Revised team

After posting my first team and realizing I had a major weakness to mold breaker Excadrill (who was able to hit every member, most with super effective EQ's) and always seemed to struggle against Greninja, I decided to change both members of my team and certain attacks of existing members.

Infernape @ choice band
Iron fist
Jolly
252 atk 252 speed 4hp
-u turn
-close combat
-flare blitz
-Mach punch

Not much has changed with my lead- I was going to replace Infernape because he was always hit and miss, and not reliable enough. However, I switched thunder punch out for Mach punch, and Infernape is now my answer to Greninja and Excadrill (Mach punch for Excadrills will almost ohko without any prior entry hazard damage, flare blitz/close combat is a guaranteed ohko once I confirm it's not a scarfed Excadrill).

Infernape u-turns to keep the momentum in my favor, and comes in as a revenge killer to take out weakened foes. U-turn also hits lead lati@s very hard. Infernape also makes 1/3 of a fire/water/grass trilogy, providing excellent coverage between the 3.

Gyarados @ lefties
Moxie/Intimidate
Jolly
88 HP / 248 Atk / 4 Def / 168 Spe
-d.dance
-waterfall
-EQ
-substitute

My favorite pokemon's evolution, though rarely used because of his massive electric weakness, I finally have him back because I'm running a ground type in the team too! The 2nd prong my my trilogy- EV's provide a little more bulk to allow d.dance setup, and I chose substitute over taunt just because it'll protect me from status and provide protection should the opponent switch out to say, Terrakion w/stone edge. Generally won't switch in Gyarados if Skarmory/Ferrothorn are still alive.

Skarmory @ leftovers
Sturdy
Impish
252 def 224 hp 32 sp.def
-spikes
-whirlwind
-brave bird
-roost

This steel bird has very quickly become my favorite defensive wall, the more I use him the more I like him! Switch in to almost any physical blow and proceed to setup spikes or whirlwind opponents. I try my best to keep Skarmory alive as long as possible (which isn't difficult to do) and throw a layer of spikes any time I switch him in. Roost provides reliable recovery and brave bird for any grass/fighting/bug types that decide to stay in.

Excadrill @ air balloon
Mold breaker
Jolly
252 atk 252 speed 4 def
-stealth rock
-EQ
-rock slide
-rapid spin/swords dance

My electric immunity, Excadrill can take a few hits and give out even more. He works very well with Gyarados, letting me switch in and set rocks or attack. Mold breaker lets me hit Gengar and the like, rock slide for flying types. Stealth rock is used if I switch in to something like toxic/thunder wave, giving me a free turn. I'm unsure whether to run rapid spin or s.dance- both seem useful- I'm leaning more towards r.spin as I have 2 physical sweepers already.

(Mega) Venusaur@ mega stone
Overgrow/ thick fat
Relaxed
252 hp 68 def 188 sp.def
-synthesis
-giga drain
-leech seed
-EQ/sleep powder/toxic

My mega evolution, the last of my trilogy and my favorite grass type & favorite starters evolution! Venusaur has it all- great all round defenses, only 2 real weaknesses (flying & psychic) thanks to thick fat, ability to stall, put to sleep, poison, leech seed recovery, reliable recovery through synthesis and giga drain & EQ to attack! I've found Venusaur works great switching in on something and just settling himself in, leech seed is usually the first move in case the opponent switches, forcing me to switch. Giga drain & synthesis wear down opponents whilst keeping me healthy. The final move slot is a choice between sleep powder (gives a few free turns) toxic (to sap away health for continuous damage) and EQ (fire types). I'm leaning more towards either toxic or sleep powder, Gyarados can switch in on fire types.

Clefable @ lefties
Unaware
Bold
252 hp 252 def 4 sp.def
-wish / moonlight
-protect / aromatherapy
-calm mind
-moonblast / draining kiss

It's my first time using Clefable so I'm torn between two sets. Max defense and calm mind to increase sp.def, Clefable becomes a problem very quickly if left unchecked. Able to switch in on foes trying to set up or sp.attackers, Unaware provides easy control of Aegislash and dragon dancing dragons. Wish & protect help recover, and wish can help team mates, whereas moonlight and aromatherapy gives instant recovery, and helps status (for those trying to toxic stall). I'm not sure if Clefable learns draining kiss, both seem useful, one provides extra recovery whereas the other hits harder.

Well hello there, it is me, RP2865, who has decided to get back into RMT ing.

First thing, I would recommend you have a change of leads. The problem with having Infernape out is if you face a disadvantageous matchup. An example is Deoxys-D. Firstly, you can't OHKO it.
252 Atk Choice Band Infernape Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Deoxys-D: 166-196 (54.6 - 64.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Infernape U-turn vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Deoxys-D: 130-154 (42.7 - 50.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
While you fail to OHKO, it can set up hazards, screens, or OHKO you with counter. Then, you are sort of stuck. I would advise something that can taunt other leads and set up it's own hazards, like greninja.
Greninja @ Whatever you want (Focus Sash, LO, you name it)
Protean (Gasp)
-Toxic Spikes
-Taunt
-Dark Pulse/Scald
-Hidden Power Fire
This can destroy many common leads and set up toxic spikes. Toxic Spikes is a given, as Skarm already has Spikes. Dark Pulse deals nicely with Deoxys-D, often being able to 2HKO, but Scald can burn and works nicely in rain. Hidden Power Fire nabs Ferrothorn and Scizor and does massive damage to Skarmory, as well as shredding the rare Foretress. However, if you a want Stealth Rocks, you can either place (taunt and) stealth rocks on Infernape and remove the band or do something like
Deoxys-Speed @ Focus Sash, Choice Scarf, Light Clay
Taunt/Magic Coat
Stealth Rock
Trick (if Choice Scarf) Screens (if Light Clay)

There all sorts of options, so consider them. Among these are Status (Twave and Toxic), Weather, and Actual Attacks.

With lead covered, you can carry both Rapid Spin and Swords Dance on exca instead of rocks. Iron Head may be better than Rock Slide, but I'm not sure, as I usually use three attacks excadrill. For Clefable, I recommend
Clefable @ Lefties
Unaware
Calm Mind
Aromatherapy
Moonlight
Moonblast

Feel free to reconsider.

For Mega Venusaur, both Sleep Powder and Sludge Bomb (STAB damage plus 30% poison) are both decent options. Moxie is better on Gyarados for purposes of your set. You may want to switch out substitute to hit pokemon that water/ground doesn't cover well. Among them are Slowbro and Unaware Quagsire. The latter is such a threat, I seriously recommend toxic or HP Grass to do it. I know, HP Grass sounds laughable. But listen to this:
110 SpA Gyarados Hidden Power Grass vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Quagsire: 192-228 (48.7 - 57.8%) -- 50.8% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Gyarados Hidden Power Grass vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Quagsire: 228-272 (57.8 - 69%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
In comparison...
252+ Atk Gyarados Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 112-133 (28.4 - 33.7%) -- 97.7% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
Even uninvested adamant HP grass guarantees a 3HKO.
That's about all I have at the moment. Best of luck!

Politoed @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Scald
- Toxic
- Encore

Politoed, everybody's favorite perma-rain setter, except Kyogre in Ubers of course. He is my lead, and so he has encore to mess with hazarders like the omnipresent Skarmory and Ferrothorn. Ice Beam and Scald provide nice coverage, and toxic is for bulky waters like the even more omnipresent Rotom Wash. Speed helps him capitalize on Encore, and Damp Rock is for when 5 turns just aren't enough. I don't think much here needs change, but I suppose encore and the spread are up for suggestion.

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Roost
- Thunder
- Hurricane
- Dragon Pulse

Dragonite's movepool is crazy! Especially for a dragon. He has Blizzard, Aqua Jet, Fire Blast, Focus Punch, and Iron Head. Of course, there is also what is in my set. A 134 base attack welcomes sets like Dragon Dance, but don't forget the base 100 special attack stat. Thunder has a nice paralysis chance and power, Hurricane gives a decent flying stab and possible confusion (Decent flying move? I thought his most powerful was aerial ace?). Of course, Dragon Pulse is STAB, and Roost helps restore that beautiful Multiscale.

Omastar @ Leftovers
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Haze
- Rain Dance

I'm sure that this is one of the more... controversial Omastar sets you have seen in a while. With max investment and swift swim, he can be surprisingly fast; faster than threats such as max speed Garchomp. Rain Dance is for secondary, manual, weather support, scald for a nice rain boosted attack, haze for set up pokemon (shockingly) and toxic for threats that can't be handled otherwise.

Kabutops @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Swords Dance

One of two Swift Swimmers on the team. I don't know that there is too much to say about this. Max attack, high speed, the most powerful STAB moves available (except I think Waterfall>Aqua Tail, but feel free to disagree), STAB priority, and powerful set up. Maybe you like Rock Slide over Stone Edge, i don't know. I think the item is good as well.

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Mild Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SAtk
- Hydro Pump
- Dragon Pulse
- Flash Cannon
- Ice Beam

The other swift swim sweeper. Nice alliteration, huh? Pure, special, power with blazing speed in rain, Kingdra can just be a death machine. Hydro Pump over Scald or Surf for power, flash cannon for faries, dragon pulse for stab, and ice beam for reliable coverage on flying and grass types. Again, I don't think there is an awful lot to say.

Greninja @ Expert Belt
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse

Isn't this contrary to your expectations? My final pokemon has Toxic Spikes! I like to sometimes lay hazards in the mid-game, personally. Expert Belt instead of LO as to not further weaken Greninja's longevity, and some solid and powerful moves. Max special attack, high speed, and just pain with the added power and unpredictability of Protean.

So, tell me what you think, and make sure to reply!

Thanks for your advice! Is it feesable to have both greninja & gyarados? Or could I switch gyarados to dragonite with a similar d.dance set? Toxic spikes/taunt greninja sounds handy, I just don't like him because everyone and their grandmother seem to use one. Rapid spin & swords dance Excadrill looks great so I may just nab a greninja for that purpose. I'm just worried that people will predict the taunt and attack greninja anyway- he's kinda frail!

Thanks again!
