revised team

i'm trying not to use standards. not sure about evs yet

togekiss@lefties
calm

-sub
-bp
-wish
-airslash

i hear this thing is durable

snorlax@lefties
sassy

-pursuit/rest/sleeptalk
-fireblast/rest
-eq
-return

i'm leaning toward an all attacking set with sleeptalk cause togekiss supports with wish.

rhysuperior@lefties
adamant

-sub
-sd
-rockslide
-eq

standard. i built this team just for this fatass.

claydol@lefties
bold

-stealthrock
-rapidspin
-psychic/icebeam
-shadowball

shadowball for alakazam. i like psychic better for the heracross switch in, but icebeam>gablias

lefia@lefties
jolly, max speed

-sd
-bp
-leafblade
-grasswhistle/aerialace/quickattack

grasswhistle is always nice. aerial ace for hera. qa for endrev lucario, which scares me. team's cornerstone

gyarados@cb
adamant, max att, lots of hp and def

-waterfall
-ice fang
-eq
-stone edge

obvious hera problem. togekiss and gyara sort of take care of that. i'm out of the loop and can;t spot any other glaring weaknesses except maybe schemers. i;d appreciate some help :B

Gyarados isn't really a Heracross counter if it isn't EVed properly or equipped with the right item. 383 Attack Heracross's CBed IF/MH does 30-36% to 128HP/128Def (essentially what you're proposing) Gyarados after the Intimidate, which is problematic because you don't have Leftovers and are slower. I would use Leftovers and throw DD over Stone Edge.

You're probably not going to like switching into CB Tar very much even with Wish support, so I would make Rhyperior much more defensive than I feel you'd normally EV it. It also may not have time to SD and would prefer Megahorn over it, so you may want to do that knowing you're passing it a SD from Leafia if all goes well.

Okay, future request to all team posters - don't shorten move names. It's really much easier to read if you just type things out (and use proper caps). A team post SHOULD take a long time, so don't whine >:(

You have 3 Pokemon weak to Ice and 2 more weak to Electric... Electivire could be a big problem, especially if it has HP Grass, which will hurt Rhyperior pretty bad.

thanks

yes, I'm planning on making Rhyperior very defensive because it's my only real physical defense.

as for gyarados, what's the standard bulky water EV spread/moveset?

ps: what's going to be the likely standard set for electrivire?

np, the standard bulky Gyarados EV spread is:

212 HP / 16 Atk / 164 Def / 116 Spd / 0 SpA / 0 SpD for
384 HP / 319 Atk / 235 Def / 227 Spd / 141 SpA / 236 SpD

if you like me, or

196 HP / 104 Atk / 68 Def / 100 Spd / 0 SpA / 40 SDef for
380 HP / 343 Atk / 211 Def / 223 Spd / 141 SpA / 246 SpD

if you like Phuquoph (I have an avatar though so I'm pretty much cooler by default). The "standard" set is Dragon Dance/Taunt/Earthquake/Ice Fang, with Waterfall over Taunt or one of your attacks as your team needs it.

Electivire's standard set is Thunderbolt/Cross Chop/Ice Punch/Earthquake, which hits 13 of the 17 types in the game for Super Effective Damage ("missing out" on Fighting, Psychic, Bug and Ghost). Hidden Power Grass is a viable option over probably Ice Punch but maybe CC if you hate Swampert.

thanks much :]

gah when i was designing the team electrivire completely slipped my mind. i suppose its going to be OUish? Well, I assume Hp:grass will be rare on wifi, so rhyperior sort of works.

You probably won't see a lot of HP Grass Electivire on WiFi, but don't rule it out completely. Rhyperior will work very well otherwise (I always recommend max HP and Defense on him, after I worked out how little physical attacks do then). Non STAB Ice Punch/Cross Chop/Earthquake won't hurt him much.

Timid with 200 HP / 200 Speed the rest (82) in SAtk is a decent spread for Togekiss, it outspeeds Adamant Heracross and make him fairly sturdy. I'd recommend you give him Thunder Wave to help your fairly slow team. He'll also survive anything from Azelf (that isn't Thunderbolt) and paralyze him.

You can't BP Subs then, so try Grass Rope or Pulse Bomb in the last slot. I tend to prefer Grass Rope as Togekiss craps all over most Water types.

You can put Sub on Leafia to make up for losing it on Togekiss.

CB Gyarados is evil and probably a big surprise for most people, since they'll expect a Dragon Dancer.

Also, I have an avatar but it's invisible to people whose posts are incredibly long. Sadly, this includes me so can someone tell me what it looks like?

Cross chop hits dark super effective no?

Nice team, Id consider megahorn on rhyperior for coverage.

yeah, i use it in my adv team and it does crazy damage against the typical zapdos switch in (with max attack hp:fly). i'll probably stick the bulky spread on a cb gyara.

thanks for the togekiss suggestion. i was just going to post about the agnome problem (azelf? not familiar with english names yet).

Snorlax gets 3HKOed by a Schemed Psychic from a Timid Azelf. Crunch 2HKOs Azelf even without Attack EVs. That's for 500 HP/330 SDef Snorlax.

You might run into problems if it's got Life Orb since it can 2HKO even a Max HP/SDef Snorlax. You can Whirlwind it out and try to predict it coming back in, Body Slam it and hope to paralyze, Yawn and Protect (maybe not).

Azelf doesn't really have a free switch-in on any of your team though, which helps.
