon's health
whenever switching out. Half of the pokemon on this team have this ability, which helps me maintain offensive
and defensive pressure by constantly having healthy pokemon waiting to switch in.
It all started with Scraggy, I wanted to build a team around this monster.
I had no idea where to start, so I looked around the LC RMT archives.
Saijo had a pretty nice team, so I played with it for a while.
The team didn't really have any glaring weaknesses to entry hazards, so I replaced Staryu with Shellder, who acts as a early or late-game sweeper and can also spin if I really need it. I also made some small edits to the team to suit my playstyle.
I replaced Saijou's defensive core with a popular Regenerator core that I had battled before, Foongus and Slowpoke. Foongus takes Electric, Grass, and Dark moves aimed at Slowpoke, and Slowpoke takes Fire and Psychic moves aimed at Foongus. Their health stays high and entry hazards aren't an issue because of Regenerator.
I sadly had to part with the awesome Shell Smash Shellder because my weakness to Murkrow was too glaring. I didn't want to replace Scraggy or Slowpoke, so I tried a bulky Porygon in place of Shellder (as suggested by Furai). Porygon is great, and even though the team is a bit less offensive now, it handles threats better.

Mienfoo @ Eviolite
Regenerator
156 Atk / 196 Def / 156 Spd
Jolly
Fake Out | Knock Off | Drain Punch | U-turn
Mienfoo is the most used pokemon in the metagame, and no team gets worse with a Mienfoo on it. Mienfoo functions as a defensive pivot on my team, acting as 'glue' to keep everything together. 75% of the time I lead with this cute bastard; Fake Out and U-turn allow me to scout and easily get to an early 6-5 lead. Many people will argue that Fake Out is obsolete in today's metagame, but it is needed to break Sturdy and Sashed pokemon without Protect. Knock Off is not an offensive move, rather a utility move. Knocking Eviolites off of walls like Slowpoke, Ferroseed, and most importantly, Bronzor, makes it a lot easier for Scraggy, Shellder, and Drifloon to wallbreak and sweep. This is pretty much the standard defensive Mienfoo set, with the exception of the extra Speed EVs that help outspeed opposing Mienfoo leads. This, along with being Jolly allows Mienfoo to not only act as a pivot, but to revenge-kill late-game with Drain Punch and U-turn.
Scraggy @ Eviolite
Moxie
148 HP / 76 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SDef / 212 Spd
Jolly
Dragon Dance | Drain Punch | Crunch | Zen Headbutt
This is the one and only... the omnipresent... the living legend... Scraggy! Scraggy is the most influential pokemon in LC, as the thought of a DD Scraggy is constantly over the shoulder of a player creating a team. Let me put it bluntly: If your team does not have something to stop a Scraggy, it will not do well competitively. Scraggy will go down in history as being that one pokemon that scares the hell out of 90% of the metagame. Scraggy and Shellder both act as early/late game sweepers, with Scraggy usually being the early-game one. After one Dragon Dance, it outspeeds every pokemon not holding a Choice Scarf, and is ready to tear it up. Drain Punch / Crunch allows him to tear through weakened or unprepared teams like wet paper. Zen Headbutt is the trick up Scraggy's sleeve, his ace in the hole. Opposing Mienfoo try and stop him at +2? Nope, Zen Headbutt. Opposing Croagunk, Koffing, or Grimer try and slow him down? Nope, Zen Headbutt. Ice Punch is the popular choice for Scraggy's 4th spot because it has nice coverage, but Zen Headbutt is just absurdly effective. I chose a more bulky EV spread, and I can recover the Attack I sacrificed after one Dragon Dance. The increase in bulk is definitely noticeable, and is why this Scraggy is so successful. A Jolly nature helps with setting up Dragon Dances, and once he's at about +3, natures don't matter anymore, he's already OP. I prefer Moxie over Shed Skin, as +1 Speed is all he needs, but +1 Attack isn't enough. With Scraggy as a late-game sweeper, the opponent is usually too desperate to try inflicting status.
Porygon @ Eviolite
Trace
236 HP / 196 Def / 76 SDef
Bold
Recover | Thunder Wave | Tri Attack | Shadow Ball
Porygon has the highest BST in all of LC, and can fill many niches. My team was being torn apart by MixKrow, so Porygon came in and saved the day. With 65/70/75 defenses and an Eviolite, it can stop things like Murkrow and Misdreavus and 2-3HKO with Tri Attack and Shadow Ball. Thunder Wave cripples important threats, and with their Speed at 1/4, Porygon can outspeed and recover with Recover. Porygon's secret weapon is its ability, Trace. Trace copies the enemy's ability, so if Porygon comes in on a pokemon with Natural Cure, Regenerator, Prankster, or even Liquid Ooze, it gains the benefits of that ability. Overall, Porygon is a great pokemon and my team benefits from it in many ways. (Thanks Furai)
Drifloon @ Flying Gem
Unburden
36 HP / 200 Atk / 28 Def / 40 SAtk / 4 SDef / 200 Spd
Mild
Acrobatics | Shadow Ball | HP Fire | Destiny Bond
This is the feared AcroBlimp Drifloon set. Sometimes I doubt Drifloon's position on this team, but I always find that replacing it is a bad idea. Acrobatics is the crux of this set, and it's power is groundbreaking with a Flying Gem. Unburden activates after using it (even though PS doesn't show it in the chat! grrr) and Drifloon is now at +2. Acrobatics retains its great power without an item, and Shadow Ball provides reliable STAB. HP Fire is probably the most useful move on this team, scorching Ferroseed and Bronzor. Destiny Bond is interesting, I saw that Saijo had it on his Drifloon, and it is really, really useful (if you can figure out how it works lol). The EVs make it a mixed attacker, and it is a great cleaner, easily killing Scraggy, Mienfoo, Ferrothorn, Bronzor, and reliably killing Misdreavus, Slowpoke, etc.
Slowpoke @ Eviolite
Regenerator
116 HP / 236 Def / 36 SAtk / 116 SDef
Bold
Scald | Psychic | Slack Off | Toxic
Now we come to the defensive core of this team. SlowGus, FooPoke, whatever you call this, is really effective. The old core, Munchlax / Bronzor, seemed to struggle with mixed attackers, especially with HP Fire and Fighting moves. The new core covers each other's weaknesses, and they can both function independently, unlike BronzLax. Anyways, Slowpoke. Scald + Psychic are STABs and can cause great damage to things like Larvesta and Mienfoo. Toxic allows Slowpoke to wear down defensive pokemon like Misdreavus, and Slack Off keeps Slopwoke healthy. The EVs make Slowpoke the physical wall of the core.
Foongus @ Eviolite
Regenerator
116 HP / 236 Def / 36 SAtk / 116 SDef
Calm
Spore | Giga Drain | Clear Smog | Stun Spore
Here's Foongus, the underrated mushroom. Spore is great great great for stopping anything that's not Insomnia Murkrow. This fungus completely shuts down Scraggy (without Zen Headbutt (like mine lol)) with Clear Smog. Giga Drain is Foongus' only way of attempting offense or HP recovery. It's alright I guess, but I wish Foongus had more ways of damaging pokemon. Maybe I'll replace Stun Spore with Toxic or something. Stun Spore, by the way, is good at crippling threats. Foongus is the specially defensive wall of the team, and usually the only thing that can break through it and Slowpoke is Murkrow.
Shellder @ Eviolite
Skill Link
236 Atk / 36 Def / 196 Spd
Jolly
Shell Smash | Icicle Spear | Rock Blast | Explosion
Shellder gets my vote for the most effective Shell Smasher (Clamperl is stupid!) Skill Link is Shellder's claim to fame, other sweepers cannot break through Abra, but Shellder breaks sashes easily, with 4 more attacks after they break! I really wish Shellder was Water/Ice like Cloyster, but I guess Icicle Spear is strong enough already. Rock Blast provides additional coverage, and allows Shellder to get past more walls. One attack only needs to do 20% to OHKO, and with the 5x increased chance of critical hits, it is surprisingly easy to get past Ferroseed and Slowpoke. The last slot is purely filler, and normally it is Razor Shell or Hydro Pump to provide STAB, but I had it as Rapid Spin for a while to provide support. My team isn't particularly weak to Stealth Rocks, especially with Regenerator, so I replaced Rapid Spin with Explosion to give the opponent a nasty surprise when Shellder is at +2.
