Dear Doppleganger
is a Tiering Contributoris a Contributor to Smogon
Ting-Lu @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 29 Spe
- Spikes
- Payback
- Earthquake
- Ruination

Spikes with Assault Vest? Has AAA gone too far? RegenVest Ting-Lu differentiates itself from other RegenVest users with its behemoth HP stat and excellent bulk, making it one of the most consistent answers to most special wallbreakers. It has an oppressive matchup against Gholdengo and Psychic-types like Latios, Iron Crown, and Deoxys-S, and even neutral special attackers like Iron Moth and Zapdos struggle to make a dent. If its role as a special wall is not needed, Ting-Lu can intentionally attempt to get hit with Knock Off, opening up Spikes as a wincon while absorbing future Knock Off from Roaring Moon, Iron Treads, and Swampert. Entry hazard control options such as Corviknight and Great Tusk are quickly worn down by Ruination, letting Ting-Lu easily keep Spikes up. A Sassy nature with 29 Speed IVs lets Ting-Lu underspeed RegenVest Swampert and Primarina, denying them from safely slow pivoting into a teammate. Ting-Lu is often the backbone of bulky offense teams, where it makes full use of its incredible longevity and ability to consistently set Spikes. Desolate Land Moltres is a great partner, as it can handle Fairy- and Water-types like Scream Tail and Primarina that threaten Ting-Lu.

tbh if you could include some eye catching sentence like "Spikes with Assault Vest? Has AAA gone too far?" would be funny as fuck and draw more attention since people won't connect the dots immediately RegenVest Ting-Lu differentiates itself from other RegenVest users in AAA with its behemoth HP stat and excellent bulk, making it one of the most consistent answers to the vast majority of special wallbreakers in the tier. It has an oppressive matchup into Gholdengo and Psychic-types like Latios, Iron Crown and Deo-S, and even neutral special attackers like Iron Moth and Zapdos i think zap might not be the best mon to list here since 252spa zap does win the 1v1 if it clicks wball 3 times. realistically youll have a secondary zap answer but i just think zap could be replaced by something like molt..? but meh, your call here struggle to make a dent. If its role as a special wall is not needed, Ting-Lu can also function as an excellent Spike setter and Knock Off absorber from Roaring Moon, Iron Treads, and Swampert. id personally rephrase the previous sentence to something like, "if its role as a special walla is not needed, it can intentionally attempt to get knocked off, opening up spikes as a wincon while absorbing future knock off attempts from ...", again your call here Sassy Nature with 29 Speed IVs lets Ting-Lu underspeed slow pivots such as Corviknight, Swampert, and RegenVest Primarina, and punish the switch-in with a Ruination. Ting-Lu is often the backbone of bulky offense teams, where it makes full use of its incredible longevity and ability to consistently set Spikes. Desolate Land Moltres is a great partner, as it can handle the Fairy and Water-types like Scream Tail and Primarina that threaten Ting-Lu.
