Requiem of Spirit - An OU SandStorm Team

Introduction

I made this team back when OoT3D came out, and I once again fell in love with the beautiful game. All changes are welcome (don’t mind the nicknames, I can change them around if needed). I meant to post it back then but I never did. I have some more time now so here it is. Changes in Bold

In Depth
Gannondorf (Tyranitar) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 64 SAtk / 192 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch
- Fire Blast
- Superpower

MixTar is, well, I can’t really describe it. I tried many different Tyranitar sets and this one fit the team the best with its high special defense as well as its ability to take down some of the threats to this team, such as Latias. Other than that he sets up stealth rocks and then is saved for any later weather summoning.

Link (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Choice Band Scizor is what he is. Namely, a beast. He is the first part of my ZorTom core (that’s right, I just made that up. On the spot. Don’t even tell me its already been done, cause I just did it). Anyway it’s a normal set, bullet punch for priority, u-turn for scouting, superpower for steel types, and pursuit for psychics and ghosts who are crazy enough to attempt escape

Epona (Terrakion) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

Double Dance Terrakion is my main sweeper. Depending on what I see in team preview, I’ll change what boost I use. He can come in on lots of neutral special attacks because of the boost to his special defense with the sandstorm.

Farore'sWind (Celebi) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Leech Seed
- Recover

I have tried so many sets with this Celebi, you wouldn’t believe it. Nasty Polt, Calm Mind, Tinkerbell, and I finally decided on defensive. This thing helps counter rain as well as opposing Terrakion and other physical attacking pokemon.

Nayru'sLove (Reuniclus) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast

When I was making this team, I noticed a huge weakness to stall, so I added the jelly baby pokemon to stop that (fun fact, the term jelly baby is a reference to Doctor Who. Amazing how its in so many analysis’s of Reuniclus). Anyway, Reuniclus also functions as a secondary sweeper in case Terrakion takes an arrow to… where ever his knee is supposed to be (seriously is he wearing sandals).

Din's Fire (Rotom-W) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Trick
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Rotom-W concludes my ZorTom core (it actually does sound kinda beast), as well as my team. Volt Switch allows for good scouting, Hydro Pump for STAB, Trick is good for stopping sweepers and pokemon holding eviolite, such as Chansey. Hidden Power Ice is used for Dragonite, as well as any grass types at low health.

Conclusion

Thanks for reading, post any suggestions. Remember, I don’t care if you change around the pokemon in your suggestions, I can change the nicknames around so they fit the theme.

Hi. This is a very nice and solid sand team, though quite standard, to be honest. I don't see many crucial changes that you have to make, as you have pretty much everything covered that I can think of at the moment. However, I do have a few suggestions.

My first suggestion is that you put Earth Power or Psychic in on Celebi over Leech Seed, and change Recover to Nasty Plot, giving you a better fighting chance against rain. Earthpower over Leech Seed to nail Heatrans, and Psychics lets you KO Dragonites that have below 60% if you have +2. Nasty Plot since Gigadrain already gives you a source of recovery, and lets you pose as a more offensive threat against rain teams. You can also try a more offensive EV spread with 220 HP / 252 SAtk / 36 Spd.

On Reuniclius, since you have a bulkier spread, you can try Life Orb over Leftovers, as you already have Recover.
