Hey, so my friends and I are having a small tournament at the end of the month and I hope to get as much input as possible on fine tuning my team. Any suggestions/changes to the team are totally welcome.

Lead:
140bslz.png

Infernape @ Focus Sash
64 Atk/ 252 spA/ 192 Spe
Naive Nature
-Fake Out
-Stealth Rock
-Fire Blast
-Close Combat

A lot more efficient than Ambipom while still having the Fake Out aspect that I liked. He also has Stealth Rock which allows me to set up hazards early for my other pokes or even Infernape himself to beat down. I realized his weakness to water, so I decided to recycle...

674kyr.png

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
188 hp/ 252 def/ 68 Spe
Bold Nature
-Protect
-Surf
-Wish
-Roar

I decided to keep Vaporeon because its bulk allows it to come in on various attacks and heal my other pokemon as well as itself. I replaced Toxic with Roar to phaze out different pokemon into my SR's. Since it is obviously frail to Electric attacks, I then chose...

makuax.png

Jolteon @ Life Orb
252 spA/252 spe/4 def
Timid nature
-Charge Beam
-Thunder Bolt
-Shadow Ball
-HP Grass

I like the fact that it can switch in on Electric attacks and heal its own LO injuries. Charge Beam gives it a chance to bulk up and possibly do some late game sweeping. Since it is weak to ground attacks and many pokemon run Earthquake, I then chose...

s1uao4.png

Salamence @ Life Orb
232 Atk / 24 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Roost

I realized that I needed a late game threat that can come in and stomp on almost anything. Salamence seemed like the perfect fit. With 1 Dragon Dance, a STAB'd Outrage can almost guarantee a 1HKO on something weakened by SR. I have Roost to offset the damage from LO. Seeing that it could be tough to get a DD off, I decided to recycle...

Breloom
@ Toxic Orb
EVs: 252 Atk/208 Spe/48 HP
Nature: Adamant
- Spore
- Focus Punch
- Seed Bomb
- Thunder Punch

Having a skill that has a 100% chance to sleep the foe is great news for my Salamence and its ability to DD. Seed Bomb & Focus Punch already pack severe STAB damage on by themselves and there's Thunder Punch in to put a dent in Water/Flying types, especially Gyarados. I now see that enemy SR could be a problem for me, Jolteon in particular, so I decided to go with...

Donphan @ Leftovers
52 HP / 252 Atk / 204 Def
Adamant Nature
-Rapid Spin
-EarthQuake
-Assurance
-Ice Shard

Being both a sturdy physical defender and reliable Rapid Spinner, he seemed like the perfect choice. Earthquake utilizes his high base attack stat and I'm running Ice Shard since I don't have any other ice attack. Since his base speed is very very low, Assurance takes full advantage of that almost guaranteeing 100 base power.

I hope this team fairs better with you guys and please let me know of anything you would change.

There are multiple things wrong with this team. First, it has formulaic spots for "physical sweeper," "special wall," et cetera, not taking team synergy into account. Your sweepers do not have enough support to work, and your walls will rarely be walling a whole team. Your sweepers are not even sweepers--they cannot set up stat boosts to knock out multiple Pokemon in a row. This team has no way to finish the job after weakening the opponents' Pokemon. Also, this team lacks Stealth Rock. Stealth Rock is a necessity for all teams nowadays, else you will be swept by Pokemon like Salamence and Gyarados when they can switch in and out with impunity. Magmortar will hardly break through stall teams when Latias can switch in easily and OHKO it. This team is also weak to some common OU threats: a well-played Rotom-A, Lucario, or Salamence could take out almost your whole team. This team will not work. Start over.

yeah s. call is right, this team can't be fixed without starting it from scratch. none of your pokemon work together right either, and since you're not playing sprinkles offense you've got no excuse for that. however if your sole goal is to beat your friends then i can offer some advice. if they're anything like you you can run a simple rain dance team and steamroll them, since there's a high possibility they won't be running anything too...good. rip legacy raider's rain dance team, or hell, just look for one in this forum cause they're all pretty much the same

Okay, so I took your guys' comments into consideration and I would like to thank you guys for the constructive criticism. I reconstructed my team and was wondering what you thought.

let's see what we can do

first of all use substitute over thunderpunch on breloom, substitute basically gives you a free focus punch and stops a scarfer from ruining your breloom

don't know what salamence is doing with satk evs considering it doesn't have any actual special attacks. roost is a nice option but you have wish from vaporeon to top off salamence's hp. i wouldn't normally suggest this but i think this is a good opportunity to use a mixed dancer, which blasts holes for your jolteon to sneak through like mixmence, but at the same time keeping the possibility of a late game sweep hovering over your opponent

Salamence (M) @ Life Orb
EVs: 80 Atk/252 SAtk/176 Spd
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Draco Meteor

this is the best mence for taking advantage of spore. you'll usually dragon dance to bring in swampert, then nail it with draco meteor. after that you can cruise with outrage and earthquake. this leaves you open to levitating steels, but luckily they're beaten by this fellow, who you will use over donphan

Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
EVs: 244 HP/32 SAtk/12 SDef/220 Spd
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Torment
- Protect
- Substitute
- Lava Plume

this gives you the dragon resist your team is begging for, and it trips over choiced pokemon like tyranitar and scizor that hit your team hard. you can use this to set up your salamence or breloom. i guess tormentran is the glue for your team

only other thing i can think of is substitute over charge beam on jolteon but you're a better late game sweeper with charge beam. do as you wish

Your descriptions do not meet the criteria set by rule 3.

3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.

Your descriptions barely tell the rater why you chose each pokemon or anything like that. If you manage to fix these descriptions up, PM me them and i'll unlock this.
