ORAS OU RMT ou team

Hi guys noobie here. and this is my first rmt. i've been playing pokemon showdown for like half a year or so, but i dont think i got the hang of team building/ battling just yet. i never made it past 1200 elo points :(. obviously i need some help. so here's my team

302-mega.gif

Sableye-Mega @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Metal Burst
- Recover

First up, my special wall. taunt to prevent setups. will o wisp to compensate for its lower def stat, metal burst to return the damage done with 1.5x power (works really well with taunt), recover to get my health back and continue to do what this mega sableye does best. it also bounces back status moves and entry hazards.

bronzong.png

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 104 Atk / 152 Def
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Trick Room
- Zen Headbutt
- Gyro Ball

My physical wall. Pairs up well with mega sableye to soak up fairy attacks. it sets up rocks and trick room. zen headbutt for a chance to flinch, since after trick room is set up i'll almost always move first. and gyro ball does loads since bronzong has terrible speed. Pairs well with flash fire arcanine to soak up special fire attacks.

059arcanine.png

Arcanine @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpA
Brave Nature
- Overheat
- Flare Blitz
- Wild Charge
- Extreme Speed

Mixed attacker. overheat is reserved specially for skarmory and ferrothorn, as well as other physical walls, as arcanine has decent enough special attack. flare blitz for STAB offense, obliterating everything in its path. wild charge for water coverage and extreme speed for revenge killing weak pokes.

454toxicroak.png

Toxicroak @ Black Sludge
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Poison Jab
- Sucker Punch

Paired with arcanine to soak up water attacks. besides, since it has dry skin, fire attacks do a ton of damage to him. so i can switch in to arcanine to take it with flash fire nicely. bulk up for setups and drain punch/ poison jab for STAB damage dealing. sucker punch for priority and 4x psychic weakness coverage.

135jolteon.png

Jolteon @ Air Balloon
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch

Scout and special sweeper. and yes, it carries air balloon. i wanted to give it choice specs but noticed the huge ground weakness in my team. literally 3 pokes are weak to ground, not counting levitate bronzong, who can be completely destroyed by mold breaker excadrill. tbolt for STAB offence. shadow ball and hp ice for coverage. volt switch for scouting.

130gyarados.png

Gyarados @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

just something to fill in the last slot. another set up sweeper on my team who does not need introduction :P the moveset says it all. the only reason i chose him is for ground type coverage. just something to switch into if jolteon's air balloon pops.
and whenever threatened by electric pokes, Ddance boosted Earthquake does the job. pokes who resist EQ, mainly zapdos or thundurus can taste my ice fang. otherwise a switch in to volt absorb jolteon wouldn't be a bad idea. oh yeah ice fang also finishes off what hp ice from jolteon couldn't do.

so, yeah i think its a bad team. i just picked a couple of pokes i like and mash it together to form a team. i really need suggestions to improve my ev spreads, moveset and also replacing gyarados in the last slot if it needs replacing. THANKS GUYS :D

Hahaha your intro was hilarious xD

Note: Please look at my post, I have many showdown accounts and I easily make it over 1600+ Elo points, so you may learn something...
http://goo.gl/57N0Ku

I hope that didn't come across as too arrogant. But unto your team we go! ^^

1) First things first, it seems you may need to learn about Pokemon playstyles. I mean just looking at your team I'm not sure what it's suppose to be...
Check this link out, it helped me out a lot when I was a beginner: http://pokemondb.net/pokebase/138438/what-are-the-battle-styles

When you learn about Play styles, it makes it so much more easier to make a good, solid team...

2) When you figure out what play style you prefer...message me, I'd gladly help you out in detail :)

For now, I'm not sure where to start i.e. which pokemon you want to keep and which ones you want to leave behind.

hey thanks for the tip :D i was thinking of a more balanced team. i don't really dig hyper offensive ones. And would you recommend knock off instead of metal burst on sableye? after the trick room support, it basically outspeeds most pokemon, which makes metal burst useless
btw here's a replay of a battle i had after posting this.

"Hahaha omg, I enjoyed the battle, you're not half bad. You're actually much better than you give yourself credit for ^^
Note: Try to use your abilities a little more i.e. there were many occasions were you could have switched Toxicrock into Scalds (especially scolds lol).
"

But all right! Let's get started, a balance type team. Great! Here we go (please feel free to edit the team as you battle with them):

Here are the changes~
Cores:

From now on, try building your team around cores. This makes it much easier for you to collect pokemon that cover each others weaknesses.

302-mega.png
hippowdon.png
ferrothorn.png
[Defensive core]

mega_sableye_sprite_by_zermonious-d7n7vdp.png

Sableye @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Foul Play

Knock off, it's STAB, it's painful and it's very annoying. Use it to get rid of the opponents precious items when you're not sure what to do next lol.
Foul play is great for punishing the physical attackers. Not only does it hit them hard, but can KO such Pokemon if they're attack stat is too high! Use it against things like Mega Scizor for guaranteed KO (if it is using Sword Dance).

hippowdon-female.gif

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Stone Edge / Toxic / Whirlwind < I prefer Stone Edge :3

Earthquake hurts the powerful fire types that threaten both sableye and ferrothorn. Stealth rocks is great for hurting rock-weak Pokemon such as Talonflame (whenever such pokemon switch into battle, they lose 50% of their HP. That's insane!). Slack off is great for gaining your HP back. And Stone Edge hits Mega Pinsir, Gyrados and other rock-weak Pokemon. Toxic is another option for annoying other walls e.g. Rotom Wash, Landorus-T etc. Whirlwind is a great way to annoy the opponent and cause a LOT of damage. When hazards are up, keep spamming this move xD

ferrothorn.gif

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Thunder Wave

Spikes is a great option and it works well with Hippowdon's Stealth Rocks. When both of them are on the field, the opponent will start losing a lot of HP just by switch into battle. Leech seed is there for draining HP from the foe and then it gives those HP to you (use it when you think the opponent might switch :)
Thunder Wave is another option to go for when you think the opponent might switch. It's very annoying especially for faster Pokemon.

gyarados.png
jolteon.png
[Type synergy Core]

jolteon.gif

Jolteon @ Life Orb
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power Grass
- Volt Switch

Jolteon and Gyarados make a surprisingly good core (in terms of typing). Thanks to this I wouldn't be changing too much from your team lol.
Thunderbolt is great for water types that burden Gyarados, it also hits Rotom Wash incredibly hard! Signal Beam hits a lot of threatening Pokemon and is suggested over Shadow Ball i.e. it hits Tyranitar, Celebi, Hoopa etc. Hidden Power Grass has the surprise factor of not being common, so your opponents maybe expecting Hidden Power Ice. Hidden Power Grass KO's water and ground type Pokemon such as Semitoad, Quagsire, Swampert etc. These Pokemon can be very troublesome for your team. Volt Switch is great for scouting and exiting a fight whilst dealing damage.

gyarados.gif

Gyarados @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

This is your Sweeper. It's great for cleaning through teams and it has the added perk protecting Jolteon from Ground type moves and reducing the damage from physical attackers. Waterfall is very powerful and it's your main move of choice when cleaning through teams. It also comes with the plus chance of causing the opponent to flinch. Earthquake is great when dealing steel and electric types. After One Dragon Dance, you out speed Mega Manetric, so use Earthquake! >:3
Ice Fang is for the dragons, grass and flying types. Needless to say, it's pretty handy at times and comes with the added bonus of freezing the opponent or causing them to flinch (much better than Bounce).

excadrill.png
[Revenge Killer]

excadrill.gif

Excadrill @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

Always try to save this Pokemon for last, because thanks to Choice Scarf it out out-speeds even mega Lopunny. It's high attack stat ensure that it's STAB moves hit very hard. Earthquake is a great move to knock out weakened Pokemon. Iron Head is great for hitting fairies such as Mega Diancie. It's also ideal when you know you cannot KO the foes Pokemon, but you know they can KO you...that's where the flinch-chance comes in >:3
Rapid Spin provides a great way of deposing entry hazards (Stealth rock etc). This Excadrill is fast, so you can KO some Pokemon such as Pinsir and Talonflame.

Sableye @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Foul Play

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Stone Edge

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Thunder Wave

Jolteon @ Life Orb
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power Grass
- Volt Switch

Gyarados @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

Excadrill @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

PS: Well, that's that, took a lot of time, but we've done it. Hope this helps :)
Now if you'll excuse me, I have some anime to watch, see yeah \(^ω^)/
