this wont be the main point of this post but this is a grossly disproportionate response. i woudl describe this thread as 'hey this slightly annoying thing is happening can we mitigate this in some way'. which i think we can agree is reasonable and does not seem very 'moving mountains to maintain something that clearly doesn't work'. perhaps you have some other issue with game discussion in which case you should go make your own thread.
anyway so my main point is that perhaps giving players some form of incentive to play these games other than smogtours (whether positive [i.e. its 'nicer' in some way to play on main etc than smogtours for chill cc1v1 gaming] or negative [its completely removed from smogtours which seems a little much/some form of punishment]). idk what this looks like but i suspect it should start by asking the ppl doing this why theyre doing it on smogtours as opposed to main.
otherwise i wouldnt mind a randomized not randomized cutoff (or maybe specifically cg randbats is still shown? idk i imagine the randbats community will have some thoughts on this that are more coherent than mine and know what formats would have tournament games played on smogtours and should be shown) since that seems like a reasonable bar to set for the formats ppl joke around with versus the ones for real tournaments
