Battle Spot RMT battle spots singles

If you have read this before in another thread i apologize because I was confused on what the actual sub forum was about but anyway I use this team when I play on singles and while I do win, I lose more than what I would like to admit.

Garchomp
Adamant Nature Max att, spd, rest def and life orb
Swords Dance
Earthquake
dragon claw
poison jab
It was my first hacthed shiny and it has almost perfect iv's so it what i felt was going to be my primary pick for online. I added poison jab because of fairy types such a tapu's and etc. I added life orb just because if i can't setup atleast one swords dance I can still one hit majority of the field with the bonus damage of life orb. Dragon claw is just their for basic stab against other dragons and same with earthquake.

Mimikyu
Jolly, max att, spd, and rest def red card
swords dance
play rough
Shadow sneak
shadow claw
I really just run mimkyu because how good he is online and with red card it actually suits it well. Most people online tend to run a dragon type and since mimiyku is naturally faster than a majority unless it's choice it's ideal. Also I can setup 1 swords dance free because of disguise unless they have a pokemon with mold breaker but besides that whenever they do land a hit on mimkyu because of red card the oppenents pokemon get's switched which can be a 50/50 on getting a kommo-o or a meta metagross with bullet punch. Shadow sneak is just for finishing of opponents that are on the verge of death and i'm scared they are caring bullet punch or first impression. Also play rough is because it's a good move in general and while most of the time.

Al Marowak
Impish, max att, spd, def cursed body, thick club
Shadow bone
Flare blitz
earthquake
substitute
This one was my first wild encounter shiny and it had 4iv's which was ok for me. I was getting hell from a friend for not getting the correct nature and not putting any ev in hp but i felt as if you put it in speed it will outspeed other pokemon in it's speed range unless choice and i really only keep him for celestalta. I added substitute so i can keep on the field for longer durations since flare blitz kills its hp and earthquake and shadow bone because those are great stab moves.

Espeon
Timid, max sp att,spd synchronize pixie plate
shadow ball
dazzling gleam
psyshock
physic
I honestly didn't know what to make it hold besides pixiie plate because dazzling gleam because it doesn't do as much as i would like it to. I am debating on whether or not taking out psyshock for calm mind. I don't have much to say besides that it's supposed to be a sp att sweeper. I'm thinking about switching because first impression shots him which sucks but besides that i can usually one shot super effective pokemon with a psychic.

Tentacruel
Timid max sp att, spd black sludge, clear body
hydro pump
sludge bomb
ice beam
toxic spikes
I have him because he is the most tanky on my entire team and can survive a super effective move. Hydro pump i use for either stab because it's the most damage or super effective. sludge bomb is for fairy types or just my regular spam attack. Ice beam is here for dragons as well and like sludge bomb spam it as well. toxic spikes are really just to piss of the opponent so that it will last even if it dies.

Lucario
Jolly max att, spd, steadfast and lucarionite
Poison Jab
Swords dance
earthquake
close combat
I wanted a mega and saw how one destroyed me online so i decided to get one of my own. Poison jab and earthquake are their for stab moves if nothing I have is super effective. Swords dance is just their is I have the chance to setup for example is I see a ageslash I know they will use protect so i get a free swords dance and close combat is my one shot.

Kangaskhan
Adamant max att,spd scrappy and mega stone
fake out
drizzy punch
sucker punch
earthquake
I created her because lucario wasn't doing as well as i like him to be and after seeing a few youtube video's mega mom is amazing. What i didn't know is that power up punch is gone and their is no way for her to learn it in this generation so i went with drizzy punch. Depending what pokemon the opponent has is how fast i will mega evolve. If they have a ghost I will hold back so i can use fake out on them the first turn then sucker punch the second. Drizzy punch has been pretty good to me since majority of time it confuses the opponent and while they did nerf confuse it can still helps me out. Sucker punch is another move that does help if the pokemon is faster than me or is about to die. Earthquake is there just because it's earthquake. I am thinking about changing out drizzy punch for brick break though.

Hi mevincool,

from what i'm seeing your team is pretty weak to Earthquake spam. You can 3 pokemon that are weak to ground move, and the other three aren't really known for tanking hits, so yeah my first suggestion would be to add something that could deal with this weakness.
A good add could be Tapu Bulu, mitigating ground attacks with its ability to summon Grassy Terrain, being resistent to Fighting-type attacks to guard your mega (i guess Kanga replaced Lucario since you listed 7 mons, buth it can protect both) and taking ground attacks like a boss. It would play the role of the Dragon-type absorber, helping even Garchomp. So yeah, i think Bulu fits your pretty well.

An example:

tapu_bulu_sprite_by_luigi_player-daolr02.gif
@ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk/ 4 Spe
Nature Adamant
- Wood Hammer
- Superpower
- Rock Slide / Rock Tomb
- Horn Leech / Nature Madness / filler attack

This set deal A LOT of damage, scoring even a 2hko on Porygon2. Instead you could use a bulkier set with more defensive oriented EVs and Nature, or a Jolly set with at least 148 Speed to be faster than max speed Jolly Celesteela.

I would switch out Espeon for Tapu Bulu to be fair. I'm a HUGE fan of Espeon, but i don't really see it working in this team and especially with that set, since it can't even tank fighting-type hits for Kanga due to its frailness and its damage output is not that impressive. If you really want to use Espeon i would recomend a Baton Pass team with it as the baton pass recipier (we will take the set conversation after if you decide to go this way).

With Bulu in your team, i think it's balanced. You have ways to cover your mega, and a decent synergy between your sexstet.
It can be still improved for sure, but before going deeper i would make some more important changes in the items and the movesets:

Garchomp:
change its item, the life orb is decent but Chomp is a huge threat if wearing a Focus Sash or a Choice Scarf.
The movepool, Outrage over Dragon Claw even if it's risky but the damage output really pays off. Dragon Claw is too weak and it doesn't do that much even at +2.
Rock Tomb could be a good idea on the Sash set to outspeed faster threats after taking a hit; Rock Slide/Stone Edge on the Scarf one.

Kangaskhan:
Absolutely switch Dizzy Punch for Double-Edge. With the Parental Bond nerf (Kanga's ability) being much more weak that it was in generation 6, a strong STAB is needed.
You could consider to run Ice Beam over Sucker Punch or Fake Out to hit mons like Garchomp and Salamence, using a Naive or a Hasty nature. A good EVs spread could be this one: 164 Atk / 92 SpA / 252 Spe.

Tentacruel:
Forget Toxic Spikes. Its not as good as it is in the 6vs6 metagame, not even close. You could rather use Toxic to deal with such as Porygon2 or a Hidden Power, maybe Hidden Power [Electric] to surprise and hit hard Gyarados on switch ins. Now we have to say that this is a pretty niche pokemon, you won't see Tentacruel in the meta 99% of the time. This being said, i really like this choice since i've tried this mon too and it can work in this early prebank metagame.
The fact is it REALLY needs an item that helps it to deal more damage. You can use the Life Orb taking it off from Garchomp, or even a Waterium-Z.

If this mon won't work, a good idea could be to use Araquanid over Tentacruel. This mon would still offers a Fight-type resistence, while also mitigating your huge ground weakness and working pretty fairly with Marowak-A.

Marowak-A:
i really have little experience with this mon, but I can say that its power is undeniable. Since it's slow i would just go with a 252 Hp / 252 Atk EVs spread, or if you want to run some speed i recomend to run Flame Charge to boost your speed, over Substitute.
I can also say that this pokemon does get moves like Ice Beam and Thunderbolt, so you can consider running them to hit with x4 supereff. damage on typical switch ins such as Gyarados or Salamence. If you like this idea, you can run this set:

marowak-alola.gif

Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 68 HP / 252 Atk / 188 SpA
Brave Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Shadow Bone
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

Even will-O-wisp and Perish Song , with more a more defensive oriented set, are good choices, the first to threaten physical mons for the same reason written upwards, the second to deal with Baton Pass teams.

I hope this helped a bit.

Thanks for the response but the real reason why i didnt add any ub's or tapu's are because I dont have any correct nature's or iv's for them so i dont use them at all. I didnt want to to restart because i completed the pokedex for the first time but i can see what you mean with everything else. Final question is it ok just to use the aquarnid setup off of smogon tier list?

Yeah, or you can take this one:

araquanid.jpg
@ Mystic Water / Wacan Berry / Choice Band
Ability: Water Bubble
Brave Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
- Liquidation
- Lunge
- Toxic / Scald / Filler attack
- Mirror Coat

Anyway you are welcome :) I'm pretty sure that you can find some Adamant Bulu around, even in the forum or in the wifi room
