dpmfa468.png

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Serene Grace
252 HP / 6 Def / 252 SpD
Calm
~ Thunder Wave
~ Air Slash
~ Roost
~ Aura Sphere

A para-flinch togekiss nothing else to say. Paralyze opponents to get a technical speed boost, and flinch opponents with air slash

dpmfa094.png

Gengar @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
Nature: modest
Evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Speed
~ Shadow Ball
~ Thunderbolt
~ Ice Beam
~ Energy Ball

A special attacker that provides support and type coverage, especially when paired with the aerodactyl. i integrated bolt-beam on the standerd Gengar and added expert belt, because of the type coverage. Energy Ball is used to help aerodactyl with his water weakness. The modest nature was to give him more power.

Aerodactyl @ Leftovers
Rock Head
80 HP / 100 Atk / 154 SpD / 176 Speed
Adamant
-Double Edge
-Rock Slide
-Roost
-Fire Fang

A lead Aerodactyl With a few changes (Double Edge and Fire Fang) meant to hit all types for at least neutral damage. When paired with the Gengar, at least one of them will hit the opponent for supperefective damage. Also He can make his opponents fiercly annoyed when combined with togekiss. Leftovers was used to increase Aerodactyls durability.

Garchomp @ Yache Berry
Sand Veil
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Speed
Jolly
-Stone Edge
-Dragon Claw
-Fire Fang
-EarthQuake

Garchomp is here as my physical Attacker. He could easily start sweeping with stabed d-claw. Earthquake is for the electric types that try to come in on Togekiss and for and fire pokemon attempting attack. Fire Fang is there for D-claw resistant steel types, however i know they probably wont be 2HKO.

Thats it so far, also im not really experienced in the competitive battling, so this is my first time really trying to go in depth with this. I think my EV's need help, and also better leads. However I think it is a Fairly well balanced team, but any recemmendations on pokemon would be appreciated . Also IV recomendations would be appreciated, however not numbers that r too high.

THIS IS THE EDITED VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL TEAM

It doesn't look like you are very experienced with 2 vs 2 battles. You seem to think they play a lot like normal 1 vs. 1 battles, but they don't. A lot of strategies that are effective in single battles aren't that good in double battles. Did you just copy sets from Smogon's database? You should know that those sets are only meant for single battles.

Your using Stealth Rock, which is a great move for single battles because your opponent will probably be switching around a lot. But in doubles, hardly anyone switches unless they really need to. In fact, many battles are done without any switching at all. This makes Stealth Rock not very useful.

Next, your Bronzong has Explosion, which is a good move to have in double battles. But you don't have Protect on any of your teammates and none of your teammates are immune to Explosion. That means if Bronzong explodes, one of your teammates will die too.
In double battles, it's a good idea to consider Protect or Detect on all or most of your Pokemon because Protect is just that important.

Your Gyarados and Garchomp both have set-up moves with Dragon Dance and Swords Dance. But in double battles, those moves aren't as good. Remember you are facing two opponents at the same time, not just one. So in the one turn you are boosting your stats, you risk being attacked twice. Even very bulky Pokemon like Garchomp will die easily from two powerful attacks.

Another tip: If you are using a Pokemon with a 4x weakness to a certain type, like Garchomp and Gyarados, then using type-resist berries can save their lives. For Garchomp, Yache Berry cuts Ice damage in half. For Gyarados, Wacan berry does the same for Electric attacks.

As for IVs, you generally 31 in their most important stats, like Garchomp's Attack and Speed, or Bronzong's HP, Defense, and Special Defense. But it certainly wouldn't hurt to have completely flawless Pokemon because many people out there will have Pokemon with 31 in every stat. ;)

Ok thanks, and it is true that i have no experience with 2v2 battling. I gues i just tried to rush through it. Also do u have any specific movesets for these pokemon, because i dont think that just changing the items and adding protect will last any longer than the set i have there. Also i should just remove The stat boosting moves and replace them wit protect?.

Well, not neccesarily. I'm not a pro at doubles, but I'll try to help some.

For Arcanine, I think a pure physical attacker might work better. How about something like this, a modified Anti-lead set?

Arcanine @Lum Berry
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Adamant
Evs: 70 HP / 252 Atk / 188 Spe
- Flare Blitz
- Extremespeed
- Toxic
- Protect

The lack of switching in doubles makes Toxic a really good choice. 68 Speed will outspeed all forms of Smeargle which are quite common at Nintendo competitions. It has Protect to stall and to help with Explosion, and Extremespeed to revenge kill.

For Bronzong, I think theres something to that idea. However it needs some heavy modification. However honestly I'm not the person to give advice on that. Switch Stealth Rock for Protect or Toxic IMO. And I think a set with Hypnosis might work better. Incapacitating atleast one pokemon is quite nice, especially without Sleep Clause.

Garchomp would do better with a Choice Band.

Garchomp @Choice Band
Ability: (I forget)
Nature: Jolly
Evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Claw

Outrage is a moderately powerful move in doubles, because it hits either one of your opponents, randomly. The rest is pretty simple.

Finally, Gyarados has to go.

Togekiss @Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Modest or Timid
Evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere
- Fire Blast
- Trick

Trick scarf Togekiss in Doubles. I do think it could work. It works well with Garchomp because although they share a weakness, Kiss levitates over his Earthquakes and provides three types he doesnt have access to. Also with Trick, Kiss can give some random pokemon her Scarf and cause big trouble to the unsuspecting recipient. I would go with Modest for power; her base 120 SpA is nothing to shirk at.

Good luck!

Ugh, no Illithian no! Choice items in 2 vs. 2 battles = BAD! The idea behind Choice items is that you attack and switch out and switch back in again in case you want to use another move. But like I said, switching in double battles isn't a good idea ESPECIALLY in a 4 vs. 4 format like most official tourneys. Not only that, but Choice items limit your versatility which is extremely bad for double battles since you need to be able to handle many different situations at once.

Also double battles are hyper offensive. It's all about setting up and sweeping. Stalling pretty much won't work and Toxic is pretty useless. People use Protect to scout for attacks and prevent Explosion from killing them, not because they want to stall.

So i Should remove bronzong and togekiss and replace them with some one more offensive like Salamence? I edited the edition team to a more physical team, however should i change it so that there is one special attacker with each phys attaker. Also any suggestions for special Attackers?

@Illithian y does it say fat shadow0x0cloud

I beg your pardon, Choice items are brilliant if used in an efficient manner. Well, actually only Choice Scarf is the decent one. lol. Choice Scarf can mess with the opponent if used on a slow Pokemon; the opponent will be bewildered that a slow, powerful Pokemon is wiping out their offense before they even attack. But, like I said, the item has to be used correctly.

And you make it seem like doubles are all pain and no game. Switching can be very valuable, if used with correct prediction, and Protect is used for stalling against weather and other effects. However, yes, Toxic is pretty pointless here.

It says you're fat because clearly you are. X]
Just kidding. I forget the actual lore behind the existence of "Fat", but I think it includes the creator being bored and just changing it entirely to affect everyone's quotes.

As for having a purely physical team, remember that you won't be the only one running Intimidate...

Here it is an updated version made to hopefully piss my opponents off. BTW i cant use shoddy cause i have a mac, wen this team is completed can some one try this team out plz

If there's one thing I've learned playing doubles, it's that you need protect on every single poke.

Protect is amazing if you're able to predict what your oppenent is trying to do. Try it out.

Plus, you can't very well run an exploding bronzong with an arcanine and not run protect on the dog :\.

Your pokes have singles movesets...

Have you ever played doubles?

Have you tested this team? Are you aware of the common threats?
