RMT - Platinum Metagame

So this is a team I've made with a friend (CTJMX) for the new metagame. I do NOT know alot of the new stuff that came over so therefor, it might have some really serious weakness I don't even know about...here it is:

tyranitar.png

@ Choice Band
Careful - Sand Stream
252 Hit Points - 42 Attack - 216 Special Defense
Crunch
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Pursuit

Starting Pokemon. Choice Band is for insane brute force. Movepool is self-explanitory. EV's help it survive hits, might just make it not so bulky.

gengar.png

@ Black Sludge
Timid - Levitate
4 Hit Points - 252 Special Attack - 252 Speed
Focus Blast
Shadow Ball
Substitute
Thunderbolt

Black Sludge > Leftovers for those Pokemon that like to use Trick. Focus Blast + Shadow Ball = Neutral damage atleast for every pokemon, Thunderbolt for more coverage.

mamoswine.png

@ Life Orb
Adamant - Snow Cloak
252 Attack - 252 Speed - 4 Defense
Earthquake
Superpower
Ice Shard
Stone Edge

Ice Shard for those Shaymin-S and Dragons. The rest is just for coverage. Very standad, has gotten me out of alot of situations.

scizor.png

@ Life Orb
Adamant - Technician
252 Hit Points - 252 Attack - 4 Special Defense
Quick Attack
Bullet Punch
Swords Dance
X-Scissor

Priority 60 base power STAB move is just awesome along with Quick Attack for anything that resists Bullet Punch. X-Scissor for other STAB. Swords Dance only makes everything all the more rediculous.

shaymin_sky.png

@ Life Orb
Timid - Serene Grace
252 Special Attack - 252 Speed - 4 Special Defense
Air Slash
Earth Power [Leech Seed, goes with Substitue, EV's will also be altered to make 101 subs]
Hidden Power - Ice/ [Substitute with Leftovers]
Seed Flare

OMGWTFWERETHEYTHINKINGWHENTHEYMADETHIS?! Seriously. Seed Flare having 80% to lower Special Defense, Air Slash having 60% to flinch...broken much? Earth Power nails Fire's that like to come in and Hidden Power - Ice to just push things further.

[I'm considering the SubSeed Flinchmin, not sure which is better though]

heatran.png

@ Choice Scarf
Timid - Flash Fire
252 Special Attack - 252 Speed - 4 Hit Points
Earth Power
Explosion
Fire Blast
Hidden Power - Ice

Scarftran is Scarftran. Timid to outspeed Shyamin-s >:3.

why u need so much sp. attk evs on tyranitar?

Ya I meant Special Defense...oops lol.

I'm pretty sure he meant to put sp def

why do you need dragon pulse AND hp ice on heatran? they offer almost the same coverage. use explosion so you can take out blissey if necessary.

I know...I just hate explosion...seems like every time I use it they always switch to a Ghost or use protect...ok I'll change it.

Okay so I'm going to do my best to help outline some of this team's problems.

First off I don't like the consideration of Outrage on TTar. Stick with Stone Edge as despite Outrage hitting more neutral Crunch hits for the same amount of damage (with STAB) and Stone Edge outclasses it with STAB as well.

Second, Mamoswine should consider Superpower in the set, probably over Ice Shard. This will help him take on Bronzong a little better. I guess you could argue it's not very helpful since the Attack drop will force a switch but it's seriously the best move he has against Liberty Bell itself.

Scizor still needs Quick Attack and I would consider it over either Brick Break or X-Scissor. I'd say over Brick Break as X-Scissor slams on Cresselia and Celebi: two Pokemon that get annoying pretty quick.

As for the team itself it seems pretty standard. I think you might have a slight problem with YacheDDMence if Mamo is out of play and everything else hasn't set up yet. Though my guess is many teams will. Otherwise like the team!

Ok I took Outrage off for Stone Edge and I'm putting Superpower>Ice Fang, Shard is just too vital to take out some serious threats like Shaymin-s and Salamence. Took of Brick Break for Quick Attack as well. Thanks for the help.

If you're going for a Lefties set with Shaymin why not try Endeavor?

With Sub after you've killed something it makes a great last move to lower something (potentially a wall like Blissey) into KO range for your next poke.

Your team is going to really have trouble with status without an absorber or cleric.

Be careful against things like Machamp and Infernape, they are going to give you many headaches, where you'd have to sacrifice something to revenge kill it.

Also any bulky water you're going to have trouble switching into.

This team looks like a bunch of common OU sweepers and Platinum Shaymin thrown together in a team TBH

And what's wrong with that? The current metagame is very fast and offensive. Might as well make a team full of sweepers and smash everything that's suppose to counter you.

If you take a look a Kloud's RMT and read the comment's you'll understand why he made that comment lolz.

Anyways, nice team but I noticed that you don't have a SR'er at all on this team and that can really put you in a disadvantage especially with the rise of Salamence and Skymin usage. Mamo can take them both on fine but having SR out would really help in the long run.

Also, I don't know what's the point of maxing out Scizor's speed. What does that accomplish? are there any big threats that 229 speed outspeeds? I'm using Scizor too and I'm just curious. Maybe I missed something.

That's one problem we ran into making this team is that no stealth rocker maybe we could sqeeze it in a heatran in place of HP ice or take out a less important pokemon for maybe bronzong?

*Agrees with nyzxjay*Why are you running two priority moves and max speed? Move it to HP to take hits better while boosting attack.

So what would you suggest to hel the Champ/Ape/Cune problem?

Ya just leave

Well Scizor didn't have double priority moves before, so when I changed it I didn't take EV's into consideration lol I'll change em now.

Ya maybe Bronzong, but I don't know what to drop for it....

@ Leftovers
Brave - Heatproof (YES! lol)
252 Hit Points - 160 Attack - 96 Special Defense
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Gyro Ball
Hidden Power - Ice

OHKO's Heatran with no/very little defense/hp ev's everytime
does: 81.56% - 95.74% to lucario
does: 45.70% - 53.64% to 4 hp/0 def metagross, but it won't earthquake because they have no reason to randomly guess I'm using heatproof and can atleast 3HKO it if not 2HKO
does: 77.21% - 90.82% to infernape, which will use only fire moves which won't do much anyway + life orb damage (most of the time anyway)
does: 67.47% - 79.52% to salamence, 2HKO
does: 46.49% - 54.68% to Tyranitar
2HKO's Weavile

Pro's of HeatProof:
allows me to kill opposing fire types and things that think they can kill it
gives it a "levitate" ability while in battle (don't see why someone would randomly Earthquake and just HOPE it's heatproof)

Con's:
Can't switch into Earthquake/etc

I don't know, just an idea.
