RMT: Heating Things Up

Hello there. My name is SpiralSwords and I've been playing competitive pokemon for a couple of years though it's mostly been on and off. However, my interest in competitive pokemon is at an all-time high because of a competitive scene at my college. It's been hard breeding Pokemon mostly because I'm starting from the ground up. Good thing Pokemon Showdown exists so I can playtest on OU. The scene follows most of Smogon's rules. As such, when making some comments, please keep in mind the following limitations that the scene has before I can compete:

-No Legendaries because their reasoning for it is that it's too hard for some people to RNG the perfect legendaries in-game.
-Only one pokemon with a sleeping move can be on a team. Weird right?
-Item Clause (No Duplicate items)
-Pokemon needs to be born in XY regardless of whether or not it's not native to it.

Other than that, it's like XY OU. So let's get started!

azumarill.gif

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Superpower
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Waterfall

I need a revenge Killer than can force switches and Azumarill does that job pretty well. A standard Choice Band set that does exactly what I need it to. I chose Waterfall because I don't really like Superpower's DEF/SDEF drop and when I did run it, I would get slaughtered on the it's intended targets (namely Tyranitar). I guess it might be a little weird running it with T-Tar and Charizard-Y since their repespective weathers don't do much for it, but Azumarill still gets the job done for the most part. I don't plan on parting with this pokemon any time soon because I already breeded for the Perfect IVs.

ferrothorn.gif

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball

Seeing as the Majority of my pokemon force switches (though I guess that can be said for any well-planned counter), I needed someone who could put the pressure on the switch via Hazards. Ferrothorn does his job as a Hazard setter and the occasional Gyro Ball KO is pretty good too. I've been tempted to replace Power Whip with Thunder Wave since it hasn't done very much for me. Rocky Helmet+Iron Barbs are pretty amazing together. Since Ferrothorn is more Speciall Defensive, it's nice surprise for the physical pokemon that think they can take advantage of it only to be weakened and have Azumarill or Tyranitar take it down with ease.

mandibuzz.gif

Mandibuzz (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Foul Play
- Roost
- Taunt
- Defog
Definitely the best team player I've ever had the pleasure of using. Arguably the best Physical counter I've played. I've destroyed so many physical pokemon that think they can wallbreak it only to be destroyed by Foul Play. Roost and Leftovers make it so Bulky. Plus, Defog makes the lives of my teammates so much easier! Take down their stealth rock (which is usually a strong physical pokemon) and have Ferrothorn set some Hazards. Ferrothorn and Mandibuzz form a strong defensive core in my team that can be tough to break given the other members of my team. Also, Overcoat is nice for Breloom and sleep powder Venusaur.

charizard-megay.gif

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Solar Beam
- Fire Blast
- Focus Blast
- Roost
I seriously used to think that Charizard-X was the better pokemon simply due to better typing and what I thought to be a better ability. However, at the suggestion of the friend who introduced me to college's scene, I playtested Y and I couldn't be more surprised. An amazing wallbreaker that many pokemon cannot switch into, especially after stealth rock damage. I chose Timid just to have a little more speed to outspeed Garchomp, a pokemon who does indeed give my team more trouble than I care to admit. Also, Focus Blast is just not doing what I hope it does. Crucial KOs are gone because of it's shaky accuracy and due to my inability to hit Dragons super effectively, I might replace it with Dragon Pulse. Also, FWG core is pretty fantastic (Azumarill, Charizard-Y, and Ferrothorn)

tyranitar.gif

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

While this seems odd because I have Charizard-Y for weather, it has put in some work against some of the pokemon that give me trouble, namely Aegislash and Talonflame. Plus, it's pretty hilarious to throw it out against opposing Charizard-Y when they're against Azumarill. Also, it's not that bad as a Mega- Venusaur check if they're defensive. Rendering Syntheis useless is pretty cool, though it has to be weakened first before I can do anything useful. That being said, a wrong prediction against Aegislash can completely screw me over.

gengar.gif

Gengar @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Disable
- Substitute

Oddly enough, my college scene hasn't banned Mega-Gengar yet, but I digress. This Gengar can block most Gliscor variants and Breloo-Variants. It hits pretty hard and can pretty much deal with any pokemon that tries to induce any sort of status on it. Disable is just icing on the cake to deal with any Choice users. Also, considering I'm using Hazards, spin-blocking is pretty important, but it's odd that I've not encountered any Rapid Spinners.

Threat lists:
Dragons-Maybe not exactly a huge threat, but aside from Ferrothorn, I've nothing to defend against Dragons. Garchomp is a pretty big Dragon that can pretty much wreck this team if Charizard-Y is down, or Azumarill is gonna stare it down without Stealth Rocks. Same for Dragonite.

Tyranitar-Tyranitar is actually pretty strong against this team despite Charizard carrying Focus Blast

Blissey/Chansey-Don't get me wrong; Azumarill and Tyranitar CAN deal with it, but without a super effective hit, I'm never gonna have a chance to OHKO it even with Stealth Rocks. Maybe I should run Superpower on Azumarill just for this.

If you guys can point out other potential threats (Under limitations I put). feel free to. All suggestions and constructive criticisms are accepted. Be harsh, but fair if it comes down to it. Thanks in advance.
