Ting-Lu @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 29 Spe
- Spikes
- Payback
- Earthquake
- Ruination
Spikes with Assault Vest? Has AAA gone too far? RegenVest Ting-Lu differentiates itself from other RegenVest users with its behemoth HP stat and excellent bulk, making it one of the most consistent answers to most special wallbreakers. It has an oppressive matchup against Gholdengo and Psychic-types like Latios, Iron Crown, and Deoxys-S, and even neutral special attackers like Iron Moth and Zapdos struggle to make a dent. If its role as a special wall is not needed, Ting-Lu can intentionally attempt to get hit with Knock Off, opening up Spikes as a wincon while absorbing future Knock Off from Roaring Moon, Iron Treads, and Swampert. Entry hazard control options such as Corviknight and Great Tusk are quickly worn down by Ruination, letting Ting-Lu easily keep Spikes up. A Sassy nature with 29 Speed IVs lets Ting-Lu underspeed RegenVest Swampert and Primarina, denying them from safely slow pivoting into a teammate. Ting-Lu is often the backbone of bulky offense teams, where it makes full use of its incredible longevity and ability to consistently set Spikes. Desolate Land Moltres is a great partner, as it can handle Fairy- and Water-types like Scream Tail and Primarina that threaten Ting-Lu.
