RMT ideas welcome :)

hi, this is my first try at writing a smogon RMT so i hope i goes ok.

team building process..

lead.

snorlax.png

for a lead a wanted a pokemon who could use a grass, dark, ground, electric attack, to counter most comman leads after trying a special lucario i decided to use/try a snorlax. it can handle most leads and normal takes a hit and skrikes back with a super effective move, problem leads to snorlax are infernape and other strong fighting types.

so i needed a pokemon to take a fighting attack and be able to do damage back so i added a......
gengar.png

now i have a pokemon who can switch into the incoming fighting move and strike back with a poweful stab move of my own.

now i wanted to find a pokemon who could deal with the dragons so a naturely choice was.....

starmie.png

this powerful quick gem :P...added great coverage to the team and a powerful ice beam to aim at the dragons, i thought a starmie was a great inclusion due to fact it can take out gyarados and salamance before a DD, and due to not having stealth rock the pair can become a pain.

now having to ghost weak pokemon and a poke that cant really damage them was worrying me so i wanted a quick ghost type/move that could worry the rotoms or fellow gengars out there, so i picked....

jolteon.png

this quick little jolteon, giving me speed and great special attacks to use, run riot late game, and being a great dragon/ghost/water killer.

now i wanted a main sweeper and after using a lot in past teams i decided on using....

lucario.png

great resistances and type coverage just seemed to drop into the team and do what it does best sweep.

now i had a main lead,sweeper,3special sweeps i wasnt sure on what to add but i went for a scout in....
flygon.png

probly the main poke i'm onsure on but it is doing a good job, taking care of steels, psychics and two very powerful stab moves, with the luxuary of being able to scout.

without any more delays here is the team in depth -

name:Snorlax
Nature:Jolly
Ability:Thick Fat
Item:Life orb
Evs:252 A/230 D/ 28 SPD
Move 1:Seed Bomb
Move 2:Thunder Punch
Move 3: Earthquake
Move 4:Crunch

most people expect a cure snorlax and taut first turn which gives me a free switch or normal a free OHKO or sash activated, i do use him as a suicide lead unless he has enough HP to come out late game and be a problem.great gyarados counter, saved me a few times as dose gets a dd on switch but snorlaxs takes the hit and OHKO back. i am unsure on the Evs due to making them up myself so advice would be nice...only trouble leads are roseade, breloom, infernape

name:Gengar
Nature:Modest
Ability:Levitate
Item:Choice specs
Evs: 252Speed/252SpA/6Hp
Move 1: HP fight
Move 2: Shadow Ball
Move 3: Thunderbolt
Move 4: Energy Ball

great poke, takes the earthquakes aimed at jolteon and fires back a energy ball and takes the fighing moves aimed at snorlax, i chose HP fight because it can take out Tyranitar and most steels which is a bonus and better acuracy than focus blast, shadow ball is for main stab if no over moves hurts the foe more and thunderbolt is for coverage.

name:Starmie
Nature:Modest
Ability:Natural Cure
Item:Expert belt
Evs:252spa/252speed/6spd
Move 1:thunderbolt
Move 2:Grass knot
Move 3:surf
Move 4:Ice beam

main dragon killer used to take them out with speed and power, thunderbolt to make the "bolt-beam" combination for great coverage, surf for grounds and stab and ice beam for dragons and grasses, starmie is my main hope agaisnt grass types and so far starmie always comes ontop :)

name:Jolteon
Nature:Timid
Ability:Volt absorb
Item:Leftovers
Evs:252speed/252spa/6d
Move 1:thunderbolt
Move 2:HP Ice
Move 3:Shadow ball
Move 4:Toxic

great stab thunderbolt, shadow ball for ghost and psys and Hp ice again to complete the "bolt-beam" combo, toxic is a filler waiting to swap but duno what for? i use jolteon normaly late game and try finish of what lucario and the rest leave. great revange killer.

name:Lucario
Nature:Jolly
Ability:Inner focus
Item:leftovers
Evs:252a/252speed/6 d
Move 1:close combat
Move 2:swords dance
Move 3:extremespeed
Move 4:Ice Punch

my main sweeper, unsure on the item?? switch in when safe perform a swords dance or two then sweep as much as possible, not really much more to say just a stadard SD lucario

name:Flygon
Nature:Adamant
Ability:lavitate
Item: choice scarf
Evs:252 a/ 252speed/6 spd
Move 1:outrage
Move 2:earthquake
Move 3:fire punch
Move 4:u-turn

again mainly used late game or when needed, powerfull stab but main purpose early game is to scout and take care of scizor and psychics. fire punch is for steels and main attack is outrage once i'm kinda sure all steels have been removed.

well theres my team so far....i am willing to change and improve but i am not willing to use any kind of ledendary which incluce rotoms/latios etc, i just get no enjoyment out using "special" pokes i like using the normal every day poke and going for glory :P

cheers for your time and happy rating :)

Your team is made mostly of extremely frail pokemon that are easily OHKOed by faster pokes or priority moves. I would suggest replacing Starmie with Latias. This provides some needed balance on the team and has some valuable resistances for this team. Also, after a calm mind or two, it is a very effective sweeper that can outspeed most opposing dragons (excluding scarfed variants or kingdra in the rain, which Starmie can't outspeed anyway) and proceed to KO.

Ice punch on lucario would be more effective as the main reason to use stone edge is to hit salamence and gyarados; Jolteon easily handles gyarados and ice punch is stronger against salamence and KOs gliscor.

Hello ashez, I don't really get the concept of using a Snorlax lead. It seems really silly, most common leads like Forretress, Azelf, Roserade, and ec... will laugh at the attempt of Snorlax as a lead. I highly suggest you remove Snorlax for a lead Mix Swampert as I think it has decent synergy with the team, it can obviously set up stealth rock which you really need.

Also, your Gengar DOES not need HP Fighting at all, since Scarf Tar will already outspeed you and pursuit Gengar to its death. Instead run a sub painsplit Gengar, its highly effective and has been getting popular now, run it with Shadow Ball and Focus Blast. On Jolteon give it Life Orb instead and run a charge beam set, get rid of toxic as Jolteon won't really be able to toxic something, and that is not Jolteon's purpose.
On Lucario, Crunch > Stone Edge. Your team can handle Gyarados or any flying types and again give Luke Life Orb. Flygon needs Jolly to outspeed DD Mence and common scarf Jirachi's that carry Ice Punch.

This team needs a bit of work but I hope it does well for you.

I think your team has a DD gyarados weakness. Take off jolteon and adding a scarf latias will help a lot. Like sce4 said, your team is extremely frail, so I m recommending a bulky scarf latias.

at the moment i'm happy with snorlax as a lead because he is so different and like i said people expect a curse so they taut while i hit back with a super effective hit...snorlax today has taken out countless swamperts, azelf etc with one hit, and can take out metagross etc out in 2hits, most leads taut then stealth rock then attack giving me 1-3 free turns to attack.

the Hp fighting has really bein effect agaisnt steels and tyranitars, i see your point though so will keep my eye onit and see what i think.

i defo agree with flygons nature change and lucarios move change so will edit them in shortly.

i no my team is fail its why i'm asking for help to bulk it up abit....but i did say i'm not interested in using any legendaires i no there good and all that but i want a team of just regular pokemon.

Well its your choice not to use Legendaries but why handicap yourself?

Well Jolteon could run charge beam over toxic to sweep late game or you could run specs and give it Baton Pass over Toxic so that you can dry pass.

Also give Lucario Life Orb over Leftovers and Crunch over Ice Punch as Crunch hits Celebi just as Hard and also covers Ghosts.

You could use CS Tar or Rotom H to help stop your Gyarados weakness.

Again without changing most of the team it is difficult to stop threats to your team without using Legendaries.
