[OVERVIEW]

Thanks to its impressive mixed bulk and utility movepool, Registeel finds a home in the tier as one of the premier walls. Its typing has key resistances to Dragon, Fairy, and Rock, letting it stand in the way of threats like Dragalge, Sylveon, and Diancie. It also isn't completely passive; it can threaten common Fairy-types with its powerful Heavy Slam or even set up on and take out the defensive Pokemon that it walls, like Umbreon, with the devilish IronPress combination. Additionally, Registeel is a great entry hazard setter that has no issue finding opportunities to set Stealth Rock during a game. However, Registeel's typing can often be a burden, as its weaknesses are taken advantage of by common wallbreakers like Chandelure, Breloom, and Flygon. Additionally, Registeel is vulnerable to getting weakened over the course of a battle, as it relies on Leftovers as its only method of recovery. Lastly, Registeel's easy to exploit with slow and paralysis-immune Pokemon like Galarian Slowbro and Swampert that don't mind Thunder Wave, as well as Ghost-types like Hisuian Typhlosion and Chandelure.

Earthquake prevents Chandelure and Hisuian Typhlosion from walling Registeel, and it also chunks Poison-types like Alolan Muk and Dragalge. Thunder Wave is an immediate punishment to fast attackers like Infernape and Mienshao attempting to switch in on non-attacking moves. Alternatively, the IronPress combination can be used to take advantage of defensive Pokemon like Copperajah, Sylveon, and Umbreon. Tera Dragon gives Registeel useful resistances to many special attackers' strongest attacks, letting it sponge hits like Choice Specs-boosted Hydro Pump from Inteleon and Fire Blast from Chandelure in a pinch. Tera Ghost can be used to blank Fighting-type attacks from the likes of Mienshao and Toxicroak while notably blocking Rapid Spin. Tera Fairy can also be used to help against Fighting-types, additionally helping IronPress variants to check Dark-types like Brute Bonnet and Incineroar, but it's less effective against Toxicroak. Tera Water can be used to give Registeel a resistance to Water and Fire, which is useful against the likes of Basculegion, Inteleon, and Chandelure, while maintaining its resistance to Ice.

Registeel fits best on balance teams alongside other defensive Pokemon as part of a core. Vaporeon and Florges are good examples, being able to pass Wish to Registeel to keep it healthy while also having useful resistances to Fire and Fighting, respectively. Spikes setters like Quagsire and Diancie complement Registeel's Stealth Rock, wearing down opposing Pokemon more consistently. Wallbreaking beneficiaries of hazard-stacking cores that Registeel is a part of include Sylveon, which can check Fighting-types and invite in and chip down Fire-types, and Inteleon, a wallbreaker that is incredibly threatening to Ground-types and can chunk defensive Water-types. Fighting- and Fire-type checks like Talonflame, Vileplume, Vaporeon, and Diancie make for good partners, being able to handle the likes of Mienshao and Chandelure. Additionally, Tsareena and Talonflame can tank Ground-, Fighting-, and Fire-type attacks and remove entry hazards for Registeel. Fighting-types like Mienshao and Breloom appreciate the entry hazards that Registeel sets and also benefit from its ability to check common answers to them like Munkidori and Sylveon. Vileplume partners with Registeel to create a solid defensive partnership, being able to spread paralysis alongside Registeel to help out partners like Chandelure and Paldean Tauros-F.

Registeel can run a set of Iron Defense / Amnesia / Body Press / Rest with a Chesto Berry to become a dangerous sweeper that's difficult to break through, but it is quite passive while boosting, is walled by Ghost-types, and can be crippled by Trick, Encore, and Taunt.

Checks and Counters
====

**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Infernape, Chandelure, and Incineroar can easily threaten out Registeel with their super effective STAB moves; however, they don't love switching into Earthquake or Thunder Wave. Talonflame's annoying because it easily removes Registeel's Stealth Rock with Defog and can inhibit any IronPress sweeping attempts with Will-O-Wisp.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types like Swampert and Flygon can shrug off Registeel's attacks and threaten it out with Earthquake, additionally being immune to Thunder Wave.

**Fighting-types and Fighting-type Coverage**: The likes of Mienshao and Paldean Tauros-W terrify Registeel with their strong Close Combat, and other attackers like Munkidori can use Focus Blast to handle Registeel. However, none of these Pokemon want to switch into Thunder Wave.

**Passive Damage**: Registeel is vulnerable to being chipped down by entry hazards, and this is particularly noticeable when its Leftovers has been removed by Knock Off or cancelled out by burn.

[OVERVIEW]

Thanks to its impressive mixed bulk and utility movepool, Registeel finds a home in the tier as one of the premier walls. Its typing has key resistances to Dragon, Flying, Ice, and Rock, letting it stand in the way of threats like Dragalge, Noivern and Cloyster. It isn't completely passive, either; it can threaten Rock-types like Diancie with its STAB Heavy Slam or even set up on and take out the Pokemon that it checks like what? with the devilish IronPress combination. Additionally, Registeel is a great Stealth Rock entry hazard sounds better, not repetitive setter that has no issue finding opportunities to set Stealth Rock during a game. However, super effective Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-type attacks are extremely common within the tier, with the likes of Infernape, Mienshao, and Flygon able to take full advantage of Registeel's common weaknesses. < this sentence i feel needs a rewrite as it gives obvious info like x is weak to y type. i’d change this to something like. "however registeel's typing can let it down at times as it is weak to common wallbreakers like xyz (chandy, shao, flygon for example) Additionally, Registeel finds itself vulnerable to getting chipped down over the course of a battle by Spikes, (keep comma) especially so after its Leftovers, which are its as it relies on Leftovers as its only method of recovery, are removed. technically only koff removes lefties but i know what u meant here

another big point abt regi is that it always comes off as passive. it cant pivot. it cant threaten damage. the best you have is twave and that can only do so much. (ironpress sets can threaten but you have no reliable recovery + random ghost mons/ghost teras don't care about you)

Registeel is a great user of Stealth Rock due to its sizeable bulk and defensive presence that gives it free turns against the likes of Noivern, Porygon-Z, and Dragalge. not rly needed, but you could add how it checking these mons helps others Heavy Slam hits a large portion of the tier neutrally, allowing Registeel to chip away at switch-ins and threaten Diancie and Lycanroc-D. it's a normal stab attack with no slashes so no need to mention Earthquake rounds out Registeel's coverage, giving it a way to hit Poison- and Fire-types like Dragalge, Alolan Muk and Incineroar super effectively, as well as opposing Steel-types like Copperajah and Magnezone. you can keep the other mentions BUT i want chandy and zone listed first and stressed more than the others as that's why regi runs eq so it doesn’t auto lose (eq has like an 80% chance to 2hko chandy, so it’s a good punish) Thunder Wave is an immediate punish to fast attackers like Infernape and Mienshao attempting to switch in safely. Alternatively, the combination of Body Press and Iron Defense can be used to take advantage of more defensive Pokemon like Copperajah, Tsareena, and Umbreon and lets it check setup sweepers like further reduce Registeel's passivity, turning the likes of non-Tera Ghost Cloyster in a pinch. into an easy target for set up and allowing it to beat bulky Fighting-weak Pokemon like Rhyperior and Copperajah one-on-one. if anything, having to set up makes you more passive, but it has a payoff. also, you don't check setup sweepers amazingly but for something like cloy you can if the team needs it. Clear Body allows Registeel to bypass Intimidate from Incineroar and Krookodile while it hits them on the switch-in. it's the only good ability it truly has, so there’s no need explaining it as it isn’t slashes either or vital to its role. Tera Dragon gives Registeel useful resistances to Electric-, and Fire-type attacks many special attackers' strongest attacks, letting it sponge hits from the likes of Thundurus Choice Specs-boosted Hydro Pump from Inteleon and Fire Blast from Chandelure in a pinch. Tera Ghost can be used to blank Fighting-type attacks from the likes of Mienshao, while also notably blocking Rapid Spin, synergizing with Registeel's Stealth Rock. Tera Fairy can also be used to help against Fighting-types, additionally helping IronPress variants to check Dark-types like Krookodile, Brute Bonnet, and Incineroar. Tera Water can be used to handle Feraligatr, giving it a Water and Fire resistance while maintaining its resistance to Ice.

Registeel fits best on balanced teams alongside other defensive Pokemon as part of a core. like who exactly? ex: maybe vapo because of wish + fire-resistant or sylv/florges because of wish + fight-resistant or tsar because of hazard clearer + ground-resistant Spikes setters like Gastrodon Quagsire, Diancie, and Mew can complement Registeel's Stealth Rock, wearing down opposing Pokemon more consistently. i feel quag pairs better than gastro because of phys wall + special wall n then i added dia which also helps vs chandy.

also with this hazard stack mention happening i’d add on wallbreakers regi benefits from like sylv who checks fights and can dent fires, inteleon who deletes grounds and can chip away at waters, and lycandusk who heavily pressures fire types while chipping down grounds

Fighting- and Fire-type checks like Noivern and Talonflame, Vileplume, Vaporeon, and Diancie make for good partners, being able to handle the likes of Mienshao and Infernape Chandelure. noiv is a pretty weak fight resist, do i added more + chandy is a bigger threat overall compared to ape Additionally, Tsareena, Talonflame, and Noivern work as Ground-, Fighting-, and Fire-type resists, respectively, that they can remove entry hazards Spikes from the field should it be necessary, preventing Registeel from becoming overwhelmed by them. Mienshao appreciates that Registeel can check the Flying-types that it invites in, and in return, Mienshao can remove Heavy-Duty Boots from the likes of Noivern and Talonflame as they come in via Knock Off, opening them up to damage from Registeel's Stealth Rock. out of all the weaknesses you could have chosen from shao, i felt you chose the weakest example as only 3-4 mons use it (talon, torn [but that's forced on rain], oricorio-e [but that sometimes uses rev dance too], and noiv [who usually prefers to run something else]) and you fail to do significant damage to talon the most common. to remedy this i’d reword it to talk about all fights and how they appreciate something to check sylv/dia/munki/mew

mention its combo with plume as a strong defensive backbone for teams + possible paraspam with twave and stun spore, respectively, helping out gallade/chandy/krook

also, with how much of a momentum sink it can be add a part on that pivots that matchup well into common switch-ins can help circumvent it like flip turn galge for shao, u-turn tsar for krook, and flip turn pert or vapo for both ape and incin

Registeel can run a set of Iron Defense / Amnesia / Body Press / Rest with a Chesto Berry to become a dangerous win condition that's difficult to break through, but it becomes quite passive while boosting, is walled by Ghost-types, and can be crippled by Trick, Encore, and Taunt.

Rest can be used to give Registeel a form of recovery, but this can open up a lot of free set-up opportunities for opposing Pokemon.

However, none of these Pokemon want to switch into Thunder Wave whatsoever.

**Passive Damage**: Registeel is vulnerable to being chipped down by entry hazards Spikes, and this is particularly noticeable when its Leftovers have been removed by Knock Off or cancelled out by burn.

Lastly, Registeel's passivity can prove to be a big issue; the lack of damage that it can output is somewhat mitigated by Thunder Wave and Iron Defense-boosted Body Presses, we don't pluralize moves which makes it sounds weird sometimes (if you and if you don't) but what can you do but slow and paralysis-immune Pokemon don't care about Thunder Wave and Ghost-types like Basculegion and Chandelure can easily blank IronPress variants.

Earthquake rounds out Registeel's coverage, giving it a way to hit Steel- and Fire-types like Magnezone, Copperajah, Chandelure, and Incineroar super effectively, as well as Poison-types like Alolan Muk and Dragalge. Magnezone and Chandelure are particularly important examples, as Earthquake can consistently 2HKO them. it turns out eq doesnt 2hko chandy always (mb) and if i remove copper above i believe the sentence fits my requirements Thunder Wave is an immediate punish to fast attackers like Infernape and Mienshao attempting to switch in safely. Alternatively, the combination of Body Press and Iron Defense can be used to take advantage of more defensive Pokemon like Copperajah, Tsareena, and Umbreon and lets it check setup sweepers like non-Tera Ghost Cloyster in a pinch. Fighting- and Fire-type checks like Talonflame, Vileplume, Vaporeon, and Diancie make for good partners, being able to handle the likes of Mienshao and Chandelure. Additionally, Tsareena, Talonflame, and Noivern can resist Ground-, Fighting-, and Fire-type attacks, respectively, and they can remove entry hazards for Registeel. Fighting-types like Mienshao and Gallade appreciate the entry hazards that Registeel sets, and also benefit from Registeel's ability to check common answers to them like Sylveon and Munkidori and Sylveon (munki has a worse time vs gallade, small change though). Vileplume partners with Registeel to create a solid defensive partnership, being able to spread paralysis alongside Registeel to help out against the likes of partners like Krookodile, Chandelure, and Gallade. Registeel can be quite a drain on momentum, so pivots like Flip Turn Dragalge, U-turn Tsareena, and Swampert, and U-turn Tsareena reworded to keep clear + u-turn is not too common on tsar so i kept it + moved it last to avoid confusion can help out against Mienshao, Krookodile, and Fire-types like Infernape and Incineroar, and Krookodile respectively.

I could have sworn I changed that IronPress sentence but something weird probably happened to it because I’m on my phone. All good now though!

oh sorry didnt get notification for it, i removed banned pokemon but you should reassign it anyway since I havent been keeping up with NU new shifts Rabia

Only like 1 change, everything else looks good. Make sure to remove Gallade from the teammates section.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Infernape, Chandelure, and Incineroar can easily threaten out Registeel with their super effective STAB moves; however, they don't love switching into Earthquake or Thunder Wave. I would include Talonflame here bc it removes Regi's hazards for free, and can burn it, stopping potential IDPress Sweeps.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types like Swampert and Flygon can shrug off Registeel's attacks and threaten it out with Earthquake, additionally being immune to Thunder Wave.

**Fighting-types and Fighting-type Coverage**: The likes of Mienshao and Gallade terrify Registeel with their strong Close Combat and Sacred Sword, and other attackers like Munkidori can use Focus Blast to handle Registeel. However, none of these Pokemon want to switch into Thunder Wave. Swap Gallade mention with Water Tauros or Breloom (or both).

**Passive Damage**: Registeel is vulnerable to being chipped down by entry hazards, and this is particularly noticeable when its Leftovers has been removed by Knock Off or cancelled out by burn.
