RMT: Rain Dance (First timer)

Ok, I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to competitive stuff, but it fascinates me and I wanna get into it. I've come up with a rain dance team built for OU (I think?), and was curious if it was any good by any standards.

Changes made in bold

Crobat @ Damp Rock
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Hp
- Taunt
- Rain Dance
- Brave Bird
- U-Turn

Just there to taunt, dance, and turn to something more useful. Maybe he can kill like a Modest Celebi or some fighting type.

Bronzong @ Damp Rock
Nature: Impish
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252HP / 128Atk / 128Def
- Rain Dance
- Explosion
- Stealth Rock
- Hypnosis

A great wall and utility utilizer(?), Zong can Rain more, set up some rocks, sleep an enemy, and go boom when the need arises.

Ludicolo @ Life Orb
Nature: Modest
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Energy Ball
- HP Electric

A better special sweeper than wall, come to find, so my special sweeper is now Ludicolo. He can tear up pretty much anything that doesn't resist it's moves, or is named Blissey, and is usually faster than anything important.

Toxicroak @ Life Orb
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Stone Edge

My favourite part of this team. This guy is such a little beast, just don't let him hang around Psychics and Earthquakes. The Rain negates Dry Skin I think, so Fire isn't as much of an issue. Just set up a sub on a switch and he's set.

Kabutops @ Life Orb
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Swift Swim (Of Course)
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Atk / 184 Spe
- Swords Dance
- Aqua Tail
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor

One cool Poke. Kabutops is my physical sweeper, and with a SD and Swift Swim, a force to be reckoned with. Aqua Tail and Stone Edge provide great STAB'd coverage, and X-Scissor can take out pesky grass types raining on his parade. Plus kill of psychics aimed at Toxicroak.

Jolteon @ Damp Rock
Nature: Timid
EV's: 252 HP / 24 SpA / 232 Spe
- Thunder
- Wish
- Rain Dance
- Heal Bell

WAY better than Raikou, and one fast healer too. Almost always gets to do what he needs to before switching, and can absorb electric attacks aimed for anyone else on the team.

Big thanks to all the help! :)

Ok. One huuuuge flaw in your team: You need more Rain Dancers.
Rain Dance will only last 8 turns, which is a rather short time.

On my own Rain Dance team, every single 'mon I had had Rain Dance, including the sweepers. Generally it's a good plan to have two midgame RDers, and a RD lead.

Might I suggest, in place of Raikou:

Jolteon @ Damp Rock
Timid
252 HP / 24 SpA / 232 Spe
-Thunder
-Wish
-Rain Dance
-Signal Beam/Heal Bell

You don't need Raikou; he's a decent sweeper when he sets up but you have to keep in mind you don't have /time/ to set up. You need to take down your opponent before the rain stops.

Bibarel is a good wall breaker and an interesting choice for the team, but I suggest you replace Yawn with RD. You're not making a stall team, so you don't need to force switches.

Change Ludicolo to:
@ Life Orb
Modest
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 HP
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Energy Ball
-HP Electric/Rain Dance
Imho, Ludicolo makes a better Special sweeper then a wall.

Finally, you may want to reconsider Black Sludge on Toxicroak. Try Life Orb; under the rain Croak will be regaining some of the damage lost by the recoil.

That's my 2c. Good luck!

I suggest removing Bibarel, it's NU for a reason. A more sturdy wall that can set up rain with ease would be:
Bronzong @ Damp Rock
252HP, 128Atk, 128Def EV's (Impish Nature)
~ Rain Dance
~ Explosion
~ Stealth Rock
~ Reflect/Hypnosis

It can also assist your team by putting up defenses, putting an enemy to sleep (aka free switch in) and can take another one out (explosion). It also has sturdier defenses than Bibarel.

@howlingwolf, Thank you very much for all of your input man. I love the idea of Jolteon as a super fast cleric, and good point about the multiple RD users. With Ludicolo sweeping he would be using Swift Swim correct? I did consider Life Orb on Croak, but between making subs and the recoil I thought he might need extra Hp, but now that you mention it that wouldn't matter since its all about time for the Rain. Thanks again!

@comatthew6, Extremely convincing points about Zong, and I think he would end up helping my team more than Bibarel ever would, so I'll find some use for him on a different team. Thank you so much for the help!
