Introduction

Hey guys, Welcome to my second RMT, I'm going to be sharing with you all my first serious attempt at building a bulky offence team.
I am still relatively new to team building but this team has given me a fair bit of success and I'm at 1500+ on the ladder at the moment and still climbing going 8-0 since the start of using this team. Without further adieu, let's get into it.

Teambuilding Process

latest

I started off this team by building around one of my favourite mon's this gen and in all seriousness, a big threat in the current meta if meeting an unprepared team, I'm of course talking about choice banded bulu, this hard hitting and also bulky machine will powerhouse through pretty much everything it faces.

I put toxapex in there because it forms a nice core with bulu even with bulu not being totally defensive, it's my special wall and a great answer to some of the top tier picks in the meta right now such as greninja, also has toxic spike pressure as well as haze to counter pesky set-up sweepers that would otherwise run through the team.

Now it was time for some wall breakers, Mega Mawile is by far my favourite mega, not only does it look incredibly intimidating but it hits like an absolute truck.
This still free'd up a space for my Z move, I decided on volcarona, honestly? I couldn't tell you why, It's a mon I haven't used before and the bulky Z set seemed to fit the team nicely.

Finally it was time for some hazard control, The team was lacking a stealth rocker and my immediate go to was Lando-T, not only does it give me the stealth rocks I needed, It also has an offensive presence.
Last but not least with volcarona on the team a defogger was essential, I decided on Zapdos as it's a solid defensive mon that can answer to kartana and switch into most Lando-T sets.

An in-depth look

Ability - Grassy Terrain
EVs - 108 HP, 252+ Atk, 148 Spe
Nature - Adamant
- Wood Hammer
- Horn Leech
- Superpower
- Stone Edge

As I stated in the teambuilding process, this is one of my favourite pokemon and for good reason, Wood Hammer + Choice Band + Grassy Terrain is a complete and utter powerhouse, it has the ability to OHKO a lot of pokemon such as toxapex, lando-t (even after intimidated if stealth rocks are up it's got a shot). The EV spread is to make it as bulky and offensive as possible, the speed is there to speed creep 128 Speed SpD or Modest heatran and anything below.

Ability - Intimidate
EVs - 252 HP, 112+ Def, 144 Spe
Nature - Impish

- Stealth Rock
- U-Turn
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power Ice

It's hard to fault any of Lando's sets however I found a bulkier rock setter most fitting for the team I was building. Getting a slow u-turn off is really nice and the ability to hit an opposing lead lando with HP Ice for a good chunk of their health is always nice to begin a battle. The defensive set allows me to switch in to kartana a few times with ease to get off an intimidate and most of the time to force a switch. The spread is a standard smogon set again to outspeed 128 Speed SpD or Modest heatran and anything below.

Ability - Regenerator
EVs - 252 HP, 252+ SpD, 4 Def
Nature - Calm
- Scald
- Haze
- Toxic Spikes
- Recover

Very difficult to fault toxapex either, this thing is a top tier wall in my eyes. It has really high pressure with it's ability to lay toxic spikes and eat hits from the majority of special attackers in the tier. With it's access to haze and ability to switch in and reset boosts from the likes of volcarona, mega sableye and recovery with recover and regenerator meaning it's staying nice and healthy ready to eat up more hits.

Ability - Intimidate / Huge Power
EVs - 160 HP, 252+ Atk, 96 Spe
Nature - Adamant
- Swords Dance
- Thunder Punch
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch

This little biter is by far my favourite mega as stated above, it's just a complete power house. I went with thunder punch over knock off to hit toxapex + celesteela, Both will die after a swords dance but will do significant damage to both unboosted, Sucker punch for priority and stab play rough is just disgustingly strong.

Ability - Flame Body
EVs - 248 HP, 112 Def, 148+ Spe
Nature - Timid
- Quiver Dance
- Roost
- Flamethrower
- Bug Buzz / Savage Spin-Out

I don't have a lot to say about this mon seeing as I haven't used it prior, My experience with it so far is that it's surprisingly bulky and also hard hitting with it's set-up, In my personal opinion it doesn't have to be a 252/252 set with SpA and Spe to work, this set allows it to switch into mawile, kartana etc with ease and catch a burn with flame body, roost it off and set-up.

Ability - Static
EVs - 248 HP, 240+ Def, 20 Spe
Nature - Bold

- Discharge
- Heat Wave
- Defog
- Roost

The defogger for the team, static + discharge gives a good chance to paralyse anything who wants to u-turn on it or touch it and heat wave can hit opposing mawile, incredibly bulky and the main defensive pivot for the team, pretty standard set here.
