ORAS Ubers RestTalk P-Kyogre? You must be joking, RIGHT?

Hello everybody! I am new to this website, but I have been playing the meta for over a year, and one of the things I have enjoyed the most is ORAS Ubers. I've fallen in love with the Primals, they are so much fun! (Although Primal Groudon is FAR too overused, I use it anyway, because it is pretty much awesome.) This is my first RMT as well as my first ever post so cut som- actually, I need some intense criticism on my team, because I want it to ladder further then it is right now! I decided to leave my big ol' lava god out of this team, because I wanted to use my favourite whale instead, Primal Kyogre!

Beluga (Kyogre-Primal) @ Blue Orb
Ability: Primordial Sea
EVs: 242 HP / 252 Def / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Roar
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

This set is made to be a great way of dealing with Darkrai, and it has a tad bit of speed to help outspeed bulky Primal Groudons, so you can roar them out. It can bulk out demanding hits from both the physical and special side, also making this a good mon to tank Mega Diancie's onslaught.

Next of all, I wanted a mon that can wield Stealth Rock and bulk the hits that Beluga cannot take. I didn't feel to confident with any of the Pokemon in the Uber teir, so I scrolled down to the OU Section, and just like magic, I found the perfect pokemon staring at me with his spiky face. You all "love" him in OU, and he does work in Ubers too, it's Ferrothorn!

Russian Salad (Ferrothorn) @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Gyro Ball
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Stealth Rock

I just used the standard Smogon set for this mon because I felt like it worked best in partnership with Kyogre. They are a match made in heaven, Kyogre's Electric, and Grass weakness covered by Ferrothorn, and Ferro's big Fire Weakness is covered by Kyogre, and Kyogre can take any fighting move decently anyway. Ferrothorn has the ability to set up the vital Stealth Rock, and Gyro Ball + Power Whip is pretty good coverage against many mons in the teir, and makes this guy my man when Primal Kyogre or Scarfed/Defensive Xerneas is farting around on the opposing team, and I can switch Kyogre or other members of the team into Close Combats/Focus Blasts if necessary, because you will see Fighting is a well covered typing on this team!

Next of all, I wanted a big request, which I thought I needed multiple team slots to cover, I needed something to hit hard on the special side, have hazard removal, and to have nice bulk. I didn't need more then one team slot to cover all this, as I remembered that Soul Dew was a thing in Ubers nowadays. This drove me to pick my 3rd team member, Latias!

Enigma (Latias) (F) @ Soul Dew
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 192 HP / 64 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Defog

latias.gif

Latias functions as a great defogger, with crazy special bulk + special attack, it can really still hurt even with not too much special attack! After messing around a little on damage calcs, I decided on 192 HP EVS to narrowly evade the 3HKO from an offensive Primal Kyogre's Ice Beam, and that alone is a feat. A base 180 special attack Ice Beam, and it eats it up like Burger King? That's outright amazing in my eyes.
252+ SpA Kyogre Ice Beam vs. +1 192 HP / 0 SpD Latias: 128-152 (36.6 - 43.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO (Using a +1 gives the same boost as Soul Dew.)

Then, I realised that a lot of stuff walls Latias, like Steel Types and Defensive Xerneas, so I decided to bring a mon I have never used before at all into play, to beat the things Latias cannot. May I present to you, the powerhouse, the monster, The Babadook..... Mega Gengar!

Babadook (Gengar-Mega) (M) @ Gengarite
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Focus Blast
- Taunt
- Destiny Bond

gengar-mega.gif

This set hits the steel types Latias cannot, and hits hard generally with STAB Sludge Bomb anyway, and I have Taunt loaded up in the back to make Lugia unable to set up,as well as others, and Destiny Bond is there because that can make it always get a kill if it's fodder in a match, depending on the situation. Mega Gengar has crazy special attack, and really nice speed to mix with it, and with an amazing ability in the loadout, it's a very potent threat, and functions really well with Latias hitting what it cannot, which isn't much.

Then, I needed some physical power. I needed something that hit's REALLY HARD, and makes my Defog even more worth it. I decided upon one of my favourite pokemon to use in Ubers, and that is KFC CHIKIN Ho-Oh!

Helmaroc (Ho-Oh) @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Sacred Fire
- Earthquake
- Roost

latest

Ho-Oh hits so damn hard with its beastly attack. Although it is fairly slow, it's damage output is immense, and at some times can be really difficult to switch into, because with that attack stat it's not a nice thing to go up against, and can clean up late game. Awesome coverage with Flying/Fire/Ground, and it's crazy powerful. I wanted to go for a Choice Band set, but the Life Orb adores the Regenerator, and also means it can switch into rocks more times then those with crippling weaknesses to rocks.

Finally, I wanted something fast and has a switching move. I really enjoy using U-Turn or Volt Switch, I don't know why, but it really makes me feel more relaxed if I have a switch user on the team. After a bit of intense chin-scratching, I went for the damn overused mon in OU, Landorus-Therian.

Calrissian (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Superpower

Sprxym645T.gif

Landorus-T is my main lead, I can U-Turn out of any situation I don't like and I can hit hard with that meaty 145 attack stat. Plus, Intimidate is a super-useful ability in Ubers, mean the insane hard hitters cannot hit so damn hard. U-Turn because it's U-Turn, Stone Edge to hit Ho Oh, Lugia, Rayquaza, and Megamence, Superpower to hit Kangaskhan, Arceus Dark, Ekiller Arceus, Ferrothorn, Dialga and others. It's got that lovely coverage, being able to revenge kill many things in the teir, with less weakening needed then other scarfers would require to pick them off.

Overall, I really enjoy using this team, I haven't used it too often however, because I mainly ladder in the lower teirs, and I am at a fairly low score of 1326, but I have hit a high with this team at around 1444, but then I decided to test a different team, and you can tell how well that went, judging by the drop. Anywhom, feedback, no matter how harsh as long you know what you are talking about, is needed, so I can hit 1500 and above ;O

Here is the Importable so you can play with this team yourself:

I actually kind of like this team, it seems to be a bulky offense/balance team which works well. However, I would just like to tweak a few things.

RestTalk POgre, while it seems decent at first, doesn't work too well IMO as even with Roar Primal Groudon can keep coming in on you, which can be an even bigger problem if you don't have rocks up, seeing as how Ferrothorn doesn't usually lead. In addition, there's only a 1/3 chance of pulling Roar from your moves, while the other two don't even do anything and either force you out or force you to Rest again. That said, you do have a decent PDon check in Lando-T, although if it's the Lava Plume variant it could cause some trouble. You might want to look into the standard Sleep Talk+3 attacks POgre, as it still functions as a solid sleep absorber while not being complete deadweight against PDon with Ice Beam. You could adjust the EVs to your liking, but the standard spread is 172 HP/252 SAtk/84 Spe with a Modest Nature.
This is also a personal preference as you have Ferrothorn, but you might want to look into Protect over Taunt on Mega Gengar. I don't really think Taunt is as good this gen, and Protect gives you the benefit of being able to Mega on EKiller, as well as scout for moves. You really don't need this, seeing as you do have two checks in Ferro and Lando, but you might find yourself wanting to save Ferro for emergency checking Xerneas. (Note that Taunt does prevent Xerneas from Geomancying on you, but only if you have Mega Gengar out.)

Just some stuff to think about, I personally think that it's a solid PDon/Arceusless team and you just have to ladder more in order to get that higher ELO.
