So I've been out of Pokemon since Black 2 and White 2 came out, thanks to high school, but I'm back and I'm not all too familiar with the new metagame. I only started last month, and this is the team that has helped me achieve a 1400 rank in Showdown. So, here goes.
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 72 Atk / 184 Def
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Roost
This guy will usually be my lead. With 252 HP, he can take at least one hit while setting up Stealth Rock. Earthquake hits steel-types that such as Heatran, Metagross, etc. that Deoxys-D finds hard to wall. Knock Off has been decent for me, but I would definitely be open to suggestions on other moves. It renders opposing Chansey useless, and hits the commonly used Deoxys-D like a truck while knocking off leftovers.
Greninja @ Choice Specs
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power Ground
Let me just say that I absolutely LOVE Greninja. With base 122 speed and solid special attack, he makes for an excellent choice specs user. Protean is obviously better than Torrent. I took Hydro Pump over Scald because i felt that he needed a move with more than 90 power. Hidden Power Ground takes care of electric types that would otherwise defeat Greninja.
Crawdaunt @ Leftovers
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Crabhammer
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
Adaptability made Crawdaunt a hundred times more usable. Aqua Jet is there because none of the other Pokemon can learn priority moves that are useful. Crabhammer and Crunch get neutral coverage on every Pokemon in OU except Azumarill. With a base 120 attack, as good as the almighty Arceus, Crawdaunt can be a fearsome sweeper if he gets a Dragon Dance or two up. Although his speed is lacking, to say the least, Aqua Jet makes up for that.
Kyurem-Black @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 156 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Fusion Bolt
- Outrage
- Iron Head
- Stone Edge
Boasting the highest attack in the OU metagame, Kyurem-B is a force to be reckoned with. He has the best Outrage in the game, and Iron Head kills fairies that are immune to Dragon. Fusion Bolt provides neutral coverage on Steel types, and Stone Edge is just for power.
TheBestWallinOU (Deoxys-Defense) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Bold Nature
- Recover
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Cosmic Power
That nickname is there for a reason. Sporting base 160 defenses that are better than some ubers, Deoxys-D is truly the best wall in OU. Seismic Toss kills taunters who are generally frail, and Cosmic Power can make some opponents forfeit. That's all I have to say.
Salamence @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd
Modest Nature
IVs: 30 Def / 30 SAtk / 30 SDef
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Hydro Pump
- Roost
When my friend first traded me a Shelgon in Pokemon Emerald a couple years ago, I almost stored him in my PC box. I was very glad I didn't later on, because Salamence is a FREAKING BEAST. Opponents usually expect him to be a physical attacker, and are totally unprepared for Draco Meteor. Flamethrower and Hydro Pump give Salamence perfect coverage outside of Azumarill, and Roost provides instant recovery so Salamence can continue sweeping. Intimidate can slow down physical sweepers.
Superpower Azumarill is a huge problem for this team if KB is dead, and fairies in general slow down my team. I haven't fully adjusted to a brand new metagame, so there are bound to be flaws. Also, there is not a lot of synergy here. Please rate and give me feedback. Thanks
