I want you to rate this team I made for the International Challenge June. I made it based on 3 pairs, as it follows:
1. The KeyBlade
Klefki @ Light Clay
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Foul Play
- Thunder Wave
Aegislash @ Weakness Policy
Trait: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- King's Shield
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Sneak
- Iron Head
This is my main pair, and the one I'll always pick + one of the other two pairs (You'll see the reason). While they may seem pretty weak to Fire and Ground, Klefki can diminish this weakness with his priority defensive boosts, and it helps Aegislash to get an insane boost by Swords Dance + Weakness Policy activation, almost every first round, and by the cost of less than half of his HP most of the times. When the boost is reached, Aegislash can start sweeping and Klefki will keep shielding / paralyzing / attacking Ghost, Psychic and boosted foes with Foul Play. Klefki's boosts are also very helpful for the next pair:
2. Have You Ever Seen The Rain?
Manectric @ Manectite
Trait: Lightningrod
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Thunder
- Rain Dance
Kingdra @ Choice Specs
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Scald
- Dragon Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
I use overheat when Grass/Steel enemies are on the opponent's first pick, since they think there's nothing I can do to OHKO them, and then comes the surprise. Other than that, I start by Rain Daince, which will increase Thunder's accuracy and allow Kingdra to Start it's sweeping duty. Volt Switch is to keep momentum and keep screwing the foe's attack with Intimidate. Sometimes I wait to mega evolve him after I get the advantage over Lightningrod over a well predicted switch.
For Kingdra, Scald is my main choice. Ice Beam for most dragons and Dragon Pulse for Goodra and Haxorus. Hydro Pump is my late-game-desperate-measure, since I HATE to rely on low accuracy moves. Her Sinergy with Klefki is also beautiful.
2. Kahn and her Bird
Talonflame @ Choice Band
Trait: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Will-O-Wisp
Kangaskhan @ Kangaskhanite
Trait: Scrappy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Hardy Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- Power-Up Punch
- Sucker Punch
Great Sinergy and sweeping capability. Talonflame can deal with Lucario and Conkeldurr, while Kangaskhan can do big damage to Tyranitar with P-UP, and also hit hard almost anything in the game.
Comments:
This team seems to be pretty good. Great weakness covering, and the benefits I can get from switching makes it really fun to play.
The problems I have faced:
1. Ferrothorn can be impossible to deal with if I pick the Kanga/Talon pair
2. Trick Room is really difficult to deal with.
3. Other pranksters, especially the ones which have access to Taunt.
4. Scarfed Dragons and Fairies
And I leave the rest up to you :)
