RMT 2nd Competitive Team

Okay I'll be honest, if you've seen my first team (which I have deleted since it was REALLY bad) then you'll know that one it has no basis (goal) the Pokemon do NOT work with each other, and it was flat out bad. But I'm here to redeem myself with this new team. Keep in mind I'm still a newbie to competitive battling. Also with the help of Pokebattle I was able to find good reasons to use these pokemon.

Gardevoir @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast

  • Calm Mind Mega Gardevoir can come in on many special attackers thanks to its great special bulk and set up to wallbreak.
  • Hyper Voice and Psyshock hit nearly every Pokemon for at least neutral damage, and Focus Blast covers up the massive Steel weakness that the two miss out on.
  • Shadow Ball is a viable coverage option to hit Aegislash and Victini.
  • Mega Gardevoir has a slew of other support moves it can use instead of Calm Mind, including Taunt to keep Chansey and Blissey from recovering HP, Healing Wish to fully recover a teammate, Destiny Bond to take out anything its attacks cannot, and Memento to open up a setup opportunity for a teammate.

Bisharp @ Choice Band
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Psycho Cut
  • Knock Off received a major boost in X&Y, and is what you'll be spamming most of the time.
  • Sucker Punch terrorises even Pokemon that resist it after an attack boost, and Iron Head provides reliable STAB to hit the likes of Azumarill and Clefable.
  • Other offensive options for the last slot include Pursuit and Low Kick depending on your team makeup. Stealth Rock is also an option if you really can't fit it elsewhere.
  • This set becomes even more dangerous with Sticky Web support, but make sure your opponent doesn't have a Bisharp of their own to get a free Defiant boost!

Galvantula @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Sticky Web
- Bug Buzz
- Thunder
- Hidden Power [Ice]
  • With the gift of Sticky Web in X&Y, Galvantula can help slower Pokemon shine
  • Thunder allows you to hit reasonably hard when you have a free turn, but Volt Switch can give you momentum at the cost of power and a 30% paralysis chance.
  • Hidden Power Ice makes sure you're not walked all over by Garchomp, Gliscor and Landorus-T, and can surprise your opponent if you lead the match with it
  • Hold off on setting up Sticky Web if your opponent has a Defiant Pokemon like Bisharp, as you'll be granting it a free +2 Attack boost
  • Rapid Spin and Defog are appreciated to keep your Focus Sash in tact, as setting up Sticky Web straight away may not be your best play

Mandibuzz (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 176 HP / 252 Def / 80 SDef
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Roost
- Foul Play
- Defog
  • The best Aegislash counter in the game thanks to typing and Foul Play
  • The most well rounded defensive user of Defog, can take almost any hit and further annoy stall with Knock Off, or offensive teams with Foul Play and Knock Off
  • To give a sense of it's defensive prowess, it will always survive Terrakion's Choice Banded Stone Edge, which would give you a chance to Foul Play, Defog, or even Roost up and switch to a more appropriate counter.

Rotom-Wash @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 240 HP / 60 SAtk / 208 Spd
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Trick
- Hidden Power [Ice]
  • A faster Rotom-Wash for quick VoltTurn teams, it also acts as an effective revenge killer to some Pokemon.
  • Trick makes Chansey and Ferrothorn useless, making this Rotom-Wash great support to special Pokemon like Latias.
  • Timid and 208 Speed EVs outspeed max Speed +1 Base 80 Pokemon like Choice Scarf Togekiss or Jolly DD Dragonite.
  • Hidden Power Ice is a great revenging attack vs Shaymin-Sky who would often try to stay in - it also is a more accurate attack for Pokemon like Landorus and Garchomp, for which you may not want to risk Hydro Pump missing.
  • Max HP gives it some bulk, giving it still a role as an answer to Azumarill. Max Special Attack can be used instead on more offensive teams.
Sharpedo @ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Zen Headbutt
- Protect
  • Sharpedo works best as a late game sweeper as it can easily finish up a weakened team.
  • Protect guarantees a free speed boost.
  • Waterfall and Crunch are for STAB and offer good coverage together.
  • Zen Headbutt hits Mega Venusaur, Keldeo, Toxicroak, Heracross and Conkeldurr (but watch out for Mach Punch).
  • Ice fang is another viable option to hit dragon types such as Hydreigon and Dragonite.
  • Earthquake can also be used but it is usually inferior to Ice Fang or Zen Headbutt.
