Hello again! So, as this is my 3rd RMT (all being monotype), i think i have started to get the feel for it. I hope you take the time out of your day to read through this, and enjoy :]
Meta Ridley (Skarmory) (F) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 170 Def / 184 HP / 82 Atk / 72 Spd
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Whirlwind
Standard Skarmory set. The main wall of my team. Single handedly stops most physical attackers, barring stuff like Char X at +1. Whirlwind to stop sweepers, although it can't stop most things, like hax users (+1 MegaDos using waterfall or belly drum Azumarill using waterfall, and i get the flinch ;-;)
American Ridley (Togekiss) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Spd / 248 HP / 8 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Defog
- Heal Bell
- Roost
- Air Slash
I went with a more support set on this one rather than last time. Heal Bell is to stop really, really annoying prankster users that like to paralyze Charizard and Honchkrow. Defog, because you know, flying mono. Air slash for STAB and roost just to make it so i can have my defogger around a little bit longer.
Pimp Ridley (Honchkrow) @ Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Hasty Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Night Slash
- Heat Wave
- Brave Bird
Honchkrow: The replacement of Talonflame. Since Talon's recent ban in OU mono, it's kind of hard coming by a good priority user. Only noticeable ones were this and Banded Dnite. I chose Honchkrow over Dnite for two reasons. One: Multiscale. If Dnite's multiscale gets broken, it'll only get two attacks in. Honchkrow can come back in whenever it wants and just dish out sucker punches and brave birds. 2. Honchkrow has decent type coverage. With a monstrous 125 Base Attack, 5 higher than Staraptor, Honchkrow is a force to be reckoned with. Brave Bird hits stuff like a truck, Sucker Punch for Priority, Night Slash for some more Dark STAB, and Heat Wave for stupid stuff like Ferro. I'm debating switching Heat Wave out for Superpower because Heatran likes to come in and eat my soul.
Fiery Ridley (Charizard) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake
Charizard. The most notable pokemon probably ever to be seen besides Pikachu. With Charizard's new mega's in gen 6, Charizard has been given the buffs it needs. Charizard X is my favorite, and this team needed a Physical Attacker. DDance to usually force a switch, or to predict a switch and get off a kill or two. Fire Punch over Flare Blitz because Recoil can really stack up. Dragon Claw for Dragon STAB and EQ for those pesky heatrans.
Keith (Thundurus) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 3 HP
Timid Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Sludge Wave
First off, that is the wrong forme of Thundurus in the picture. This one is the regular, far better, Thundurus. Prankster T-Wave is really, the greatest thing ever. Annoying stuff like WP Dnite, Char X, Scarf Terrak, and other set up sweepers get instantly crippled when they get T-Waved. HP Ice for other flying types, namely Landorus. Idk why, but Landorus likes to come in on Thundurus, maybe to set up gravity, idk. But it OHKO's regardless. Sludge Wave for coverage, namely Fairy types. T-Bolt for STAB and usually can 2HKO most things. Exca kind of walls this thing though.
Marshmallow Ridley (Landorus) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SAtk / 3 HP / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Gravity
- Earth Power
- Focus Blast
- Psychic
And finally, the largest picture of all, Landorus. This is a really fun set i like to use, to catch stuff like Zapdos off guard. Sash to guarantee that i get off gravity. Tons of flying types are also weak to ground (skarm, zapdos, thundurus). Earth Power is a great move, to get rid of pesky stuff like Heatran, Exca, floating stuff that has been gravi-fyed. Also gets rid of stuff like Air Balloon Rotom Fan, amirite? XD anyways back on topic, Focus Blast and Psychic are really just there for type coverage.
Thanks for reading this! If you're wondering why i have 3 HP EV's on all my things, it's because i want an odd HP number, so when i come in on Stealth Rocks or when i'm taking LO damage, i get dealt 24% and 9% for each. It's pretty nifty;) thanks!
