I want to preface this by saying that if you use this team without reading the descriptions, you will not exploit the true potential of this comp.
In addition, the only reason this team is Pokebank OU is due to Skarmory using Defog. (And thank you for reading and commenting)!
Twista Rounds (Rotom-Wash) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Trick
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
Rotom has several jobs, on top of being one of the most important players for this team (not MVP though ^^). Now, I used Rotom-W in Gen V as well. He's dependable, adorable, and most importantly, annoying! Somewhat of an Anti-lead, his main goal is to pass off Choice Scarf to someone who may not appreciate it. :P (My favorite is when I pass it to a Sitrus Berry Trevenant...Rage quitting soon after). Remember, you can't Trick Scarf to Megas! In addition, he is an equally decent pivot Pokemon; using Volt Switch adds much needed momentum for the team. Will-O-Wisp is fantastic in general. Aegislash hates it :D
Rotom will be my lead 90% of the time. Exceptions are when I see opportunity to set up Clefable without any issue.
Disrepect (Chansey) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Aromatherapy
- Thunder Wave
- Soft-Boiled
Not too much to say about her. Special Sponge for the team. I have yet to come across a special sweeper that can penetrate Chansey's massive health pool. Regardless of typing, Chansey can tank four Focus Blasts from a Mega Alakazam before dropping. THE DISRESPECT. In addition to being impossible to OHKO (by Specials of course) she keeps the team nice and healthy with Aromatherapy; which is VERY important for this comp (No Para-hax Today).
Speaking of Para-hax. T-WAVE :D probably one of the most broken moves in the game, for real. 100% accuracy, seriously? Will-o-Wisp doesn't have perfect accuracy. Easy strat with Chansey: Switch her out into a Special sweeper, whether they switch or not, throw out a T-Wave for free Para-Hax. :D
Real Slim Shady (Clefable) @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 8 SAtk / 248 HP / 252 Def
Modest Nature
- Moonlight/Soft Boiled
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Flamethrower
Will the Real Slim Shady please stand up? If I get to set up on you, you're done, game over. Clefable a is an absolute monster this Gen with it's addition to the Fairy family. It's massive move pool allows Clefable to run a multitude of move sets. This one in particular I've had the most success with in synergy with the team. The EVs in Defense allow him to take a STAB Iron head from an Excadrill, and turn around and deal massive damage with Flamethrower. The most common check I've encounted with Clefable is TalonFlame. With resistances to both Moonblast and Flamethrower, Clefairy will most certainly lose the trade.
You Wont (Skarmory) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spd
Bold Nature
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
- Defog/Spikes
- Roost
Oh, were you expecting to set up on me? That's cute. Sorry Baton Passers, Hazards, and Physical Sweepers, Skarmory's here to ruin your day make your life just a little harder. His massive bulk allow him to tank Aegislash all day, and Whirlwind him out if he tries to set up a SD. Defog for them hazards (mainly Sticky Web. Can't have that)! And people still think it's safe to switch in to their Heracross, only to find out that it get OHKO by Brave Bird, sorry. :(
the impending question: Both walls and Clefable are susceptible to Talonflame? How do you deal with him? We'll get to that, but Skarmory can still tank at least one Flare Blitz from Talonflame before tossin out a Whirlwind. Don't worry though, there is a plan for you Talonflame fanatics out there! (Besides Rotom of course)
In da mouth (Garchomp) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Fire Fang
- Iron Head
SURPRISE I'M FASTER. The Scarfed Garchomp, It's hard to see it coming. you don't entirely know for sure until your second Pokemon dies to Outrage. You thought you could speed me, couldn't you, Greninja? :P
Mainly here for Outrage spam. Garchomp takes most teams by surprise when they switch into their Specs Latios and take an outrage IN DA MOUTH. Yes, this thing can out speed most sweepers in OU currently. Pick your battles with him though, you don't want to be stuck in outrage with a Rocky Helmet Ferrothorn, or worse, a fairy! And if they do have a Fairy, an Iron Head prediction goes a long way. :)
Dip Set (Lucario) (M) @ Lucarionite
Ability: Steadfast
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Close Combat/Bullet Punch
- Crunch/Earthquake
Theme Song:
The Diplomats - Crunk Muzik
MVP - He can EASILY 6-0 team with Extreme Speed alone. After a +2 from SD, he can OHKO any Talonflame. Oh I'm sorry, you thought you had priority? Yeah Naw my B. If he ever gets a chance to set up a SD, it's game over. I've recently switched Bullet Punch for Close Combat and interchanged Crunch and EQ. I've found the most success with this move set, however. With Crunch, he's able to One Shot the Trevenants where he otherwise wouldn't (with SD of course)
Checks and Counters: Most physical Fire and Electric sweepers. Though not very common (outside Talonflame). Other than that, there haven't been many hard counters to this team I've seen through testing.
I'd like to add, this team revolves mainly around prediction and switch manipulation. What I mean is that with this team, you have the power to control who THEY switch into. With the Chaos Rotom-W causes, on top of spongy walls, it's not hard to predict who their switch in will be (generally). You'll be switching in and out A LOT with this comp, hence the reason I run Defog and a Rotom with Volt Switch.
Thank you all for reading and assessing my team. I'm breeding it as we speak on my game :D I am open to all constructive criticism regarding team comp, movesets, strats. And I am willing to sub out a couple members for more suitable pokemon. Clefable was the latest addition, I've already tested with Gengar, Greninja and several of the other popular Special sweepers with not as much success. Anyway, thanks again!
