RMT, please. :D

I've been playing with this team for a little while. I switch it up a little bit from time to time, but I keep going back to this. It's not perfect, so if you have any suggestions, they're very appreciated.

Pokemon

Gangsta Thug (Azelf) @ Focus Sash
Levitate
Jolly
253 Atk | 4 Def | 253 Spe
-Stealth Rock
-Explosion
-Reflect
-Light Screen

Here's Gangsta Thug, my Azelf, my lead. My usual choice is to start out with a Stealth Rock. Since Azelf's a quick little thing, and I can usually count on it taking at least one shot, it gets stealth rocks up pretty much 100% of the time.
If he does take a hit, and it takes him below 50%, I'll go ahead and explode.
If he takes a hit and stays at a decent amount, I'll pop a light screen and/or reflect before going kamikaze mode.
If they throw down stealth rocks or anything similar, I'll pop a light screen or reflect to see if they switch into a ghost (as they often do, trying to predict my explosion). If they don't and if they attack, I'll go ahead and explode the next turn just to take them out.
So I don't always get light screen AND reflect up, but usually at least one of them.

Gengly (Gengar) @ Icicle Plate (Yes, you read that correctly)
Levitate
Timid
6 HP | 252 Spe | 252 SpA
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power (Fire)
-Icy Wind
-Thunderbolt

So you may have looked at my goofy little sprite edits and thought to yourself "what the heck is in that Gengar's hand..." Yes, it's an icicle plate. Allow me to explain my reasoning, this is one thing I'd appreciate input and ideas on. A special fighting, fire, thunder and ice attack seems like a pretty solid spec for taking out a very wide range of monsters. Gengar has access to all of these (with hidden power) except ice. Icy Wind isn't exactly up to par on sheer power as the others. It does have the nice affect of slowing the opponent down. The icicle plate helps boost this up to be a fairly powerful ice attack.
The main draw back on this guy is he's pretty squishy. But it's difficult to get around that on Gengar, I feel. Although his levitate is nice when switching into a ground attack, taking no damage and saving another teammates life... then, given the attack was also a ground typed pokemon, Icy Wind can now do plenty of damage.

130px-448Lucario.png

Lucario @ Choice Band
Inner Focus
Jolly
252 Atk | 6 Def | 252 Spe
-Close Combat
-Crunch
-Extreme Speed
-Stone Edge

My choice band wearing Lucario seems to work very nicely coming in from a stealth rock, explosion set up from Azelf. Depending on what switches in, I'll use the move that will work the best. A lot of the time, the STAB bonus from C.C., and the occasional unlucky pokemon to switch in with a weakness to fighting type, allows for a pretty effcient physical sweep.
Can't say it works perfectly though. Say a psychic or a ghost switchs in... I can't jump over to my crunch and demolish them with out a switch up, which throws off the whole game. However, depending on double typing, the pokemon I switch into can take the job.

200px-385Jirachi.png

Sriracha (Jirachi) @ King's Rock
Serene Grace
Jolly
6 HP | 252 Atk | 252 Spe
-Iron Head
-Fire Punch
-Ice Punch
-Thunderpunch

Sriracha just seemed like a perfect name for a red colored Jirachi...
But anyway. I'd read a while back about a lot of different specs for Jirachi. I really liked how my verstile Gengar had been working out for me, so I decided to recruit Jirachi as a similar type deal. The original suggestion was to Choice Band it up... but that would nullify the idea of switching attacks based on who my opponent switches in. Then, I thought of just capitalizing on Serence Grace and giving Jirachi the King's Rock to make it a stun-lock and wear 'em down with Iron Head, which would now have (I believe) a 60% stun chance + the King's Rock bonus.

180px-230Kingdra.png

Kingdra @ Leftovers
Swift Swim
Adamant
184 HP | 248 Atk | 78 Spe
-Rain Dance
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Outrage

Another powerful physical beast on my team is my Kingdra. With his awesome typing and his nice base defence stats, along with a boost to his HP, he take a hit or two. This is very useful when setting up Rain Dance / Dragon Dance. When switched in at the right time, I can get at least one of these dances up, boosting Kingdra's speed so that it can take down any dragon type switch ins before they get a chance to destroy him. The confusion at the end is a bit annoying, but what are ya gonna do?

272Ludicolo.png

Ludicris (Ludicolo) @ Life Orb
Swift Swim
Modest
63 HP | 195 Spe | 252 SpA
-Rain Dance
-Surf
-Grass Knot
-Ice Beam

I brought this guy onto my team after I took on Kingdra. I felt having another pokemon who can benefit from rain dance would be lovely. He has Rain Dance himself so he can refresh the rain if needed, and he can also set up Kingdra so I don't need to use one before the other. Surf is a powerful STAB attack. Grass Knot can take out large, bulky water types. Ice Beam is another powerful attack, which I have found useful in a specific way more often than it occured to me would: There are times when a dragon switch in WILL kill my Kingdra, and if it's still raining, Ludicolo swaps in and blasts the dragon in the face with an Ice Beam for hurting his rain buddy. Revenge!

____________________________________________________________

So, I suppose, my teams based on the idea of attacking your opponent before they can attack you. One of my biggest concerns is lack of fire attacks. Gengar and Jirachi both have one... but Jirachi isn't exactly a powerhouse and Gengar has little defense, so a switch in isn't always a great idea. I guess having a fire type haymaker isn't that important, but it just seems like a lot of the time I find myself thinking "huh... I wish I had a powerful fire attack to destroy this guy right now..."
I dunno.
What do you all think?

There are quite a few problems with this team, but the main one is an issue regarding the main concept. This appears to be a heavy offense team, but it has little in terms of offensive synergy. I think you need to decide whether to makt this into a full rain dance team or not, because without the proper support, rain sweepers will fail.

Icy wind gengar doesn't need Icicle plate. Icy wind hits dragons hard enough as it is. You also need Shadow ball somewhere on the set, probably over thunderbolt, shich is not really needed given the excellent coverage of the other moves. You could also consider sub over icy wind, so you don't get trapped and beaten by TTar and Scizor.

Jirachi should use a Naive nature and Tbolt over Tpunch. This is because that Jirachi can be used as a lure, bluffing a choice scarf. Gyarados will not be OHKOed otherwise due to intimidate.

Choice band lucario is generally inferior to the CB set, unless you specifically need a lure for Gliscor (you don't) or any other SD luke check. SD Luke breaks through walls if anything better than a choice bander would.

Good luck

i agree with jc104. your team looks like you shook a bag and picked out some pokemon. you need more synergy. a salamence over kingdra gives you a beast sweeper and great synergy with luke and rachi
salamence
life orb/naive
234ATK/24SPA/252SPE
fire blast
outrage
dragon dance
earthquake

this guy can rip through stall teams for you with earthquake and fire blast and gives you a much needed earthquake.
for luke, i recommend SD Luke set for more sweeping potential. use life orb over choice band so you can change moves. i'd reccomend changing crunch since ghosts are taken care of by gengar and most will think you have crunch and switch out (unless you've already used stone edge.
ludicolo needs to go, but im not sure what it should be replaced with. maybe a revenge killer...

scarftran looks like it would be great, but as i look at your team, the more jirachi seems out of place. it really has no synergy with anything and to me looks more like a liability than an asset. to replace it, i would strongly reccomend something that can use thunder wave or toxic or something. curselax would, in my opinion, work great with this team. body slam inflicts heavy damage and has a 30% chance of paralysis (albeit not steller, but decent), has enough defenses in both in both special and physical categories and a movepool that makes it almost customizable. i seriously reccomend putting it where jirachi is now.

Looking at you team, I think that you might not be going too far out of your way to convert it into a rain dance team. All you would need to do is put rain on your lead or Rachi (assuming that Zelf can learn Rain dance; I'm not sure, but then again you can always switch it out for the ever sturdy Uxie). I like the Icy Wind idea on gengar; it'll hit dragons for massive damage and get you some LOLs along the way, but I think that you're better off using a Life orb or Expert belt instead. Both are more common (which I think you're trying to avoid), but do give you greater attack boost, as well as boosting your other attacks. Let's face it: Gengar isn't that bulky anyway, so the LO recoil isn't going to be taking away from his survivability all that much.

I think I'm going to ditch the rain dance idea. I'm going to chance the latter half of my team entirely and modify the move sets on the first three.
That idea could change, but that's what I'ma look into right now.

Revised Team:

Azelf
@ Focus Sash
Levitate
Jolly

-Stealth Rock
-Explosion
-Light Screen
-Psychic

Changes from before
I gave him Psychic in place of reflect. There have been a few times when I end up with Azelf being my only surviving pokemon, and having explosion as my only direct damage dealing attack leaves me feelin' a bit silly.
__________________________________________________

Gengar @ Leftovers
Levitate
Timid

-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power(fire)
-Shadow Ball
-Substitute

Changes from before
I turned him into a more cookie cutter substitute special attack gengar. This will help Gengar deal with enemies such as Tyranitar by himself. Substitute -> Focus Blast. Kerpow!
__________________________________________________

Lucario @ Life Orb
Inner Focus
Adamant

-Close Combat
-Crunch
-Extreme Speed
-Sword Dance

Changes from before
I put his choice band aside and gave him a Life Orb instead. The ability to change moves mid-fight is a nice change. This along with the boost from sword dance makes him pretty much just an improved version of his oldself, just missing one move.
__________________________________________________

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Thick Fat
Careful

-Curse
-Body Slam
-Ice Punch
-Fire Punch

A new member to my team. First using curse to boost his attack and defence. Then STAB bodyslam, unless it's a rock, ghost or steel type... In which case I would either ice punch or fire punch accordingly. I'm debating throwing Rest or Self Destruct in there instead of one of the punches. Opinions?
__________________________________________________

Salamence @ Life Orb
Intimidate
Naive

-Dragon Dance
-Earthquake
-Fire Blast
-Outrage

Thanks for the suggestion, forestflamerunner. :)
Salamence makes a good replacement for my Kingdra. He doesn't rely on rain dance, yet has similar moves and has a powerful move pool.
__________________________________________________

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Flash Fire
Naive

-Dragon Pulse
-Earth Power
-Fire Blast
-Dark Pulse

My revenge killer. Pretty impressive speed and special attack for something that looks like an angry baked potato with legs. The Dark, Ground, Dragon and Fire attacks give him attacks that I believe will counter a lot of my teams enemies. He also gets a great STAB bonus from Fire Blast.
However, Fire Blast misses at times I really wish it wouldn't... considering a swap out for Flamethrower. Opinions?
*Also, is Dark Pulse worth it? It's super effective against Psych and Ghost, both of which Fire is neutral against... Would a stab Fire Blast out way Dark Pulse in every situation?

__________________________________________________

So, as you can see, it's still a pretty heavy offense team. I no longer have the rain dance duo. I might create another team out of the original posted team and turn them into a full on rain dance team, just to compare how it does compared to this team once I get it how I want it.

Azelf is still my lead; it starts with stealth rocks and drops a light screen. Then it either
explodes or swaps out.

Gengar can now hide behind a substitute if needed to provide him a meatshield to make up for his squishyness. He can also still take out a wide range of monsters.

If they switch in a dark type or someone that may thrash me with a dark type move, I can pop in Lucario and C.C. their face in. If they swap in a psych on him, I could have him use crunch.

Salamence and Heatran can cover each other weaknesses, but the main purpose of Heatran is to pop in and quickly take out who ever just hurt my last pokemon. Heatran covers the vast majority of counters the teams weaknesses. If a fire, water or ground type pops up, there's someone he can switch to to escape a thrashing.

This team's been working alright so far... I'm going to keep messing around with different tweaks to see what works best, but any input is always awesome! :D

I lost my whole post. DAMMIT.

Explosion/Dark Pulse on Tran, to hit Blissey/Latias on the switch in. It also hits Starmie, which is what Dark Pulse is for.

Rest over Ice Punch on Lax, because it isn't doing anything. Maybe Chesto/Lefties.

Jolly on Luke to outspeed threats. Yeah.

Light Clay on Azelf, Light Screen over Psychic. DO NOT SWITCH OUT YOUR SUICIDE LEAD. If you see Aerodactyl, explode. It's as simple as that.

Good luck.
