XY OU RMT Poison Panic (assitance would be endearing)

heres my team, ill make explanations simple. the point is to give the enemy pokemon toxic, and stall till they die. however i feel like im either lacking pokemon that are bulky enough to take the big hits i could receive, OR i dont pokemon worthy to add some decent attack force to my team. i start with trying to get 2 toxic spikes out, and stealth rock, i usually open with dragalage or ferrothorn. if i start with ferro i throw leech seeds depending on what im up against. P.S i was using a belly drum huge power azumarill but i decided to take it out. let me know if i should bring it back? thanks :D

im looking for alternate pokemon choices, with reasons as too why. also i know some moves should be changed, so that would be helpful as well. any advice to improve my stall team would be great.
Swalot @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Calm Nature
- Destiny Bond
- Infestation
- Toxic
- Protect
i usually send swalot in against something i want to trap with infest, but i try to make sure they are toxified first. he used to have substitute instead of destiny bond and quite frankly i think destiny bond is terrible, cause of his speed, so let me know your opinion on this. i havent gotten a whole lot of useage out of this swalot, so i may need to tweak it, happily taking suggestions..

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 244 HP / 40 Def / 224 Spe
Impish Nature
- Substitute
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Protect
gliscor has always been a grad advocate to my team. if i can outspeed the enemy and get them with toxic spike or toxic, then its all about subbing and protecting till victory, but occasionally it doesnt work how i would like it too. hes my main staller aside from swalot.

Lopunny @ Lopunnite
Ability: Cute Charm
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- Fire Punch
- Thunder Punch
i was using Mgengar but unfortunetly he is banned now, so someone suggested lopunny. lopunny is awesome! she comes in, fakes out and takes them out with return if possible, and thunder/fire punch gives awesome coverage. i think this pokemon is quite applicable to the team

Dragalge @ Focus Sash
Ability: Poison Point
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Sludge Wave
- Surf
- Toxic Spikes
- Dragon Tail
i gave dragalge a foxus sash so i can make sure i get my toxic spikes planted, honestly i use him as fodder, but unfortunetly i dont always get the 2 toxic spikes like i plan too. not sure if this is a good choice but its what ive been using. i use dragon tail once the spikes are planted to spread the poison for mass chaos huehuehue

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Gyro Ball
- Protect
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
ferrothorn is my main stealth rock setter, and then he leech seeds. once these two are planted i just protect, swap pokemon or gyro ball.

Heatran @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 192 SpD / 68 Spe
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Roar
- Earthquake
i put in heatran as a random pokemon i thought would be applicable. ive noticed that using him as a hazard setter is rather useless because he can do so much better than that, but im not sure what i should do with him.
this team is going to be swapped to my pokemon x cartridge. it will be used for rated battles, so idk how well this is going to work out but we shall see. I HAVE ONE ISSUE, i cant use mega lopunny in x...

Hello arkailim ! Interesting team there. Onto the rate:

Can you add some more details to your RMT? Otherwise, a RMT moderator will lock this thread. Thanks! ^^ I will try and get in as many details as possible, so you can at least get some sort of help.

I really don't understand if this team is meant for literal laddering or just a team.
Why: Teams dedicated to Toxic stall do not do very well. 1 Pokemon dedicated to it can work but a whole team is overdoing it, to be honest.
I may have to switch up the main niche if you're looking for something necessarily viable.

Swalot is a pretty bad mon in the metagame, being easily outclassed by Weezing. It carries Levitate and overall more bulk. Don't underestimate Weezing; thanks to its solid mono-Poison typing, Levitate, and high Defense, it is a pretty reliable physical wall in the OU tier. With that I think Weezing would work much more as a Pokemon for the team.
110.gif

Weezing @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Sludge Bomb / Flamethrower
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split / Haze / Taunt

Toxic Spikes poisons foes as they switch in, making them easier to wear down. Sludge Bomb prevents Weezing from becoming setup bait and allows it to inflict poison on foes without using Toxic Spikes. Alternatively, Flamethrower can be used to directly punish Steel-types, such as Ferrothorn, Forretress, and Skarmory. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers that attempt to use Weezing as setup bait. Pain Split is Weezing's best option for recovery, while Haze makes foes unable to try to set up against Weezing. Alternatively, Taunt is an option to stallbreak against opposing walls, though Weezing is too slow to use the move reliably. Meaning I wouldn't advise it too much, but it is an option.

I would tweak the EVs just a bit, as what you have is straight from the teambuilder. Here is the spread and why: 244 HP / 28 Def / 236 Spe. Those HP EVs make Gliscor's HP a multiple of eight so it is able to gain back the maximum amount of health possible from Poison Heal. The Speed EVs allow Gliscor to outspeed max Speed Mamoswine and below so it stalls out as many slower threats as possible, while an Impish nature plus putting the remaining EVs in Defense advocates Gliscor's good physical bulk.

428-mega.png

I would also tweak the moveset a slight bit, as Thunderpunch is pretty useless coverage.
lopunny-mega.gif

Lopunny @ Lopunnite
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Return
- Fake Out
- Power-Up Punch / Ice Punch / Healing Wish

The Limber ability enables Lopunny to switch into Thunder Wave users such as Chansey and Ferrothorn. A Jolly nature is preferred over an Adamant one because it enables Lopunny to outspeed positive-natured base 119 Speed Pokemon and above, specifically Tornadus-T, Weavile, and Mega Pidgeot, as well as Mega Tyranitar and +1 Mega Gyarados. However, an Adamant nature can also be used for the chance to OHKO Landorus-T after Stealth Rock damage 87.5% of the time as well as always 2HKO physically defensive Landorus-T with Ice Punch, 2HKO mixed defensive Clefable, and 2HKO Skarmory after Stealth Rock damage. At +1, Adamant Mega Lopunny is guaranteed to 2HKO Hippowdon and Celebi and 2HKOes Chesnaught without having to use High Jump Kick and risk losing half its health to a Spiky Shield.

Dragalge is a pretty cool pick here. I like it, however I do think you'd benefit much more from the use of Latias. It provides Defog support, as well as a potential Healing Wish (if you do decide to not choose healing wish and Lopunny)! I am also recommending this because Weezing already carries toxic spikes.
380.gif

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock / Thunderbolt
- Healing Wish / Roost

598.png

The same thing with Gliscor. I would tweak the EVs slightly, evening out your defenses: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD. The given EV spread with a Relaxed nature lets Ferrothorn fare well against both physically and specially oriented opponents. 168 Special Defense EVs give Ferrothorn enough special bulk to survive two Ice Beams from +3 Manaphy. of course you can run a more physical defensive spread of 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD. It allows it to avoid the 2HKO from Adamant Life Orb Excadrill after Stealth Rock damage.

485.png

I feel the team is very Mega Charizard X weak so I would advise Quagsire. Unaware Quagsire easily stops its setup sweeps and has great defensive synergy with Ferrothorn.
195.gif

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Recover
- Toxic

It can Toxic stall in a sense, which I thing can fit your team well. As stated before, it has great defensive synergy with Ferrothorn! Quagsire's main objective is to keep your team safe from physical setup sweepers. Quagsire's Unaware allows the user to not worry as much about setup sweepers, so don't worry if one starts setting up on a teammate, as Quagsire can act as a fail safe. Scald is the move that should be used the most often, unless the opponent has a way of dealing with it, such as Water Absorb or Storm Drain, in which case Toxic is the most optimal choice. Against a Natural Cure user, your best bet is to switch into something which can deal with it. Remember, Quagsire absolutely hates status, so if you predict that the opponent will use a status move such as Will-O-Wisp or Toxic, don't hesitate to switch out. Quagsire needs to be at full health to switch in on physical attackers without the risk of being 2HKOed, so if possible, try to Recover before you switch out. Don't keep trying for a burn with Scald if you need to restore your health with Recover.

Hello, this section of my RMT is here because I do not want to make too many changes. here are some options you may want to consider. Of course, I have some threats to your team as well. These are threats I noticed right off the bat, and I have provided some tips you may find helpful when dealing with these threats. The potential additions have an explanation of what Pokemon it should be used over, why and a moveset(s). Feel free to consider these ideas if you feel the need to at some point!

494.gif
This could be added over Gliscor. It brings a more offensive presence and has momentum [via U-Turn]. I'll provide 2 potential movesets:

Victini @ Choice Band
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- V-create
- Bolt Strike
- Zen Headbutt / Brick Break
- U-turn

Victini @ Choice Scarf
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- V-create
- Bolt Strike
- U-turn
- Final Gambit / Zen Headbutt

Latios is a big threat to this team, having the possibility to KO a lot. Earthquake can hurt Heatran very hard, Hidden Power [Fire] and easily hurt Ferrothorn and its STABs can puncha big hole into the team. Scout the HP Fire by using Protect on Ferrothorn and switch to Latias. That Hidden Power makes Latios have 349 speed, which Latias can take advantage of (and OHKO with a Draco Meteor).

065.gif
Be it Mega Alakazam, revenge kill Alakazam or even Life Orb; this thing is a threat! Your best and almost only way of defeating this is bringing in Mega Lopunny safely, using Fake Out into Return.

Psychic types in general - Psychics greatly threaten your team, having access to great coverage and hitting lots of your mons hard. Try to bring in your Mega Lopunny and Latias as times. If you decide on Victini, U Turn should do a ton.

tl;dr
  • Weezing > Swalot
  • Tweak Gliscor EVs: 244 HP / 28 Def / 236 Spe
  • Power up Punch / Ice Punch / Healing Wish > Thunderpunch and Limber > Cute Charm.
  • Latias > Dragalge
  • Tweak Ferrothorn EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
  • Quagsire > Heatran

That is all I have! Cool team and good luck! :]

awesome i will try it out for sure! i know the mods are pretty strict about having lots of detail but i dont feel like writing a whole lot. but sure enough that is what i was looking for.

this is the team i want to use for competitive battling, so rated battles i guess you would call it. i plan to get this team on pokemon x, which may be an issue considering that M lopunny is ORAS. so idk, that throws things under the bus for me
