[RMT]OU Breloom Sweep

Breloom Sweep Team

Hello there I decided that I wanted to build a team that would revolve around Breloom and his sweeping powers so I went and this is what I’ve come up with.

The team in depth

Mettagross@occa berry
Adamant/clear body
252hp/236att/12def/8spd
-stealth rock
-meteor mash
-bullet punch
-explosion

Ninjask@focus sash
Jolly/speed boost
226att/108def/176spd
-protect
-swords dance
-x-scissor
-baton pass

Breloom@toxic orb
Adamant/poison heal
252att/252spd/4hp
-spore
-focus punch
-seed bomb
-subsitute
Comment:
So the one who started the team how could I pass using him. When paired with Umbreon this thing is beast since Umbreon used mean look the opponent can’t escape and then he uses spore and unless the opponent carries sleep talk they are basically useless. Also since Umbreon uses screech it lowers their defence so that Breloom can sweep even better. Nothing too complicated about the evs just full out killing.

Swampert@choice band
Adamant/torrent
136hp/204att/68def/100spd
-waterfall
-earthquake
-stone edge
-ice punch
Comment:
So for this guy it’s all about the defences as you can tell by the evs I wanted a good wall and he seemed to fit in the team nicely. I was planning on a rest talk but instead I gave him all offensive moves so he can still dish out as much damage as possible. I gave him moves that cover the most types so that he can wall and cause damage.

Latias@choice scarf
Timid/levitate
252spatt/252spd/4hp
-dragon pulse
-surf
-psychic
-thunderbolt
Comment:
So I noticed that if something went wrong with the set up of Breloom this team could be in big trouble so what better revenge killer than scarf Latias it outruns everything and can cause serious damage. With its moveset it covers most types pretty well and can dish out lots of damage. Its evs are pretty self explanatory so I don’t think I have to explain them.

Snorlax@leftovers
Sassy/thick fat
252def/126hp/126spdef
-rest
-sleep talk
-body slam
-fire blast
Comment:
I went and took the standard Snorlax rest talk set and modified the evs to fit what I wanted him to do wall everything especially fire and ice attacks which his ability thick fat cuts they’re power in half. With rest it takes pretty long to take out a Snorlax. I like body slam since it can cause paralysis and fire blast is to take care of steel types. I maximized the defence evs while putting the rest into special defence and health.

Conclusion
I actually have not made this team team yet but this is what I want it to look like so any suggestions are welcome thanks in advance.

I don't see the point of Umbreon on this team; He doesn't actually Baton Pass any stats to Breloom, yet it knows Baton Pass. I would scrap Umbreon and take something that could pass a Swords Dance or an Agility, making Breloom have an even better sweep.

Also, I would suggest to change your EV's into the one's Smogon suggest, your EV's are just all over the place.

The point of Umb's Baton Pass it to Pass Mean Look's trapping effects to Breloom so they're not lost. It's better for this team than a stat-boost IMO>

How do you sweep when your breloom is sooo slow?

May I suggest SD and Mach Punch over Seed Bomb/Stone Edge and Focus Punch.

This would much better help with your synergy because this allows your Umbreon to trap something that does nothing to Breloom (especially taking into account toxic orb) and it also allows you to set up SD after a Spore and Mach Punch or Stone Edge the rest of his team. The problem with this is that Stone Edge is makes it so your Breloom is morbidly slow again but this can be solved with a Substitute.

HOWEVER, if you run everything I've said you should, you make a mono attacking Breloom which is really not good considering ghosts entirely fuck with it. However, if a ghost should come in you may still have the option of safely sporing behind a sub and switching into Umbreon if you predict switch or a strong pursuiter if you don't.

Basically what I'm saying is Umbreon's trapping is useless because it doesn't allow your Breloom to sweep. It might allow your Breloom to take out one poke, but that's it.

Breloom is a much better sweeper under a Substitute,(due to low speed and frailness) so I'd take out either Seed Bomb or Stone Edge. Toxic Orb allows you to heal off sub damage in 2 turns also.

That's a Jirachi lead you don't see everyday, but I don't think that set suits Jirachi well. It's outclassed as an Anti-lead by the Choice Scarf set, and it's outclassed as a normal lead by Metagross. Also, Return is a pretty garbage option which doesn't help with synergy.

I would recommend you change it to a Lead Metagross altogether, which hits harder and can take hits more.

If you're bent on keeping Jirachi, I recommend you make him into a Choice Scarf lead. You'll be able to stop many common leads this way.

Hope I helped.

I agree substitute is a much needed move for a breloom sweeper. I run a Breloom on my team and have previously ran a Umbreon but Umbreon isn't as useful as you think. Instead I would replace Umbreon with a Gliscor.

Gliscor
Item: Yache Berry
Evs: 252Hp, 60Spe, 196SpD
Nature: Timid
- Rock Polish
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass
- Earthquake

I like this set because Gliscor has many resistances and is bulky enough to take a couple of hits. Therefore making it quite easy to get a rock polish in. After that if you can get a swords dance in you can sweep with Gliscor. If Gliscor is in trouble you can pass the speed to breloom and clean up.

Change your Jirachi lead to a Trickscarf lead because it does it's job much better than your weird Jirachi set. Also something that can speed pass would really benefit Breloom in it's sweep. Zapdos, Ninjask or Gliscor are great speed passers.

I feel like Ninjask is the perfect pokemon for this lineup. Umbreon is a good pokemon, but there are better baton passers for a Breloom Setup.

Try running this setup

Ninjask @ Focus Sash
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 226 Atk / 108 Def / 176 Spe
Jolly Nature: (+Speed, -Special Attack)
- Substitute
- Swords Dance / Protect
- X-Scissor / Screech / Protect
- Baton Pass

You can use Protect the first turn, get the speed boost from his ability. Swords Dance the second time, Focus Sash will ensure you have at least 1 more turn to baton pass. Now you have +2 Attack and +2 Speed to pass, something Breloom would GREATLY appreciate. If you feel like you can, throw in a third attack before passing although I don't think it's necessary. You could even set up a substitute for breloom if you want.

And TRUST ME. If you want Breloom to do any sort of successful sweeping, you need to get rid of Stone Edge and give it substitute.

I personally think that this Jirachi Lead set would do better on your team.

Jirachi@Choice Scarf
Ability : Serene Grace
EVs : 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Jolly : (+Speed, -Special Attack)
-Stealth Rock
-U-Turn
-Iron Head
-Trick

This set is close to what you have, but instead of an Occa berry it has a Choice Scarf, and in place of Return there is Trick, which allows you to cripple other Pokemon late/early game. Also, on Umbreon, I personally think that you don't need Screech, it doesn't do much, IMO. Something that would go in place of that move could be Yawn. With Yawn, you can instead turn your Breloom into the Swords Dance set, giving it time to set up after Umbreon puts a pokemon to sleep, or using the SubSeed or SporePuncher set, because IMO those are both better sets, due to the fact that Breloom does better behind a Substitute do to its mediocre speed. Taunt, Toxic, Protect, or even Wish, could all do something more for your team as well as help out with your Breloom Sweep. Wish is good for giving your team support, which would be very helpful. Toxic could be used to stall out pokemon as well. Taunt is good for being able to stop Pokemon from setting up on you, and instead tanking their attacks ( be careful which pokemon you do this on ). Lastly, I don't think Protect is as useful, although maybe you could use it to evade Explosion or stall out Low PP Moves.

Swampert is looking good. Although you may want to slap on a Choice Band, makes its nature Adamant, and just go with the Choice Band set already on-site, which is the same moveset you have, with the EVs as: 136 HP / 204 Atk / 68 Def / 100 Spe. Just a suggestion, though. Snorlax looks fine, too. Good job on the team!

For Latias, I'm just going to suggest the moveset to be a little different. Instead of Dragon Pulse, you could have Draco Meteor, and instead of Psychic you could have Trick or Dragon Pulse if you still really wanted to keep it. The reason why I don't think Psychic would work well is that it doesn't have very good coverage, so using another move in place of it to either give you more coverage or secondary STAB is a better idea.

Something I noticed about this team is that it has no Rapid Spinner, which isn't a huge deal for your team, since you don't have any pokemon who are really burdened by it. Also, since you haven't tested this team, I would advise testing it and telling us some of the things you found gave you problems, the Pros and Cons of the team, threats, etc.
