Hey everyone
KM888 here with another team I made. I'm helping a friend of mine to build her a team round the all-powerful Mega Charizard X. However, I've been busy with other stuff, so Pokémon isn't my strongest virtue anymore and now I need some help lol.
I'll jump straight into the team since it only consists at the moment of the first 6 Pokémon that came to mind to form a decent team.
Before I start giving all the sets, I should explain that all sets are calculated at level 50. Which means some EV choices could be different from those of level 100 sets. Lets start.
The team has been formed thanks to the brilliant core of Mega Zard X / Ferrothorn / Azumarill, which on their own are 2 COREs. You can clearly see the popular Fire / Grass / Water core, while the Dragon / Steel / Fairy core is also here. It's pretty nice :)
Charizard @ CharizarditeX
Blaze -> Touch Claws
Adamant
Flare Blitz | Dragon Claw | Roost | Dragon Dance
124 HP | 252 Atk | 136 Spe
124 HP makes it more Bulky, and gives it an uneven HP number @ Lv 50, so I can set up on Rotom-Wash and Bisharp. 252 Atk for sheer power, and the rest in Speed. I used to run a spread of 244 Atk / 44 Def / 220 Spe to try and do the same, but I'm still testing what could be better.
Flare Blitz and Dragon Claw are the main STABs. Heatran walls this to a great extent, though they don't know emmediatly if I'm running EQ or not. Roost if for longevity and Dragon Dance to set up when needed.
Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Iron Barbs
Relaxed
Power Whip | Gyro Ball | Stealth Rock | Leech Seed
252 HP | 108 Def | 148 SpD
0 IVs Speed
At level 50, giving Ferrothorn 148 SpD instead of 140, seems to be a breaking point. It's the point where you suddenly take a lot less damage from a lot of moves. HP [Fire] comming from the standard LO Latios can't OHKO ya (after rocks), while ya retain as much physical bulk as possible to become the Physical Wall of the team. This is also why Ferrothorn has gotten 252 HP and 108 Def with a Relaxed nature.
Power Whip to have a decent attacking move. Gyro Ball to do massive damage to the likes of Lati@s, Kyurem-B and a lot of other fast Pokémon.
Stealth Rock as it is the most important move in the game, and Leech Seed is this Ferrothorn's form of Recovery.
Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Huge Power
Adamant
Waterfall | Play Rough | Knock Off | Aqua Jet
204 HP | 252 Atk | 4 Def | 44 SpD | 4 Spe
252 EVs in Attack to make it as powerfull as can be. With 204 HP you hit 201 HP at level 50, which makes it so you can't be 4HKO'd with Seismic Toss. 4 EVs in Speed to outspeed Chansey, and to outpriorities Sableye with Aqua Jet (if need be).
At this point it's all the same if I give Azu 44 or 48 Special Defense, cause at level 50 you always need an 8 point difficit to notice a change. This makes it 44 SpD, and I have 4 EVs leftover. The only stat I can actually improve with it is regular Defense, so there it goes.
Waterfall and Play Rough are your main STAB, while Knock Off is there as a move that you can click for benefits (kinda like scald). Aqua Jet to have priority on this slow thing.
Thundurus @ Leftovers
Prankster
Timid
Thunderbolt | HP [Ice] | Nasty Plot | Thunder Wave
4 HP | 252 SpA | 252 Spe
0 IVs Attack and 30 IVs Defense
Thundurus filled in a perfect role in the team. Just firing off strong Electric Moves to weaken stuff, be there as a Ground Immunity and to sponge some Electric hits targeted at Azumarill. When a situation seems dire, T-Wave will be there to save the day.
HP [Ice] gives additional coverage. Nasty Plot gives you an immens power boost, so you can 2HKO the likes of Heatran (while Leftovers makes sure you can't be 2HKO'd by Heatran yourself).
Standard EVs for an offensive Thundurus.
PS: Focus Miss misses :o who knew :S
Latias @ Leftovers
Levitate
Timid
Psychic | Healing Wish | Defog | HP [Fire]
252 HP | 4 SpD | 252 Spe
0 IVs Attack 30 IVs Special Attack and Speed
The Latias set on my team has been the topic of a lot of discussion down below I've seen. I wanted a somewhat more defensive Latias, cause I miss some defense on my team. But Latias also needs to be as fast as possible basically.
Psychic has been chosen on this set, because it is a necessary Psychic-Type move on the team. I chose Psychic over Psyshock, cause I don't really care for opposing walls. The rest of the team is offensive enough to break through those most of the time. I've chose HP [Fire] at the moment as the coverage move, to hit Bisharp on the switch as well as opposing Ferrothorns and Scizor. This move could switch up to a lot of different things, depending on what Pokes I should actually counter.
Healing Wish is there to cure status conditions on your more important team members and fully heal them in the process, while Defog takes care of annoying entry hazards.
Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Justified
Jolly
Close Combat | Stone Edge | Iron Head | Earthquake
4 HP | 252 Atk | 252 Spe
Terrakion was everything the team still needed. A really fast Choice Scarfer which resists Rock and Dark moves, while at the same time retaining a lot of its speed incase of a Knock Off. 252 / 252 is pretty standard.
Close Combat and Stone Edge are primary choices and are amazing on this Mon. Iron Head for Fairies and Earthquake to have the EdgeQuake combo.
I've chose Iron Head at the moment because of the fact I'm Choice Scarfed. I've seen a lot of teams lately where they have a Fairy Type, and switch into a Rock Type to either resist Poison Jab / Stone Edge. With Iron Head, it's actually an easier decision there, since I can still do good damage to whatever comes in. Iron Head can also give you the scumbag flinch, though it shouldn't really be used for it.
Thinking to put X-Scissors on him over Earthquake to deal with Lati@s and Slowbro (to an extent).
~ That was the team. If you have any comments or suggestions, please tell me, since it could help a lot :)
