[RMT]: Let's all convert to UU! Then they'll be OUs. :P

Like many others in smogon, I have turned to the underused tier because of how boring OU has become(to me). I've have recently started so all criticism is appreciated. My team's objective is to set up spikes, stall and weaken the opponent until Froslass and Altaria are ready to sweep. Without further adieu, the team.

Luxuria (Froslass) (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

Froslass's my lead and she kills most Nidoqueen leads who try to set up Toxic Spikes. She's also my anti-spinner. She hits hard with her stab Ice Beam and Shadow ball and has Thunderbolt and Hidden Power fighting for immense coverage.

Avartia (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Wish
- Light Screen
- Seismic Toss

Clefable's this team's main special wall, Spiker and Wish passer with Light screen support. Unfortunately, she lacks much ability to do anything back so Seismic toss is there for reliable damage.

Gula (Drapion) (M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Knock Off
- Crunch
- Whirlwind
- Toxic Spikes

Drapion's here to take physical hits along with Hitmontop and spread out some toxic spikes. Whirlwind is there since my team needs a phazer. It also helps to poison things. Crunch is my prefered stab move as it prevents Hypnos and Grumpigs from walling my Special sweepers.

dpmfa237.png

Ira (Hitmontop) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rapid Spin
- Close Combat
- Bullet Punch
- Stone Edge

Hitmontop's my rapid spinner. He's also here to take care of my Clefable problems and take some hits for the team. Close combat and Stone Edge provide good coverage while bullet punch helps to revenge kill a weakened Froslass.

dpmfa334.png

Superbia (Altaria) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 72 HP/252 Atk/184 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Roost/Draco meteor

Altaria's my team's physical sweeper, with roost to keep healthy. Dragon Claw and Earthqauke have quite a good coverage in UU and Flamethrower isn't needed as much. Hence, I was thinking Roost in the last slot, but Draco meteor does take some of the physical walls down. Or perhaps I could try Life orb on Altaria with Roost.

dpffsb181.png

Acedia (Ampharos) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 HP/120 Def/136 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Discharge
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Reflect
- Heal Bell

Ampharos is my team's bulky sweeper, cleric and supporter. Reflect allows him to stay in on earthquakes and kill back with his bolt-beam combo. He receives Wishes from Clefable to help him stay alive. He takes electric and steel typed attacks for the team.

So that's my team.

i would personally go for Draco Meteor over Roost on Superbia, mainly because you have wish support and lefties anyway.. in this case.. use Naughty nature..

Is that a deadly sin theme I see going on? The team is very well balanced, but I propose another sweeper with more speed be added. Altaria is a good Dragon Dancer, but I often find it killed before it can setup.

How much does Draco meteor do to a physical wall? I mean, most of UU's steel physical walls, the nidos and drapion die to EQ.

Yeah, couldn't think of another theme. Really? Who should I replace? Altaria's basically filler and I would forgo him anytime as soon as another sweeper comes about. I prefer bulky sweepers to frail ones.

If you like bulky sweepers, Kabutops, Armaldo, Poliwrath and Luxray (with Intimidate) are all good choices. Another thing: Clefable really like CM and Ice Beam in those last two slots, just a thought.

Bulky sweepers?

-Swords Dance Leafeon
-DD Lapras
-Rock Polish Armaldo
-Kangaskhan
-CM Drifblim
-Rock Polish Relicanth
-Belly Drum Poliwrath
-Rain Dance Gorebyss or Agility/CM
-Luxray

And to an extent, I suppose Sunnybeam Vileplume and Quick Feet Granbull can be made into pretty bulky sweepers too.

Calm mind? I see a use for it, but Ice beam gets walled alot. And it can't seem to stay in on those who resist it, such as Aggron. And I'd really hate for Light screen to go since drapion and hitmontop aren't exactly spectacular in that department.

Thank you very much for that wonderful list. I think Kangaskhan or Leafeon would do well over Altaria's place. I think I should replace my spinner. :/ Claydol looks good but I don't want too much pursuit weak.

Lucky for you Pursuit is actually rarer in UU, Swellow is the only common user of it (though preferring U-Turn) and occasionally TechnicianTop. Main reason being is most of the UU's just don't have strong enough stats and weak enough movepools to justify it. The Dark's in UU have more reliable moves at their disposal and just aren't bulky enough to scare most things into a switch.

Your team seems quite strong to me.

I noticed you put that OU has become boring, well UU is going to aswell. It's pretty much the same as OU, exept with different pokemon.

The only suggestion I have are that you may want to replace specs for orb on Froslass for the ability to switch between moves. Getting stuck on 1 move sometimes is a pain.

I noticed that and Life orb with spikes does a number to her. I just don't like LO on her. However, I'll try it out. Destiny bond could work over HP:Fighting since she can take down something before she dies.
