[OVERVIEW]
Ribombee makes for an incredibly versatile threat due to its blistering Speed, good typing, and solid movepool. These traits render it capable of fulfilling multiple roles, ranging from an offensive pivot able to support its teammates with Sticky Web to a capable wallbreaker and cleaner with Choice Specs and Quiver Dance, respectively. It can also revenge kill various threats like Sneasel and Archeops. However, Ribombee struggles a lot against Steel- and Fire-types as well as specially defensive walls like Silvally-Steel, Talonflame, and Gigalith due to its average Special Attack and relative lack of coverage options.

[SET]

move 4: U-turn
item: Heavy-Duty Boots

[SET COMMENTS]
This set makes Ribombee a capable offensive pivot capable of supporting its teammates with Sticky Web. Stun Spore allows Ribombee to cripple threats it struggles against, like Charizard, while Psychic allows it to hit Poison-types like Weezing. U-turn takes advantage of the switches Ribombee forces and allows it to bring it teammates against the Pokemon it invites in. Pokemon like Passimian, Magmortar, and Toxicroak make for fantastic partners; not only do they greatly appreciate Ribombee's Sticky Web, but they can also easily take on threats Ribombee has a hard time against such as Togedemaru and Gigalith, with Passimian also deterring the opponent from removing Sticky Web with Defog. Due to Ribombee's unimpressive damage output, it appreciates Spikes from partners like Froslass, which can pressure Steel-types for Ribombee and also enjoys Ribombee being able to revenge kill or cripple faster threats like Sneasel and Talonflame, respectively. Froslass can also switch into Rapid Spin users like Alolan Sandslash and Hitmontop trying to get rid of Ribombee's Sticky Web.

[SET]
name: Quiver Dance
move 1: Quiver Dance
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Psychic
move 4: Bug Buzz / U-turn / Roost
item: Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Shield Dust
nature: Timid
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Thanks to its decent coverage and great Speed, Ribombee makes for a fairly threatening setup sweeper. Bug Buzz hits Psychic- and Grass-types like Mesprit and Tsareena without needing a boost, while U-turn gives Ribombee more utility early- and mid-game when its checks are still healthy. Roost is a niche option, allowing Ribombee to use walls like non-Toxic Vaporeon and Palossand as setup fodder. Wallbreakers like Vanilluxe and Alolan Exeggutor are vital partners; they soften up Pokemon like Gigalith, Silvally-Steel, and Magmortar, making Ribombee much more of a nuisance. Due to its poor bulk, teammates that can bring Ribombee in safely like Lanturn and Heliolisk make for stellar partners; the former can also switch into Fire-types such as Charizard. Lastly, other cleaners like Scrafty, Omastar, and Silvally-Steel can set up on Ribombee's answers, and vice versa.

[SET]
name: Choice Specs

move 3: Psychic
move 4: U-turn / Sticky Web / Switcheroo
item: Choice Specs
ability: Shield Dust
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Ribombee's coverage and Speed make it a potent wallbreaker and revenge killer when wielding a Choice Specs. Sticky Web is an option over U-turn for Ribombee to support its teammates, while Switcheroo lets it cripple answers like Talonflame and Togedemaru. However, U-turn is the preferred option due to it easing prediction. Cleaners like Sneasel and Trick Room Alolan Exeggutor appreciate Ribombee weakening walls like Weezing, Talonflame, and Silvally-Steel for them. Braviary is another great teammate, as it can also take advantage of some of the various walls that Ribombee finds itself unable to break, such as specially defensive Togedemaru. Stealth Rock and other entry hazards are a huge nuisance to this particular set; they heavily dent Ribombee and make it easier to pick off with a priority move, meaning it has a harder time revenge killing Pokemon like Sneasel and Absol. This makes entry hazard control absolutely vital, with Charizard and Tsareena standing out as great options because they also deal with threats Ribombee struggles against.
