RMT (And help) XY OU/BattleSpot Singles

Hello all, I usually play VGC and I am currently trying to get my rank up on all of the ladders. So far I've only really make progress with doubles by making top 20 in the US at the moment. I've done pretty well with triples and rotations since prediction matter more than the meta and team building, and the special ladder this season is cake with kangaskhan and greninja. My issue I usually play VGC, hence why I've only made progress in the doubles ladder. My singles game is pretty weak because I don't play, and since it is the most common, everyone else has more experience than me.

The idea of this team was just to create a solid core and also having multiple pokemon that can't be OHKOd so I can stop a sweep. I do have two choiced pokemon on this team, but since it will be 3v3 I will probably not bring 2 choiced pokemon to a battle, and I'm rather proficient with choice'd mons anyway. Here is the team:

Kangaskhan @ Kangaskhanite
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 Atk
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Crunch
- Power-Up Punch
- Return

Yeah yeah, so it is banned in OU. Either way it doesn't stop everyone else from using it on the ladder and I need to be able to keep up with them. Max speed and nature to tie at worst with all other kangs. Crunch > Sucker Punch so I can get through tricky ghost types like Aegislash, Gengar, Gourgeist, Trevenant. I went with power-up punch over hammer arm just so I can have the option to sweep, and with jolly 252 spe, loosing speed wouldn't make much sense.

Greninja @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- U-turn

One of my favorite revenge killers so far as long as they have no priority. Even at timid nature, U-turn still does a decent amount and is the go to move for anything in the red. The other 3 moves are there for coverage. I had focus sash, but switched it because with the ability to change my type, they almost never got a super effective hit on me. Let me know if there are better options like grass knot. Also let me add that I played a singles battle with some Twitch streamer the other day and U-turn OHKOd his Malamar. So I guess this is a good malamar counter.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- U-turn
- Superpower

I don't know if this is still popular, but I used to use this in the Gen V, and I haven't really played much since then. CB Bullet Punch just destroys, u-turn for pivot, superpower for kangaskhan and coverage, and pursuit for things that want to retreat. I tried to put some priority on this team so I don't get up against something that is at +2 with 10 HP left and have nothing I can do about it.

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide

I added Mamoswine just because I felt like I was the only one without hazards, and it lets me deal with both Charizards for a revenge kill. Let me know if I should switch pokemon to something with spikes or toxic spikes. (I have a klefki, ferrothorn, tyranitar ready to go) Ice shard is there for Garchomp and salamence. I really like mamoswine just for it's ability to counter so many big threats.

Salamence @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang
- Crunch

Late game sweeper. Not really sure about his movepool though. Anytime my opponent are low on health, mence can come in and nab a moxie boost, and do a lot of damage to their next pokemon. Fire fang is there to finish off pokemon if I know their last pokemon is a ferrothorn. Earthquake is just a great coverage move, dragon claw is for stab. Crunch is their just because there is so many pokemon weak to dark and I didn't no what else to put. :p Jolly to outspeed other mence's.

Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Quiet Nature
- King's Shield
- Substitute
- Flash Cannon
- Shadow Ball

Aegislash is there to seal the game up for me in the end. As long and I can take out whatever threats he has, anything that doesn't hit super effective against it will have a bad time. I don't know if WP is more popular, but leftovers behind a sub + kings shield just adds so much more longevity. It bascially allows Aegislash to have ferrothorn's walling capability but with more offense. I wish I could've put sacred sword on here, but flash cannon and shadow ball are both STAB that offer good coverage anyway.

There you go. Let me know if I should chance anything or start completely over!

Your team seems fine for battle spot. Personally I would get rid of fake out in favor of sucker punch or substitute. Both help kanga rip through teams and potential counters. You could even run eq for things like aegislash to more reliably win against it and to not ko yourself when facing things like rocky helmet ferrothorn/garchomp that are fairly common. I wouldnt run fake out though.

Oh and you desperately need a talonflame counter. That thing is everywhere.

Completely forgot about that. I was trying to cover my basis and left out using rotom. I think I might put in my banded azumarill I use for doubles and switch scizor to a SD lum set. I think I might take out Aegislash.

That could certainly work.

An excellent team. I think you might want to consider a different nature for your Greninja, however, because I think you'll find the attack drop will leave you short sometimes. I'd personally recommend Naive.

That sounds like it would work more, but I don't really use U-turn unless they are neutral and in the red anyway. It is kinda there just to finish them off or break the sash and switch to a better matchup. I also don't feel like training one lol. But the moment U-turn is 1 HP from a kill you bet I will go breed a new one.

I just need this team to break 1700 so I can play all the other ladders.
