Regiplume be bawsin.

Introduction
Hey everybody. Welcome to my first RMT. I've been playing Neverused for a couple of months now, and I'm still not very good at it, but whatever :/ this is one of the only successful teams I've ever made, and I'd like some advice from the NU experts. It doesn't have a solid aim in mind, but it's largely offensive, and basically tries to keep constant pressure on the opponent while wearing them down for another member of my team to clean up.

Anyway, let's get to the team!

In depth:

regirock.png

Regirock @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Stone Edge
- Drain Punch

Regirock fills vital support roles on my team. He sets up Stealth Rock, and provides Thunder Wave support, allowing the slower members of my team like Sawk to sweep. I usually lead with him; I get a solid matchup against most common leads. Cincinno, Swellow, Zangoose and the like are thunder waved, followed up by a swift drain punch / stone edge, making them a lot easier dealt with by the rest of my team. Other SR setters like Probopass and Golem are hit pretty hard by Drain Punch. All in all, I'm happy with this guy.

Misdreavus (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Taunt

Ehhhh... probably the weakest link of my team. It was the last addition, so it doesn't seem to have a proper place or anything, but it works okay I guess. What I like about this set is Taunt. Sure, Substitute blocks status, but it leaves you with mind games, like "will he attack me, or try to status me?" which I never usually win :P So Taunt renders Sporeing Amoonguss and other walls attacking me weakly, and with the Eviolite boosted defenses, I can set up more than one Nasty Plot. Shadow Ball & HP Fighting for the unresisted coverage, I would have Thunderbolt but it felt redundant on a team with Rotom.

Musharna_by_arkeis_pokemon.png

Musharna (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Signal Beam
- Moonlight

I love musharna. Her massive HP and defenses let her set up on most physical attackers with ease. The EV spread is to reach a "leftovers number" (recommended by FLCL, have no idea what it means). Calm Mind obviously for boosting. Having a Vileplume as a cleric is what really makes me like this set so much. Toxic is this thing's #1 enemy, and Aromatherapy can cure it. I much prefer it to running Heal Bell on a mono attacking set, as it means Skuntank and other dark types can basically have their way with you.

rotomspin.png

Rotom-S @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Air Slash
- Trick
- Volt Switch

IMO, Rotom is and will always be the best scarfer in NU. That magic speed tier lets him outspeed +2 Gorebyss and Scarfed Sawk and Moxie Pinsir, all very dangerous in NU and all of which can be OHKOd by the appropriate STAB move. It also has access to Volt Switch, which is a really handy scouting move to have, as well as Trick to cripple walls. The scarf lets me revenge kill all sorts of threats to my team. I love this guy, and it's hard to find a replacement for him :3

Vileplume (F) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Effect Spore
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Def / 196 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Sleep Powder
- Aromatherapy
- Giga Drain
- Synthesis

Yes, because Amoonguss is too mainstream. I mean really, there's not much that Vileplume can do that Amoonguss can't, right? It has worse defenses, but much better HP, and also has Regenerator to top it off. Spore is obviously superior to Sleep Powder, guaranteeing a pokemon is crippled for most of the game. So basically, the only thing that stops me switching them right away is the magic move Aromatherapy. And it's that good. Most of my team hate status in one way or another, whether it's a Toxic on my Musharna or a burn on my Sawk, I'll want to get rid of it. If Amoonguss would gtfo of NU, then Vileplume would really have a chance to shine. But I'm content with its niche, at the moment. :]

Sawk (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch

If there was ever an award for the most spammable move in history, it would definitely go to Close Combat. Just ask Terrakion. Seriously, it just wrecks. Luckily, everything that resists it gets hit hard by the appropriate coverage move - Ice Punch wrecks Golurk, Amoonguss and most Misdreavus, while Earthquake nails Skuntank (and Weezing, if Mold Breaker was damn released). Fire Punch is because he doesn't really need another moveslot, and the SE on Pinsir is nice.

Conclusion:
Probably the most solid team I've ever made! Although I'm sure there will be a ton of things to be improved, and I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks for reading :D

Interesting offensive team! From just a glance, it seems that you would want Musharna to be your star sweeper, with everything else racking up enough damage for it to sweep. It is with that in mind that I am making these suggestions fyi.

My first suggestion is to replace Misdreavus with 4 Attacks Absol. Here is my reasoning: you don't really need a spinblocker with just Stealth Rocks, and you need the priority. Absol's typing also helps check Ghost and Psychic types that give Musharna trouble. Normally I would recommend Skuntank, but you really don't want to risk Golurk living and beating Skuntank with Earthquake. Misdreavus isn't really that great an offensive Pokemon since it really wants some defensive investment to make Eviolite more effective.

If you really want to keep Misdreavus, then I'd recommend Golem over Regirock. You really need some way to check Haunter, and Rock Blast is a good way to do so. It doesn't hurt to have extra power and Priority either.

A change that you really should consider regardless of whether or not Musharna is your main focus would be to replace Aromatherapy on Vileplume with Sludge Bomb. One of the main reasons that Vileplume should be used is that it better offensive capabilities than Amoonguss. It also gives you a stronger STAB option that'll let you work around SubDisable Haunter and most Grass resists. Without Aromatherapy, you may want Heal Bell over Signal Beam on Musharna. If you chose to use Absol, then the loss isn't really that big of a deal since you have so many options to take down opposing Psychic types (Dark types are well handled by Sawk and Regirock). As for Sawk, I'd put Stone Edge over Fire Punch. Stone Edge is your best option against defensive Misdreavus and Weezing, while also providing great coverage with Close Combat. The only real benefit of Fire Punch is the accuracy, which may or may not matter over the power that Stone Miss provides.

Changes:

Absol>Misdreavus
Vileplume: Sludge Bomb>Aromatherapy
Musharna: Heal Bell>Signal Beam
Sawk: Stone Edge>Fire Punch

-OR-

Golem>Regirock
Sawk: Stone Edge>Fire Punch
Optional
Vileplume: Sludge Bomb>Aromatherapy
Musharna: Heal Bell>Signal Beam

Absol (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Super Luck
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Superpower
- Night Slash
- Pursuit

Golem @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast
- Sucker Punch

Hope this helps! :)

I agree with WhiteDMist's changes; they make this team a lot better. However, you could consider running Sludge Bomb over Sleep Powder instead of Aromatherapy since it helps maintain Vileplume's niche over Amoonguss. It would also let you keep Signal Beam on Musharna to hit those pesky Dark-types. Also, I'm not sure what the extra Defense EVs do on Vileplume, but you could consider moving them over to Special Defense since it needs all the bulk it can get to tank attacks from the likes of Gorebyss and Ludicolo.

Summary of changes:

Sleep Powder —> Sludge Bomb on Vileplume
[optional] Move the Defense EVs into Special Defense on Vileplume

Vileplume @ Leftovers
Trait: Effect Spore
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
- Aromatherapy

hey there,

this looks like a solid team with a good backbone. the few weaknesses that i do see can still be handled through good play and it's at that stage that replacing something just opens new holes entirely. this team is going to struggle most with swords dance samurott and rain dance ludicolo - both can set up on and threaten nearly the entire team, and you can't really stretch vileplume to be able to beat both handily. samurott can ko rotom-s and sawk with +2 ajet after a bit of residual damage, which are really your only offensive checks. there's nothing that can really be done about either except preserving as much hp as you can and playing well - they're just a disadvantageous matchup for a well-built team. you could plausibly run jolly absol to be able to revenge kill jolly samurott, but the power loss to accommodate for a single pokemon is pretty harsh. using jolly also makes it that much harder to ko ludicolo.

golurk can also give you some troubles, but primarily because regirock is completely free switch-in bait and it can come in and force you out, either setting up a sub or just eqing regirock to death. to a lesser extent, life orb torterra can do the same thing. if you find yourself struggling to deal with these threats, you might want to consider ice punch > thunder wave on regirock; if not, or if you prefer the utility from thunder wave, you can very well keep it the same. you should also try out adamant on cb sawk. there is very little that you miss out on with the drop from jolly to adamant (jolly braviary, timid gardevoir - both of whom you wouldn't have been staying in on anyway) and the power increase from jolly to adamant is insane, letting it do stuff like cleanly 2hko alomomola after sr + protect. lastly, i'd take those extra spa evs on musharna and move at least 12 to spe in order to outcreep amoonguss, so you can avoid the spore if need be and KO with psychic.

adamant > jolly on sawk

12 spe or so on mushy to outrun amoonguss

optional

jolly > adamant on absol if jolly rott is troubling you

ice punch > thunder wave on regirock if golurk / torterra becomes an issue

hope i helped a little and gl with your team!
