[SET COMMENTS]
Thanks to Levitate, its decent physical bulk and access to tools like Will-O-Wisp and Pain Split, Rotom-W is the premier physical wall for Electric teams, holding its ground against most Ground physical sweepers such as Mamoswine and Excadrill. Will-O-Wisp is the crux of this set, virtually doubling its defensive bulk against afflicted foes, and is thus crucial to handle sweepers like Barraskewda, Roaring Moon, and Dragon Dance Dragonite. Hydro Pump threatens Ground-type Pokemon that Electric teams would otherwise struggle against, such as Great Tusk, Gliscor, and Mamoswine. Volt Switch allows Rotom-W's more threatening wallbreaking teammates to come in more easily. Pain Split is Rotom-W's best option to heal itself and helps it to weaken defensive foes it would have trouble to damage otherwise like Hisuian Goodra, Archaludon, and Blissey.
As Rotom-W may lack recovery due to Pain Split mechanism, pairing it with a dual screens setter like Regieleki is advised. Thanks to its blitzing speed, Regieleki can safely set screens before the opponent can act and can also perform as great spinner to keep Stealth Rocks away while pivoting on Rotom-W with Volt Switch to avoid Ground moves, which allows Rotom-W to better handle Roaring Moon and Choice Band Dragonite. Zapdos forms also a potent defensive core with Rotom-W, taking care of special attackers such as Iron Valiant and Gholdengo, while Rotom-W handles physical attackers like Iron Hands and Mamoswine. Assault Vest Iron Hands is another prominent partner which helps tremendously in the Dragon matchup by addressing Choice Specs Dragapult and Raging Bolt. Sandy Shocks can set up both Stealth Rocks and Spikes to weaken the opposing team and can also act as a great anti-sun sweeper in the Fire matchup by making use of Protosynthesis speed and its access to Power Gem and Earth Power. With the Will-O-Wisp support from Rotom-W, Raging Bolt can leverage its great bulk and power to muscle through types such as Fighting and Dark. Assault Vest Magnezone is another option to improve the Dragon and Fairy matchups by addressing directly Latios, Flutter Mane, and Hatterene, which would be otherwise hard to deal with.
