RMT Please

OK been trying to think up a decent team to EV train for my platinum game but not to sure whether this is decent enough to be worth it lol. So lets post it and see what you experts have to say.

If you think a different pokemon would be better then post away. But please dont replace Garchomp or Porygon-Z because i would like to use them in the Battle Frontier in Platinum lol

Hippowdon @ Impish w/ LeftOvers

Slack Off

OK Ive never really used Hippowdon before but been trying this out of Shoddy Battle and it works pretty well. Walls attacks and deals a not bad about of damage. Slack Off is also nice to be able to heal its self which always helps walls stay in that little bit longer just to annoy the opponent.
EarthQuake is for things like Metagross that might be leading or switch in to it. Ice Fang is for the obvious dragons that are in most teams.

The Special Duck

Porygon-Z @ Life Orb w/Life Orb

Tri Attack
Thunder Bolt
Ice Beam
Dark Pulse

This little duck is a beast. Use on before and is my favourite special attacker in the game. With life orb behind it porygon-z can deal very nice amounts of damage. The Standard BoltBeam Combo which deals with the lights of Skarmory and Salamance. Dark Pulse I use to get rid of any ghosts that my be floating about. (Sorry bout the pun there =p)
Tri-Attack is a nice STAB Attack for Porygon-z

The Steel Sweeper

252 Atk - 252 Speed - 4 HP
Sword Dance
Bullet Punch
X-Scissor
SuperPower

Probably the most OverUsed pokemon around at the moment and that is because it is awesome now. With such a power priority move as a technician Bullet Punch and after a Sword Dance can hurt if not faint most things.
X-Scissor is there for a STAB and SuperPower for any normal or steel types that switch in on me

Salamance @ Adamant w/ Choice Band
252 Atk - 252 Speed - 4 HP
OutRage
Fire Fang
EarthQuake
Stone Edge

Well decided to change Garchomp because it is considered UBER. So looking through what would be a good change i decided to go far Salamance. With a Choice Band this is pretty much OverKill. Most things taken out in OHKO with OutRage. Fire Fang is for Shedinja and Bronzongs. EQ and Stone Edge for type coverage. Salamance is a beast in OU and i like things that hurt lol

The Shining Star

Starmie @ Modest w/Life Orb

Surf
Recover

The Shining Star for the team. Starmie is a very good special Sweeper if it can get a hit. Againt the Classic BoltBeam Combo and the Surf is a nice STAB for Starmie. Recover is there to get health back from Life Orb.
This can hit most things that it will come up against. This was going to be my third pokemon for the Battle Frontier with Garchomp and Porygon-Z.

and last but not least my special wall. Another pokemon ive never really used but want to try it out. Surf and Ice Beam are its main forms of Attack. While Thunder wave is there for the ParaHax and the Speed reduction on anything that might switch in on it. Slack Off is there for the health recovery.

So what do ya think. Anything need changing or replacing??

unless you plan on using this team in ubers you have to get rid of chomp, flygon would be a suitable replacement for competitive battles as he boasts the same typing as chomp and similar speed
 
OK if i really have to get rid of Chomp. (Did say this was mainly for use in Platinum for the Battle Frontier)

What would be decent enough the replace it?
 
like i said before flygon is a suitable replacement since he has the same typing as garchomp and close enough speed to garchomp. however i would give him a choice scarf over a focus sash since you lack a revenge killer on your team.
 
specially based mixape running HP Ice, Grass Knot, Fire Blast and Close Combat has alot of fun with this team. to counter it try running either a scarf azelf:

Timid Nature

Dugtrio @ Choice Band
Adamant/Jolly Nature

Replace either Starmie or Porygon-Z, seeing as with both sandstorm and leftovers they could be losing 16% of their health each turn- preferably get rid of Z, since he has no recovery move.
 
Just make your Starmie Timid instead of Modest and you shouldn't really have any MixApe troubles. Also, SlowKing can survive a Grass Knot and T-Wave Ape, making him much more easily dealt with. But yeah, standard MixApe runs through the first 4 members of your team without breaking a sweat.

Also, what is the Nature on the PorygonZ?
