ORAS OU RMT Megazard Y team

So I'm completely new to both smogon forums and general competitive battling so please don't be afraid to tell me if I'm doing something badly wrong. Anyways, this is the first is the first team I've made for this kind of thing and I've been testing it out with varying levels of success any help as well as constructive is very welcome!

Red-Eyes (Charizard-Mega-Y) (M) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Drought
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Solar Beam
- Fire Blast
- Focus Blast
- Roost

so Charizard Y is just so cool and he wrecks people so hard with fire blast. Solar beam is great as its one-turn and helps with his water weakness. I know some people run dragon pulse but focus blast seems to work much better for hitting things like heatran which it struggles to get over otherwise. plus there are other dragon killers in the team. Roost I haven't used as much as I though I would but it his helpful for sucker punch and/or protect mind games and recovery is good ofc. EVs and nature are for max speed + special attack

Blue-eyes (Latios) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Defog
- Psyshock
- Surf

Latios is here to defog if necessary (cos obviously charizard hates rocks) but he also kicks out a lot of hurt if needed. Draco meteor hits like a truck with life orb and psyshock is for special walls and obviously both are STAB. Surf is reliable coverage. EVs are for the same reason as charizard and timid is particularly useful here for outspeeding things

RAWR (Landorus-Therian) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 196 HP / 96 Atk / 216 Def
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

This guy more often than not is the lead. He has rocks cos rocks and U-turn so he can get outta there once he's thrown said rocks so i can use him later. Earthquake is powerful STAB and stone adge is powerful coverage. I've made him quite bulky so he can act as a physical wall (intimidate is beautiful on him) and then hit back as well. leftovers help with recovery as always.

Killer Mole (Excadrill) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic

Excadrill is another tank similar to landorus but instead of throwing rocks he gets rid of them cos again, charizard (and weavile and landorus) hates rocks. earthquake is powerful STAB and iron head is fairy killing STAB (something i porbably need more of). Toxic I threw on him so he could poison them then stall a bit but He's not as durable as I had hoped so I'm considering switching it out for something else, any suggestions welcome.

FacePalmtree (Venusaur) (M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leech Seed
- Toxic
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb

Ahhh he is so much fun to play with when the sun is out. just spamming all the recovery while the opponent is leeched to death is too fun, and he can just keep giga draining away too. Sludge bomb is also good STAB and helpful for those pesky fairies.

Squealer (Weavile) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Pursuit

He's pretty much a revenge killer who can go for a sweep now and then depending on what Pokemon the opponent has left. knock off is a useful STAB for dealing damage and getting rid of items. Icicle crash is for STAB and just slaughtering dragons. Ice shard is nice STAB priority for finishing weakend pokes and pursuit means he is perfect for switching into a psychic (eg from venusaur who doesn't fancy a supereffective psychic) as he takes no damage then KOs them as they try to flee.

So yeah that's the team, I'm not sure if I've done everything right so please correct me on any mistakes. Main problems with the team are things like fairies with HP ices thrown in the mix beacuse a lot of my team dies to ice. Another problem I have faced is being swept by mega manetric. electric kills charizard, fire moves kill excadrill and venasaur, and HP ice gets landorus. I will gladly accept any suggestions on how to deal with these. Anyways thansk very much everyone!

Hi, thanks for replying so quickly. I do quite like the idea of the dual weather core thing, particularly the sand rush excadrill. I had been thinking about making my venusaur more aggressive too and i guess if ferothorn takes over defensive responsibilities then that could be pretty nifty. My concern is that with slowbro and tyranitar replacing latios and weavile, I no longer have many things to kill dragons with. A stone edge from tyranitar will do the trick vs dragonite and salamence etc but I can see things like mega altaria and the lati twins being a bit of an issue. Would it be an option to squeeze some HP ice or ice punches in somewhere (tyranitar for example)? Thanks again for helping out!

Hi, cool team.

Run offensive set
Since charizard y will be setting up the sun you might as well take advantage of it with an offensive venusaur that can show off its powerful stabs combined with a nice speed stat in the sun. Defensive regular venusaur really doesnt help much considering toxic and leech seed dont help your team that much and without a way of recovering it is pointless to run a defensive venusaur instead of an offensive life orb one

Run Metagross over Excadrill
Metagross is a really cool addition for this team. It is a great trapper for the lati's and can tank any fairy type attack with ease. Metagross also helps you with kyurem opposing venusaurs and dragonite.

keldeo instead of weavile
keldeo can help you beat bisharp and weavile which would otherwise run straight through your team. Keldeo can also take advantage of metagross trapping lati and metagross walling the fairy types that can switch in on keldeo's attacks. Having keldeo on a team with zard y isnt a big problem since charizard and venusaur will be hogging the sun turns regardless.

Fix Sets
Surf wont help on latios since the sun will probably be up and you now have a keldeo to fire off stronger water type moves. Instead you should run Roost over Surf this will allow you to be able to heal up and let your team have a better way on handling charizard y and keldeo. Landorus-T should run a more defensive spread with max defense and rocky helmet since your team relies on landorus to handle threats like lopunny, charizard x and excadrill.
