Right and Right Again (An OU RMT)

Yo Smogon community,my name is John, but you knew that already.I bring you a new RMT,this time I decided to do it after the voting whether Keldeo should be banned or not.I thank god it didn't got banned.
Anyway listen to this while you read through this RMT.

Team Building Process

I decided to base the team around one of the biggest threats and my favorite Pokemon ever:Scizor
I wanted to use a Banded variant since I use LO so much.Scizor can take on a lot of stuff, very solid pokemon overall.

212.png
623.png

Then I realized I needed to cover the fire weakness Scizor has and I also needed a spinblocker so Jellicent came to my mind,a Specially Defensive Variant to take on a lot of the special sweepers in the OU metagame namely Ninetales,Keldeo,Volcarona, some offensive Jellicent variants, which are very rare, etc.I also needed a guy that cripples stuff like walls so Jelli is the perfect guy for that.It cripples Specially Defensive variants of Jirachi with Scald, opposing Jellicent with Toxic,Forretress,Politoed,Hippowdon, etc.

Okay I had Jellicent and Scizor,I needed something to take on TTar besides Scizor and I also needed a set-up sweeper and YacheChomp came to my mind,SD YacheChomp is awesome dealing with those Ice types like the common Mamoswine. And I needed a fast pokemon.

212.png

I needed a Stealth Rocker and a Special Offensive Pokemon so I went for Heatran.Fire inmunities are always nice to have since Fire is a very common type. The set I chose is Life Orb Tran with Timid Nature, most people expect Special Defensive Variants but I personally like using this set

I realized I needed a Ground resist, better yet a ground inmunity. So Latios came into play.I decided to run a CM Life Orb variant because I didn't feel like using Specs or Scarf on Latios, though I gain an extra weakness to Ice,I have Scizor and Heatran to check that.

I needed a Spiker and something that can do at least good damage,Ferrothorn came to mind,I was deciding to use a SubSeed set.It sounds really weird but it can be uite effective since your opponent doesnt really expect it.

Ferrothorn wasn't really doing it's job very well so I decided to use Forretress. Also the fact I lacked a Rapid Spinner made me a bit worried. So Forretress also gets all 3 hazards.Making Heatran have Stealth Rock frees up a moveslot on Forretress. And it does quite well against Mence locked into Outrage,Choice Locked pokes, and it helps to wall Banded Scizor well.

Garchomp wasn't really doing it's job very well, and I lacked a Scarfer,so Plus suggested me to change it to Choice Scarfed Kyurem-Black,and it has done a lot better than Garchomp,it can sweep rain teams better than Garchomp. So Kyurem-B has taken Garchomp's place
Team in detail

Pokemon___Nocturne_Scizor_by_Musetrigger.jpg

Beyblade (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP/252 Atk /8 Spd
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit
Scizor is the heart and soul of the team, and it's also my favorite Pokemon of all time, every time I run Scizor,I almost always use SD.But I wanted to use the banded variant. With U-Turn to gain momentum,Bullet Punch for Technician and Priority,SuperPower to not be walled totally by Ferrothorn, and Pursuit to trap the likes of Lati@s locked into the wrong move.

Very solid pokemon and my favorite Pokemon.

Dat Stache' (Jellicent) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP /96 Spd/ 160 SDef
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Taunt
- Recover
- Will-O-Wisp

Jellicent is one of my Fire checks and my dedicated Spinblocker,I always run it with 0 Atk IV's so I dont take much confusion/foul play damage,I run Scald to cripple those problematic Physical Sweepers,Taunt to prevent the likes of Ferrothorn,Skarmory,Forretress, opposing Jellicent from setting up,with speed EVs to outspeed Skarmory,Will-O-Wisp and Scald might seem redundant because they both cause burns, but you sometimes need a guaranteed burn.

Jellicent is a really solid Special Wall and everyone should consider it.

black_kyurem_by_drawerelma-d4rtyqb.jpg

Iceey (Kyurem-Black) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Naive Nature
- Outrage
- Fusion Bolt
- Ice Beam
- Dragon Claw

Well guys, here is what I like to call :A freaking monster. This thing has a whopping base 170 Atk stat,if an Outrage from this guy hits,it will leave a mark. The set is Standard Outrage for a massive STAB,Ice Beam to deal with Gliscor,Fusion Bolt to deal with rain teams a lot better.

images

Heat And Run (Heatran) @ Life Orb
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Stealth Rock
Heatran is my Fire inmunity,as well as my Stealth Rocker,Plus gave me this set and I've been using it ever since.Well the set is Stealth Rock because is standard,Fire Blast to do massive damage,Earth Power to deal with opposing Heatran,Tyranitar, etc, and Hidden Power Ice for dragons/Gliscor/Hippo.

Latios_by_shazy.jpg

Altomare (Latios) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
IV's:0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Now you normally would think, why are you not using Scarf/Specs latios?Well the answer to that question is that I wanted to try something more interesting.I decided to use a Calm Mind set,the other 3 move slots are Dragon Pulse for obvious reasons over Draco Meteor,Psyshock so Blissey doesn't wall me completely, and HP Fire to dispatch Scizor,Ferrothorn,Magnezone,Forretress, etc.

GoldForre (Forretress) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Volt Switch

Last but not least,my dedicated Rapid Spinner and Physical wall.Forretress is very good on this spot since I did not have a spinner, the set is Spikes,Toxic Spikes and Rapid Spin for standard reasons. And Volt Switch to get some VoltTurn going on.So yeah.

Threats

478.png

Mamoswine:This thing is super-effective against 4 of my guys,so the only way to kill him is with Scizor, though I can't switch Scizor in since an EQ will leave a mark.

667.png

Volcarona:If Jellicent is dead, this thing can potencially sweep my entire team.

Rain in general:Rain is problematic to deal with if Latios and Jelli are out of the way.

So guys that's the team I built for this 2-week cycle, hope you guys liked the team, and if you have suggestions on how to improve the team, just let me know,so have a nice day everyone, until next time. :D

Importable ;)

Hi got your request

Most glaring issue I could see with this team is probably your lack of speed; anything base 110 and above will be outspeeding your team since you're using HP Fire on Latios. This includes stuff like Gengar, Starmie, Latias, Latios, Alakazam, and pretty much any scarfer. Luckily, Scizor can usually trap or kill those things barring HP Fire and Starmie in the rain, but it places a pretty heavy burden on Scizor to deal with faster threats.

One really cool scarfer you could use is Kyurem-B, whose sheer power allows you to beat a plethora of fast Pokemon on primarily offensive teams such as the ones I listed above. You can run this over Garchomp -- admittedly they play a bit differently but I think this suits the needs of your team better. Kyurem-B hits hard and fast right away, and does not require any set-up to use. It gives you a water resist to help you against Rain teams a little bit better, and you even have Spikes + Rapid Spin support from Forretress. Spikes severely hampers the common switch ins to Kyurem-B -- such as Ferrothorn, Scizor, and Jirachi. All of those three take around 30-40% from Outrage, which will often leave them in a 2HKO range lategame when Spikes have whittled their health down. Also, it's quite bulky and helps your Mamoswine issues a bit. An Outrage from Kyurem-B OHKOs Mamoswine nearly 100% of the time with SR up.

Nitpicking time. Take off 4 EVs from Scizor in HP and Speed, then slap them onto special defense. It's a minor adjustment that maximizes Scizor's bulk and gives it an extra SR switch in. It's pretty situational that the extra SR switch actually matters -- but hey, you never know. Run more speed on that Jellicent and use Taunt over Shadow Ball, and WoW over Toxic. This way, you're not losing to Ferrothorn and you can burn away instead of having it set up with Leech Seed or Spikes in your face. 96 Speed EVs should suffice; that allows you to Taunt Politoed and non Custap Skarmory. The former will try to Toxic/Perish Song you, the latter will try to set up Spikes in your face. You can take those EVs out from Special Defense. Will o Wisp is probably more important than anything on the Specially defensive Jelli set, as relying on Scald burns to come through doesn't always work. This is especially true against Ferrothorn, whose Power Whip will hurt like a bitch if you're not careful. Additionally, you have Toxic Spikes support already, so a burn or two would be nice on steel-types who are immune to that kind of stuff anyway.

Kyurem-B@Choice Scarf
Adamant 252 atk / 252 spe / 4 hp
Outrage/Dragon Claw/Fusion Bolt/Ice Beam

Scizor -> 248 hp / 252 atk / 8 sdef
Jellicent -> 252 hp / 160 sdef / 96 spe, Taunt + WoW > Shadow Ball + Toxic

gl with the team, hope I helped
