RMT-- All hail Britannia! OU team.

--If you haven't watched Code Geass, don't know what it is or don't care, feel free to ask, or just ignore the second paragraph for each Pokemon.

I made this team thinking... I just want to be good.

Please note: Due to... circumstances, I cannot use a Rotom-Appliance, nor will I ever fight one. Please keep that in mind, and just... don't ask.

Metagross @ Occa Berry ** Gawain
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Atk / 8 Def / 16 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake
- Meteor Mash
- Stealth Rock

Bulky and pretty powerful. Latias takes care of the bulky waters and Zapdos that try to overtake the metallic spider. You might wonder why I decided to forgo Explosion. Well, with Bullet Punch, Meteor Mash AND Earthquake, most leads fall. Infernapes that laugh because they think I don't have Earthquake... think again. Aerodactyls that think they're safe because I don't have Bullet Punch... oh my. I did this because he is part of a strategy to take down a DDMence. Switch him in on the DD, switch to Gyarados on the Earthquake, and Scizor on the Outrage, who is firmly picked off with Bullet Punch. Same with Mixed sets. I can't afford for him to die until he's done what he should-- be the essential Steel that a team needs. He's also a switch in to Latias, but my Scizor works well too. They're both fine. Metagross with his better bulk, or Scizor with Bullet Punch, Pursuit AND U-Turn! Either way, Metagross is, as I said, the essential Steel. He tag teams with Scizor and Gyarados to stop a DDMence, if I predict right. And if not, well... Meteor Mash + Bullet Punch is very fun, very very fun. Isn't it? They get hit hard, then get finished off.

The Gawain is a really large Knightmare Frame, and it's very bulky. It's pretty powerful too, but it ain't the fastest thing alive. Still, it's Hadron Cannons are able to down an entire air force. Metagross's Meteor Mash probably reflects that.

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers ** Damocles
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Waterfall

The set given to me by someone. Status absorber, sets up on Scizor, Swampert, Lucario and other things... (Should) deal with most Nape. Also cleans up late-game, and has recovery. He's also my bulky water, thanks to Intimidate and his good stats. Not the essential bulky water, however. Flying brings weaknesses. Stealth Rock being one. Of course, he has RestTalk to counter that. Vaporeon is very very lame, but luckily Latias handles him without breaking a sweat. Same with Zapdos.

Named the Damocles because the Damocles is an ACTUAL floating fortress, meanwhile the Siegfried was just a giant orange (with giant green Slash Harkens and a cannon, as well as a Sutherland head). The Damocles launches off nuclear warheads known as FLEIA. While Gyarados isn't as powerful as that with this bulky set, the Damocles is impenetrable. Plus it floats. And... Gyarados is part Flying... yeah, that works.

Latias (F) @ Leftovers ** Tenshi
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 148 HP / 252 Spd / 108 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Refresh

What team doesn't have one? My Special wall, and boosts it's stats with Calm Mind. Seriously, practically no Special Attack OHKO's or even 2HKO's it, and that's further reduced with Calm Mind and Recover, at a very nice 350 Speed. Scizor is a problem. I have Zapdos for him, and even if Scizor brings Latias down to the ground, Gyarados comes in for a free Dragon Dance. I can work accordingly from there... Refresh is to take on Blissey... Dragon Pulse is only resisted by one type, and I have measures to deal with Steel types. Namely, Gyarados, and to a good extent Zapdos.

Latias makes me think of angels. Tenshi means Angel.

Starmie @ Leftovers ** Shen Hu
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 136 HP / 156 Def / 216 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
- Surf
- Thunderbolt

The standard bulky Rapid Spin Starmie. My answer to Gyarados. And I forget about it's 352 Speed Recover! Rapid Spin assists my Zapdos and Gyarados, since switching them in will hurt. And they have plenty of opportunities to switch in.

Named Shen Hu because it... Well, it has a circular thing on it's chest that (probably) shoots lasers, but the actual Shen Hu does shoot a cannon out of it's chest. It also spins it's flails around, and... Starmie Rapid Spins.

212-m.png

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band ** Divider
Trait: Technician
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 SpD
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- U-turn

My revenge killer with Bullet Punch, or at least it can keep things in check. With his and Metagross's Bullet Punch, pesky Salamence aren't a problem. Add Gyarados to that mix and I laugh at ANY Salamence! Of course, with the right prediction. Metagross switches in on the Dragon Dance, Gyarados into the Earthquake, and Scizor switches into the Outrage and picks it away with Bullet Punch. Bye bye, Salamence. Provides good offense, and also handles Tyranitars and Blisseys wanting to stomp on my electrical bird. I must watch out for DD Babiri Tyranitar, however. Luckily, I've not seen them lately.

Gino's Knightmare Frame, the Tristan Divider (the upgraded Tristan) is cool. Scizor divided things up with Bullet Punch-- is anyone using Porygon-Z, Alakazam, Azelf not as a lead, Weavile, or anything fragile and not resistant to Steel anymore?

145.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers ** Siegfried
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Roost
- Thunderbolt
- U-turn

Overall great Pokemon, and hits hard with 349 Special Attack. Metagross handles Tyranitar and Blissey ruining Zapdos's fun, as well as Scizor. I can U-Turn as I expect the fat blob to switch in, so right away I've got an advantage, force the infinite pinkness out, and work from there. He misses Heat Wave, but he now operates off a higher Special Attack at the cost of being less bulky. However, U-Turn is amazing.

Zapdos is practically a floating fortress, stopping most Steels in their tracks, as well as other things. The Siegfried is a floating fortress as well, sorta.

My main problems are:
-When to Rapid Spin. Zapdos and Gyarados are essential. Gyarados especially, because he's the one with multiple roles-- Bulky water, late-game cleaner, status absorber, and with Intimidate it helps against DDMence (Meta on the Dance, Gyara on the Quake, Scizor on the Outrage)... I just don't know when it's exactly safe to Rapid Spin.
-Should I put Surf/HP Fire over Refresh? Latias keeps pulling her... hair? out when stuff like Metagross, Skarmory and Scizor switch in. Scizor's got her trapped with Pursuit, but luckily that's a free turn for Gyarados to set up.

There! I hope I did good. Please tell me where things went wrong, or any advice to the team. And again,

-I cannot get a hold of Rotom-Appliance, nor will I ever fight one. Ever. Just believe me. Deny it's existence when rating please.

Looks pretty good but I would suggest 12Defense EVs to survive a Choice banded Adamant Dugtrio's Earthquake on Metagross (along with Max HP).

Never understood that, really... what, will it make sure the maximum damage is less than 100%? But, okay.

Plus, wouldn't Bullet Punch OHKO? Also, no one in their right mind would SWITCH a Dugtrio into a Metagross.

Overall your team is pretty solid but I think some of the EVs and movesets could just be fine tuned a little to make it work better.

Firstly, I understand your paranoia about opposing Gyarados, but by using Scarf on Starmie you actually make yourself a lot more vulnerable to it. Sure it can outspeed a Gyarados after a DD, but what if you predict wrong and get it hit with a LO Earthquake instead. It won't be coming in to stop Gyarados again, that's for sure. Having a reliable switchin for Gyarados is pretty essential when using a CB Scizor and ResTalk Gyarados, and currently Starmie isn't providing your team that. Instead of using a Scarfer, switch instead to the bulky Rapid Spinner. It will not only deal with Gyarados better, but is much more reliable at Rapid Spinning and can keep the rocks off the field with some regularity for your Zapdos and Gyarados. The fact that you don't have to encounter Rotom makes this an even more appealing choice. This is the set I would suggest:

Starmie @ Leftovers
Timid | 136 HP / 156 Def / 216 Spe
Rapid Spin / Recover / Surf / Thunderbolt

Like it says in the analysis, this spread allows you to survive +1 LO Earthquake and Stone Edge after SR damage, making it a good Gyarados switchin. Watch out for Bounce variants though, but that will then mean that it either doesn't have Earthquake or Stone Edge, so either Metagross or Zapdos should be able to take an attack and hit it back.

You don't want to be running any Speed EVs on your Scizor - going last against opposing Scizor and Skarmory is more beneficial to you. Against Scizor, they will either Superpower first, meaning you hit them once they have -1 Def, or they will U-turn first, meaning you get the advantageous switch with a slower U-turn once you've seen their switchin. Against Skarmory, you hit them with Superpower super effectively if you're slower and they try to Roost stall you. I wouldn't worry too much about DD Tyranitar - you have two users of Bullet Punch to destroy the Babiri then hit again, and if it has no boosting item, Gyarados is guaranteed to survive a Stone Edge and can be used as a last resort revenge killer.

Last thing, I think a more offensive Zapdos would be better for your team here. A defensive Zapdos and a defensive Gyarados cover basically the same things, and I think Gyarados works better for this team here. I'd like to recommend a slightly unorthodox set for your team:

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Timid | 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Thunderbolt / Hidden Power Ice / Roost / U-turn

It is basically a standard offensive Zapdos with Leftovers and U-turn. The real reason I'm recommending U-turn is because of Blissey - by not having a Trick Starmie to cripple it, you do become quite vulnerable to Blissey walling your special attackers. U-turn means that if Blissey comes in on the switch, you get the advantage and don't give it a chance to heal as you bring in one of your physical attackers to put it under pressure. With the more reliable spin support from the bulky Starmie, you shouldn't worry too much about Zapdos having to come in and out repeatedly. A fast Zapdos can also revenge kill quite a lot of Pokemon, and so being able to U-turn on something you know you directly threaten and will switch can go to great lengths in helping you maintain momentum and win games. Swampert isn't giving your team massive problems, and HP Ice lets you hit Latias as well as getting better coverage alongside Thunderbolt, which is why it is chosen as a secondary attack.

Good luck with your team, and make sure to heed the bumping rule next time :).

Haha, alrighty. It's just, I've been told that Starmie takes 80% average from a +1 Earthquake/Stone Edge. I can switch in and then take the hit (which is very, very hefty with SR damage), as I Thunderbolt, but after that it might as well be dead. It's got Recover, but it'll be more prone to revenge kills. Plus, I have to make sure I get in a Rapid Spin before that happens.

...maybe I just have never used a Starmie right, but I guess I forgot it's speedy Recover. Alrighty then.

As for Scizor, my own Scizor is never an answer to an enemy Scizor, but I guess I see what you mean there. I never thought about it like that. I just ran the EVs to be ahead of stuff like Metagross. But, I can't do much with Superpower, but a neutral U-Turn with STAB might do something. But then it would be advantageous to be slower. Alrighty then.

As for Zapdos... HP Ice to hit Latias doesn't sound like a good idea. She's got monstereous Special Defense, and it's further boosted with Calm Mind. With Heat Wave I combat Steels more at the cost of hitting Swampert. I have Gyarados and Latias for Swampert anyway.

But... neutral coverage is always good, and Thunderbolt should suffice, especially now with my 349 SpAttack.

Thank you very much Legacy Raider. Go raid that legacy! Lol.

And I'll make sure to remember that. Haha.
