Hey there! Might be my first time posting a team on here.
I know Regigigas is considered to be one of the worst legendary Pokémon, despite its high base stat total and what might be okay coverage. Thanks to Slow Start, however, Regigigas remains in very low tiers. Perhaps my team can show that it has potential.
—The team—
GAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGA (Regigigas) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Slow Start
EVs: 76 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD / 172 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Power-Up Punch
- Substitute
- Rest
What would a Regigigas team be without a Regigigas? With Power-Up-Punch and Substitute, Regigigas can try to delay the five turns of Slow Start, and boost its attack even higher. With 172 EVs in speed and a Jolly Nature, Regigigas should outspeed Ferrothorn even when Slow Start is activated, barring strange circumstances. Rest allows Regigigas to remove its Burn and Toxic, and while Rest is not the best recovery move, a Chesto Berry might certainly help. Knock Off… is Knock Off. Do I need to explain it?
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
Landorus-Therian… is Landorus-Therian. Earthquake for STAB, Knock Off for Knock Off, U-Turn for pivoting, and Stone Edge for the pesky Flying-Types. This should probably be adjusted, however.
Volcanion @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Steam Eruption
- Sludge Bomb
Some time ago, I heard that Volcanion had shot up from RU to OU, and wanted to use it. Volcanion… can vary in how effective it is. Sometimes, it can KO several Pokémon in one match. In others… perhaps not so much.
Magnezone @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Body Press
- Volt Switch
One problem I sometimes run into in OU matches is Corviknight. It has a great type combination, it is a decent wall, and so forth. Enter Magnezone. With a Focus Sash, Magnezone can take a Body Press (given that Stealth Rocks are not on my side), and try to follow up with a KO. Pesky bird…
Ferrothorn (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- Knock Off
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
I tend to run Rocky Helmet over Leftovers on Ferrothorn, but I decided to use Leftovers on this Ferrothorn. Leech Seed, Stealth Rock, Body Press, and Knock Off. It’s Ferrothorn. Ferrothorn may do Ferrothorn things.
Rillaboom (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Grassy Glide
- High Horsepower
- Knock Off
- U-turn
Perhaps one team member I am less sure of. Grassy Surge may prove greatly beneficial for Regigigas when it does not want to Rest, and if it doesn’t… Grassy Terrain recovery can still be useful. I debated about using Tapu Fini, but I believe Misty Surge would prevent Regigigas from using Rest.
Any opinions, suggestions for improvements, or so forth? Please note that I am aware that Regigigas is not a very good Pokémon, and I do not need to be reminded about that.
