This boost allows it to outspeed non-Choice Scarf Calyrex-S and Speed tie with Jolly Choice Scarf Koraidon. However, the accompanying Defense drop makes it more vulnerable to Arceus's Extreme Speed. Scale Shot can also 2HKO Skeledirge and OHKO Ho-Oh after a boost, allowing Koraidon to break through teams that are reliant on them to check it.
