Building Process:
62.png

Well I always liked poliwrath because it looks cool and it really doesnt have that bad of stats and movepool. So i decided to build a team starting with this guy. I looked at what it resists and what its weak against and found a good partner in crime....
62.png
376.png

Metagross is a good duo with poliwrath, more so bulky then poliwrath and they both cover their weaknesses nicely. With these two all weaknesses are covered besides electric and ground, which is kinda scary because those are very common typings. So I decided on the third pokemon based on wanting to block both of those...

62.png
376.png
330.png

There we go, flygon is a perfect fit because its dragon and ice weaknesses are both covered by my previous two pokemon. So I was pretty much free to throw anything in here as my fourth, I looked up and noticed I was missing special attackers and raw speed. So i went with one of my favorites that packs both...

62.png
376.png
330.png
94.png

Now immediately I noticed the weakness I had against psychic types, although I wasn’t too worried about it I decided to use the two levitate pokemon I have to my advantage and put on a second steel type....

62.png
376.png
330.png

485.png

Heatran. Heatran is my second special attacker, and fits fairly well here. Noticing I had a lot of bulk already on the team I wasn’t too worried about having walls but I decided to throw in the next guy for entry hazards and stuff...

62.png

330.png

485.png
472.png

Everything looks good here got some entry hazards and stuff.
***
But then I noticed that swampert pretty much destroys this team. So I was like “oh energy ball on gengar and a focus sash will do fine,” but then I was like “oh what about the opponents entry hazard,” then I was like “I need a spinner.” Then I was like “Toxic spikes would also help incase gengar dies, so i can stall out a swampert and stuff.” So I chose....

Ya I know half my team is weak to psychic types, but I the other half resists it. So I think its a good choice. Although I could be wrong.

Old team in depth:
Lead:
485.png

Heatran @ Shucca Berry
Flash Fire
252 SpA, 4 SpD, 252 Spe
Timid
Stealth Rock
Fire Blast
Earth Power
HP Grass/Taunt

Heatran is a pretty good lead, can take hits from common lead and dish em back. Took off explosion because I will probably need heatran further down the rode, HP grass for swampert. Possibly taunt for smeargle leads. Really the best lead my team could come up with.

The Star:
62.png

Poliwrath @ Leftovers
Water Absorb
252 HP, 252 SpD, 4 Atk
Adamant
Bulk Up
Waterfall
Ice Punch
Rock Slide

Well the plan was to make Poli super bulky so it can take hits and heal up with drain punch butttt this fighting type doesn’t get drain punch. So..yeah. The set looks kinda stupid now, idk what to think now. Needs testing to see how he’ll fair, probably not very well.

This guy:
376.png

Metagross @ Iron Ball
Clear Body
236 HP, 252 Atk, 20 Spe
Adamant
Trick
Earthquake
Meteor Mash
Explosion

I went with the trick set because it looked fun and it can be surprising and very beneficial to my team. Trick on a zapdos or gengar and then just destroy them with earthquake. Very fun to play with.

This guy:
330.png

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
Adamant
252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 SpD
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Stone Edge
U-Turn

I really couldn't decide between this and a choice band variant, I put down chocie scarf because my team really lacks speed and scarf could prove to be more useful then band. I replaced outrage with dragon claw because since im scared outrage wouldnt be doing as much damage and it would just set up flygon to get easily revenge killed.

And this guy:
94.png

Gengar @ Focus Sash
Levitate
Modest
252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 SpD
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Energy Ball
Focus Blast

This guy is my anti-pert, went with modest for the damage output. 4 moves to pretty much do damage to everything, this guy will really come in handy after I’ve seen the whole opposing team. Get him a safe switch in and then predict the switch out. Love it.

And who could forget this guy:
73.png

Tentecruel @ Leftovers
Liquid Ooze
Calm
252 Hp, 120 Def, 136 SpD
Toxic Spikes
Rapid Spin
Surf
HP Electric

Everything is standard went with HP electric for starmie and gyara. Threw him in for the spin so my gengar doesn't get his focus sash broken. So ya.
Alright so I tested the above team in some battles, 4 to be exact. I went 3-1, which wasn't too bad. But my last loss came pretty much because of a gliscor, so I noticed that my team doesn't have enough power to take out bulky pokemon or at least do a significant amount of damage. So I went back to the drawing board, and tried to figure out what I wanted and what I didn't want. In this processs I ended up doing away with the poliwrath, gengar, and tentecruel.
Why:
Gengar: It did damage and I enjoy its strength but it doesn't seem to fit the team well.
Poliwrath: It takes hits well enough but it can't do damage without setting up and in a clutch match its too slow to set up.
Tentecruel: It did everything that tentecruel does I just took it out to make room for others.

I put some new guys in there, this is what I came up with:
New Team:
485.png
376.png
330.png
297.png
121.png
478.png

Building Process:
So as stated above I was left with:
485.png
376.png
330.png

I re-examined them and decided I didn't want heatran as the lead anymore, it just wasn't doing much there besides setting up rocks. So I needed a new lead....
485.png
376.png
330.png
478.png

Froslass, very versitle lead. Has entry hazards and is a bit of an anti lead in the current metagame. It's a very suprising lead, since it has a sash I need a new spinner. Since I'm looking for pokemon that can do damage....
485.png
376.png
330.png
478.png
121.png

Eventhough starmie is everywhere these days I need to use it, its a great spinner and can really dish out some hits. After I put starmie down I realized that I need something to dish out physical hits, a bulky fighting should suffice...
485.png
376.png
330.png
478.png
121.png
297.png

In depth:

Lead
478.png

Froslass @ Focus Sash
Snow Cloak
252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Timid

Ice Beam
Spikes
Destiny Bond
Taunt

This is the standard lead. It can cripple most leads due to it outspeading most leads, if the opponent starts off with something that can take my froslass I can switch to heatran as it resists everything that does damage to her. She will actually probably stay around for a while due to her weird typing and my ability to her switch her to things safetly. Her quick ice beam/destiny bond will probably come in handy mid to late game. It also doesn't hurt that she blocks rapid spin.

Destroyer
485.png

Heatran @ Choice Specs
Flash Fire
252 SpA, 216 Spe, 40 Hp
Modest

Overheat
Earth Power
HP Grass
Dragon Pulse

So with tran out of the lead spot I decided to make him a choice specs just because I want him to do a ridiculous amount of damage. Overheat for just that reason, a choice specs overheat does good damage even to those that resist it. Earth power for coverage and other trans that wanna eat my fire, hp grass for waters that wanna switch it and dragon pulse for everything else.

Trickster
376.png

Metagross @ Iron Ball
Clear Body
236 HP, 252 Atk, 20 Spe
Adamant

Earthquake
Meteor Mash
Trick
Stealth Rocks

I used this a bit in my battles and really liked it, even if the opponent doesn't have a zapdos or whatever I can still trick for a leftovers or life orb or something. Stealth rocks is here because I have a phaser and I want entry hazards.

Avenger
330.png

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 SpD
Adamant

Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Stone Edge
U-Turn

I still like the choice scarf set over the choice band, although I do have a lot of speed on the team now I might switch it over to a jolly choice band set. But that would mean EV training a whole new flygon :'(. Dragon Claw over Outrage so I don't get locked in and revenge killed, flygon has done what it has supposed to do and them some in the battles I have used it in.

Token Fighting Type
297.png

Hariyama @ Leftovers
Thick Fat
252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Def
Adamant

Fake Out
Whirlwind
Payback
Close Combat/Revenge

This is a set that I came up with, hariy is gonna be my phazer coming in on something that it would normally deal with and whirlwind on the switch. With rocks and spikes up this guy will be doing damage. Fake out for priority that I need on the team, payback and close combat for coverage. Revenge might be used over close combat just because its so god damn slow and the defense drops might hurt me if im in a bulky war.

Spinny
121.png

Starmie @ Life Orb
Natural Cure
252 Spe, 252 SpA, 4 HP
Timid

Hydro Pump
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Rapid Spin

Pretty standard here. Hydro pump over surf to deal damage to the incoming rotom that wants to come in and block my rapid spin, little does it know that this guy will at least 2HKO every rotom.

So yeah that's the new and hopefully improved team. Any thoughts or criticism will help a whole lot. So please say anything even if its small, I worked hard on this RMT this time around and don't want it to fall into LIMBO. :O

this looks like a nice team.
I just suggest you change poliwraths set because it won't be doing much damage.
This is what I suggest:

Poliwrath @ Leftovers
Water Absorb
252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Sp def
Adamant
Bulk Up
Waterfall
Brick Break/Ice punch
Hypnosis

With these evs , you take most attacks easily while using hypnosis. You then start using bulk up and then kill the opponents team when you think you have enough boosts with your two stab moves which have great coverage together. If dragon/flying types bother you too much you could use ice punch but you get a bit more power with brick break thats your choice.

Thanks, yeah that set is probably best although I don't like hypnosis, had bad luck with it even when it was at 70%. Ill take your set thoguh and try the hypnosis and the three move variant (ice punch in place of hypnosis)

Thanks again.

Gengar really should be running a different set. Focus Sash basically forces it to depend on Rapid Spin, and it needs a Timid nature to be able to pose a significant threat. Sleep leads like Roserade and Smeargle (if Heatran isn't using Taunt) are also problematic, considering that they force you to put one of your valuable team members to sleep. I think that it would be quite helpful to move Gengar to the lead position and use an Icy Wind set, which is relatively unexpected and effective.

Gengar (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Icy Wind
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Taunt

This is a great set. Gengar is rare as a lead, so many opponents will be caught off-guard by it. Icy Wind is especially useful for hitting faster leads such as Azelf and Aerodactyl, as well as nailing ScarfTar switch-ins. Shadow Ball and Focus Blast provide excellent type coverage, while Taunt shuts down slower leads' attempts at setting up. If Machamp leads become problematic, you can run Counter over Taunt to defeat them, but I find that they are becoming increasingly less common.

Flygon should have a Jolly nature with a moveset of U-turn / Outrage / Earthquake / Stone Edge. Having the extra speed that Jolly gives you is especially useful for winning speed ties against opposing Flygon, as well as outspeeding some variants of Agiligross. Dragon Claw may seem good as it doesn't lock you into attacking, but Outrage is absolutely necessary for revenge killing Dragonite and Kingdra, as well as cleaning late-game.

Good luck!

If I were you, I'd change the star of the show to Kerudio, because he's the exact same type, just with better stats all around, he's bulkier, better movepool, and a lot faster than Poliwrath. Tentacruel looks good. For Metagross, replace Trick for Stealth Rock because if an opposing Rapid Spinner does blow your stuff away, it might be a problem and Iron Ball's not that big of a deal anyways. And like someone else before me said, Gengar should be Timid if it were to be a serious threat, well, that person's right, because you may only sacrifice a little power, but you'll be gaining quite a bit of speed in the process. For Flygon, he's fine. For Heatran, use HP Grass for opposing Leadperts, Leadpowdons, and LeadTars.

Thanks this helps a lot, i plan on putting taunt on heatran. Ive decided to stay with an adamant flygon and go with the choice band set, if it doesnt work out ill switch it to the faster choice bretheren.

Although that gengar does seem nice, it does still leave me with a pretty big swampert weakness. I could toxic stall, thanks to toxic spikes but I really don't have any big stallers. Hmmmm.....

I'm thinking about replacing poliwrath with maybe a swampert or suicuine, something that phazes since ill have both stealth rock and toxic spikes up. I can be doing some significant damge just with that.

Any thoughts?
