Reshiram Based Team (First RMT and Thread)

Hello people, this is my first RMT! I built this team around Reshiram because one day I just wanted to use it. It's a very flawed team which is why I am posting this thread. Any help would be appreciated.

In depth analysis:

reshiram.png

Reshiram @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Turboblaze
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Blue Flare
- Draco Meteor
- Earth Power
- Dragon Pulse
The Pokemon my team was built around. Reshiram is a Pokemon that I felt like using and it really hasn't disappointed me. Blue Flare under the sun hits like a truck, and with Choice Scarf I can outspeed things like Mega Mewtwo forms and Mega Gengar. Draco Meteor lets me hit things like Kyogre on a predicted switch or just hit hard without sun. Earth Power is just there to give this thing four moves, so any suggestions for a replacement to Earth Power would be appreciated. Dragon Pulse is there for a consistent STAB if there's no reason to Blue Flare late-game. Reshiram works as a revenge killer and a wallbreaker, which is nice because I don't have to cram multiple roles into one team.
groudon.png

Groudon @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Thunder Wave
Groudon is here to set up sun so Reshiram and Ho-oh can fire off nukes with their STAB. It has a Heat Rock so that sun can last longer, meaning more time to spam Blue Flare and Sacred Fire. I opted for a physically defensive set so that I wouldn't have to have something else as a check to e-killer. I have Thunder Wave there to cripple things, but I've been thinking about running Stone Edge instead for Yveltal. Stealth Rock is there despite me having Defog because you can always set them back up and they can provide crucial damage for my other mons to KO things. Roar is just there as a staple to the set, it allows Groudon to not be set up bait for e-killer or Xerneas given the right opportunity.
hooh.png

Ho-Oh @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 52 Atk / 208 Spd
Careful Nature
- Substitute
- Sacred Fire
- Brave Bird
- Roost
Ho-oh is my second sun abuser. The reason behind running a sub set is because I wanted a good check to Xerneas. Sacred Fire and Brave Bird are pretty standard on any Ho-oh set, obviously being the STABs of choice, and Sacred Fire gets a nice boost from the sun. Substitute is there to put pressure on the opponents team by having a threat behind a sub. Roost is there for reliable recovery because Substitute really wears Ho-oh down, especially if they have Stealth Rocks, though usually I don't switch it in if they have rocks on their team until they're gone.
palkia.png

Palkia @ Lustrous Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Spacial Rend
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder
Palkia is the glue to my team. Without Palkia, Kyogre could just run right through this team. Palkia can benefit from sun because of Fire Blast. Palkia is also there to abuse the rain that opposing Kyogre provide, while also being a nice check to Kyogre. I opted for the Lustrous Orb set because I didn't know any other set that could properly fit my team. Thunder is there just for Kyogre, while Spacial Rend and Hydro Pump get a nice boots from Lustrous Orb. Overall, Palkia can really save this team from falling apart at the huge hands of Kyogre.
arceus-ghost.png

Arceus @ Spooky Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Force
- Earthquake
This is pretty much my set up sweeper. Ghost e-killer is definitely one of the most prominent threats out there imo. This is a standard e-killer set that allows me to apply offensive pressure late game. Please do tell me if my EV spread is flawed because I'm unsure what to run on this. Shadow Force is used over Shadow Claw because it does hit harder and helps play around Aegislash. Shadow Force also OHKO's spdef Ferrothorn iirc. Earthquake hits mons like Heatran, Arceus-Steel, and Arceus-Rock for good damage. Extremespeed and Swords Dance are what make e-killer itself, so I shouldn't have to explain too much there except for the fact that Extremespeed does help my team with priority issues. Opted for Adamant over Jolly since most e-killers are normal so I can afford to since I barely ever encounter Ghosteus anymore. Overall Ghosteus really comes in handy late-game.
scizor-mega.png

Scizor (M) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Defog
The final member of my team, Mega-Scizor. This was originally Mega-Gengar until I realized that my team didn't have any form of hazard removal, and a secondary Xerneas/e-killer check would come in handy. I wanted this to actually be an e-killer check, so I put Superpower. I don't know where to fit Roost on this set, so help on that would be awesome. U-turn is probably the most expendable move of the set, nonetheless it provides momentum for my team as Mega-Scizor is fairly slow. Bullet Punch is what makes Mega-Scizor a decent Xerneas check, while Defog is there for hazard removal.
=============================================================================

Threatlist: Ho-oh - I really have no true switch-in to Ho-oh, so it really troubles my team a lot
Kyogre - If Palkia is dead, it's hard for my team to play around Kyogre, really big problem tbh
Xerneas - Usually Ho-oh and Scizor can discourage this thing from setting up, which is nice
Arceus-Normal - Haven't come across one with this team yet, which is surprising since I'm currently 1605 on the ladder, but I have Scizor and Groudon for it, though I really don't know how my team does against it because I haven't encountered it yet.
MMY - Could be a problem if it has Fire Blast, but usually Ho-oh or Reshiram can kill it so meh
====================================================================
Previous Members: e-killer arceus normal, changed to e-killer arceus ghost

Welp, hope you guys can make some good suggestions to fix up this team, as it's pretty flawed! Thanks for actually reading this RMT if you did lol.

EDIT: If you tell me to replace Reshiram, there are very high chances that I won't so pls don't tell me to do that. .-.

The only thing that is super bad is AV Ho-oh. Run like either Choice Band (if you want to play it more offensively) (sleep talk>punishment on that) or Physically defensive (roost+sub>eq+punish) (this plays more defensively giving you a better switchin to xern I guess as well as opposing ho-ohs). Ekiller should run max speed jolly if you're using life orb. I'm tempted to suggest shadow claw>overheat just because your team is so fire-heavy anyway that anything it blasts is basically a free switch anyway, and it hits ghostceus hard. I don't really wanna suggest more because I don't know what else is the best route (blaziken>reshiram would work fantastically but that changes the dimension of the build; gira-O might be a better defogger than scizor, and with ekiller+ho-oh you're not too weak to xern really to afford that, but 2 dragons with only that is still dubious, etc.) hopefully someone better than me can elaborate on the stuff I bracketed and suggest what is best. Also ghostceus>ekiller might be cool if you stick with scizor. But yeah listen to the first stuff, hopefully someone can discuss the other things i mentioned. I've definitely seen worse teams in this forum.

Hi there. Cool team, I don't see much Ram teams in the current meta. Anyways quick rate since I have to go
  • Quirks and how to solve them:
    • 382.png
Specs Ogre still demolishes your team because specs thunder still does a shit ton to offensive palkia, so I suggest Assault Vest on Palkia > Orb
    • 250.png
Ho-Oh is a big ass threat to this team, I recommend trying out Impish 248/252 Landorus-T over either Reshiram (sorry but it's really the weakest link, if you don't want to replace it I understand, I've built around a mon before too) or over Scizor mega, however as a reminder, Xerneas rapes this team if you keep Reshiram and replace Scizor
        • Your own Ho-oH- do what Piex said :]
    • 643.png
Stone Edge > Earth Power on Reshiram
if you decide to keep it, the reasoning for this is because you really don't use this at all in ubers and it helps weakening Ho-Oh
      • 0- Atk Turboblaze Reshiram Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Ho-Oh: 332-392 (79.8 - 94.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

      • 0- Atk Turboblaze Reshiram Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Ho-Oh: 236-280 (56.8 - 67.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Although I don't have a lot of safe switch-ins to Ho-oh, I don't feel the need to run lando just because once Groudon sets up sun at least twice he's pretty much done his job so I can just sac that. Definitely will take the other suggestions though. I also don't feel comfortable getting rid of Resihram, even if it's the weakest link because I did build around it. Also, if I got rid of Reshiram for Lando then my team would be pretty reliant on Palkia, if it wasn't already. Thanks for the rate though, definitely did put Stone Edge over ep on Reshiram!

If you insist on using Reshiram, change Earth Power to Stone Edge (you said you would but I don't know if you actually did), Heatran is a lot less important than Ho-Oh. That Ghostceus set is giant Extremekiller bait too, and many Extremekillers have started running Overheat to break Scizor so it's nice to have a check if you can not get Rocks out of the way for Ho-Oh. Also, try running SpDef Palkia (RestTalk with Toxic and Surf) because AV Palkia is a really unreliable Kyogre counter (Thundering you on the switch is already a 30% chance for you to lose)

Yeah but the speed at which the team is designed to play AVkia is perfectly fine. SpDef works lovely on full stall but when you're using sun offense like this AVkia does the job you need it to.

Hey iliekmudkipz123456789,

Nice team. Sun offense is pretty cool imo. Most people have already nailed out some of the major flaws, like Ho-Oh and stuff. You really should have encountered Ekiller at this point, Scizor and Groudon are good checks, if it really troubles (which it shouldn't) you then a CM Ghostceus can work to check it with WoW while still setting up.

Otherwise, the lack of a fairy is mildly problematic- Offensive Palkia can be dangerous and Yveltal is also a threat.

Sorry for the short rate, but most people have said all the stuff. I'm not sure I agree with Lando-T > Reshiram since it overlaps with Groudon a lot though.

Good luck!
