Riolu help?

I keep on resetting the game and trying to get a good nature and ability but it keeps on popping out with the small nature and ability as the last time. Whats the problem with it and why won't it change?

Because natures and IVs are determined when the egg is laid, not when it is hatched.

You had to save before he gave it to you to change natures

Alright so is Naughty an okay nature for a Special attacking Riolu cause I already have a physical attacker.

It should be Timid or Modest. All you need to do is breed it for a good nature.

Well that will take a very long time since I don't have a pokemon to breed it with?

Have you ever heard of a wonderful little thing called Ditto? I don't think Riolu can breed, though, so I think you'll need to evolve it into Lucario first.
