[RMT] Reckless Offense

Hello, if you're reading this then great thank you for your time since this is my first rmt. This team is what I came up after long hours of assembling reckless teams that fail to execute what I planned. After those long hours I thought that why need a strategy when you could just attack. So I assembled the most succesful team I had so far (even though it only peaked at 1417 on the CRE). Im kinda proud of this but I need help since after a few days I could'nt climb the ladder at all anymore(Im stuck at 1300....). Though the presentation is standard at best I didnt want to use complicated fonts since I might screw up.

I generally used a very elementary approach, 3 physical attackers and 3 special. It turned out solid but the special side is walled dead by blissey and I generally need an answer for her. The team breaks walls well and it doesnt get runned through by DD dancers, provided they only have +1 speed. The main issue is lack of stealth rock since I dont know where to put it without slowing down the team.

Well enough of that here's the team:

068.png

Machamp @ Lum Berry
No Guard
244HP/252Atk/12Spe
Adamant
-Dynamic Punch
-Payback
-Ice Punch
-Bullet Punch

Standard Lead Champ here with the added speed against those other lead champs. Machamp starts off the match nicely and dents every standarn lead imaginable. The only lead that could be troublesome would the scarfrichi lead due to its unpredictability. I always love my opponent switching in to rotom to status this since the first time it statuses I see the move, if rotom t-waves I switch into flygon, if it will-o-wisps great I have a free sub in heatran. The set's standard but I chose Ice Punch against those gliscor leads and hippowdon leads who could be troublesome.

330.png

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
4HP/252Atk/252Spe
Jolly
-U-turn
-Earthquake
-Outrage/Dragon Claw
-Stone Edge/Thunderpunch

Flygon acts as a 4 in one package. First it absorbs electric attacks especially thunder wave. He scouts early in the game so I could peek at the opponents team abit. Third is that he checks so much threats that could ruin my team so badly, DDdos, DD mence, agiligross and the likes. Last is that he could afford a sweep late in the game when all the bulky pokes get demolished or have already fainted. Im not really sure about stone edge or thunder punch though, thunder punch checks dos easily but fails to kill mence but the accuracy of edge always fail me. The other moves are pretty standar, U-Turn for scouting, EQ for a general stab that checks alot of pokemon. Though Im a bit iffy about outrage since I hate getting set-up on and getting locked into it that Im actually considering running a Dragon Claw but that couldnt sweep late game, help?

490.png

Heatran @ Life Orb
Flash Fire
4HP/252Spe/252SpA
Timid
-Substitute
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-Hidden Power Grass

Unorthodox set at best. This thing switches into early will-o-wisps and revenge killing against machamp and sets up a substitue while the pokemon runs away. This thing dents everything not blissey and really hurts even its counters like Gyarados and Mence. Fire Blast burns everything after receiving a flash fire boost, earth power against those opposing heatrans switching on to me thinking Im scarfed and HP grass against thos bulky waters trying to wall me. The only thing gives this set a concern is Blissey and I cant afford running explosion due since substitute is the key this set and I need to relly on the team against the pink egg. Suggestions here?

121.png

Starmie @ Life Orb
Natural Cure
4HP/252Spe/252SpA
Timid
-Recover/Grass Knot/Rapid Spin ( not really sure here, help? )
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Hydro Pump

God I love LO starmie, it dents so much pokemon that it actually nets me 2 kills at least and can even sweep late in the game. Its so versatile and you would need a dedicated pursuiter to kill this thing and it can dent Tyranitar or Scizor with Hydro Pump before it dies. The only that gives this set a problem is Blissey(god I hate that thing) since bolts are absorbed by Flygon and random shit like shadow ball and grass knots give heatran or breloom a set-up opportunity. Im not really sure to run Recover, Grass Knot or Rapid Spin since all of them prove to be very useful. Another option is that I should run expert belt instead of LO but I kinda miss out the KO's on common switch-ins like scizor.

286.png

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
248HP/252Atk/8Spe
Adamant
-Spore
-Substitute
-Focus Punch
-Seed Bomb/Stone Edge

This thing saved me so much I feel kinda bad relying on it too much. Breloom acts as my answer to those special walls the plague my team so much at the same time damaging anything in the process with either spore or my attacks. I usually save this for mid game for some wallbreaking fun and absorbing sleep since my entire team hates sleep. The only that concerns me is that this thing can actually give Mence a set-up opportunity and I hate getting locked into outrage to revenge kill it. The move-set is the standard spore puncher set that nets me a few KOs or can sweep late in the game when all the fast frail pokemons have fainted.

dpmfb395.png

Empoleon @ Life Orb
Torrent
100HP/156Spe/252SpA
Modest

-Agility
-Ice Beam
-Surf
-Grass Knot

Probably the most replaceable member of the team. This spot is generally a filler and I really don't know what to do here. Empoleon's great and yes it did sweep a few times but Im not really sure its the best pokemon in this spot. I needed another special attacker to complete my 3 physical 3 special theme but I couldnt fit stealth rock anywhere. The moves here are pretty basic, all I need is to set-up agility then begin attacking. Surf for a convineint stab and it deals massive damage to everything after a torrent boost. ice beam for dragons and celebis switching in trying to stop me. and grass knot rounds off the coverage against bulky waters who can stop this set cold.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope my team and presentation isnt that bad. Ive been lurking around here for a really long time now and I finally had the courage and effort to post my RMT. I appreciate any kind of feedback and suggestions and I thank you for that.

nice team
if you're worried about blissey, which is kinda hard to imagine, especially since you have breloom, and machamp if he survives, you could give heatran a shuca berry and explosion over substitute. this lets you lure in and kill blissey, salamence and gyarados

If you're really concerning about Blissey, you could use Substitute + Pain Split Gengar.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP | 252 SpA | 252 Spe

  • Shadow Ball
  • Focus Blast
  • Substitute
  • Pain Split
This set drains Blissey dramatically, easily bringing it into the 2HKO range with Pain Split. Here's the exact words from the Smogon analysis.

Smogon said:
The combination of Substitute and Pain Split allows Gengar to take out Pokémon it normally would not be able to, most notably Blissey. After Substitute and two Pain Splits (or one if sandstorm is in effect), Blissey's health will low enough so that Focus Blast is a 2HKO. This means that Blissey will be forced to constantly heal herself or risk being KOed. Pain Split has 32 PP, while Wish and Softboiled have 16, meaning that Gengar can easily stall Blissey out. If Blissey does not use a healing move to conserve PP, then she is at huge risk of being 2HKOed by Focus Blast. Finally, most Blissey are unable to break Gengar's Substitutes, meaning it can usually come out of the duel unscathed.

I notice the lack of Stealth Rock on this team, which is a serious problem. Gyarados and Salamence can switch in as much as they want, Intimidate your Pokemon, then switch back out.

I would personally suggest getting rid of Empoleon and substituting it with a Stealth Rock Lead. I suppose Azelf could fit the bill, or Uxie. Either one helps to draw out Scizor, who can switch into Bullet Punch and set up a Substitute on the switch.

Change Machamp from a then Anti-Lead Machamp to a different set. Perhaps Substitute Machamp?

I would change Hidden Power [Grass] for Toxic. With Toxic, you're still hitting Swampert, as well as Gyarados, Salamence, Vaporeon, and whole bunch of other Pokemon that don't like being Badly Poisoned.

Just one question. Why would Rotom-A being trying to inflict Status on Anti-Lead Machamp? Everyone knows that Anti-Lead Machamp has a Lum Berry, so it'd be a waste of a turn to use Will-o-wisp or Thunder Wave. I would go straight for Thunderbolt or Shadow Ball.

you shoudl use recover on starmie over grass knot and rapid spin, because you dont really need a spinner since most of your pokemon resist stealth rock, and recover can recover up the damage lost from your life orb.

Hello, I got your PM and of course I won't mind rating the team!

You're pretty weak to stall, as all of your pokemon are merely physical and special attackers. I have a couple of ideas.

Give Starmie Rapid Spin and Recover over Ice Beam and Grass Knot. This handles stall very well and is actually only walled by Blissey on most stall teams.

Also, get rid of Empoleon for Taunt Gliscor, who is a potent stallbreaker and who can set up your SR, which this team needs so desperately.

That's all I got. Great team, hope I helped.

heatran CAN actually run explosion. The thing about it is, no person in their right minds would think that a pokemon would kill itself behind a substitute, so explosion can take out blissey like this.

You said that breloom is set up bait for salamence, and i think that cbscizor is a good replacement for empoleon.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Technician
Adamant
~ U-turn
~ Bullet Punch
~ Superpower
~ Pursuit / Quick Attack
248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe

So, it doesn't matter how many dd's mence gets in your face, so you can easily pick it off with this guy. Also, if breloom is behind a sub, it will do between 32.6% - 38.4% damage. If it decides to set up, you can focus punch again to guarantee the OHKO with scizor. Also, it gets great synergy with heatran, so tran can come in on fire attacks directed towards scizor, then set up.

I just felt the need to say this: Scizor is not a Salamence counter. It is a check at best, and even then, you need Stealth Rock damage and one turn of Life Orb recoil to get the OHKO.

I also just noticed that, as rare of a threat it is, Choice Scarf Salamence completely rips this team to shreds. Draco Meteor hits Machamp, Starmie, and Flygon for massive damage, Breloom would be taken out by Draco Meteor or Fire Blast, and Earthquake hits both Heatran and Empoleon.

It may be an uncommon threat, but it wouldn't hurt to prepare for it. I suggest handing Starmie a Choice Scarf, seeing as you don't especially need Rapid Spin on this team. The most common Entry Hazard is Stealth Rock, and it doesn't hit this team particularly hard. Choice Scarf Starmie would be able to check Salamence, Gyarados, cripple Blissey, and counter quite a few other things.

Starmie @ Choice Scarf
Nature: Timid
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP | 252 SpA | 252 Spe

  • Hydro Pump
  • Ice Beam
  • Thunderbolt
  • Trick
This set also damages Tyranitar quite badly, should it switch into Hydro Pump. With Choice Scarf, you'll out-speed, and get the 2HKO, and you can Trick away your Scarf onto a Blissey to take it out of the match.

I think that Empoleon should be swapped for a stallbreaker Gliscor with Taunt/Earthquake/Stealth Rock/Roost.

This gives you Stealth Rock and an answer to stall.

Explosion over HP grass on Heatran is possiable and can allow you to beat Blissey.

Have a Nice Day!

Thanks for all the rates, I really appreciate it.

I'll try all the suggestions especially stallbreaker gliscor (how did that escape me?). The heatran suggestions are all nice especially the explosion over HP grass since it nets the same KO's I could get. The scarf starmie is set is something I have yet to try out but I'll test it soon. CBzor is something I always avoid since every single team(including mine) use it as a potential set-up bait, though I'll try that too.

I'll update the team later, thanks again.

Guys I tried the stallbreaker gliscor recently then I ran into this Mamoswine who KO'ed half my team with ice shard :( Help please...

Short or running a Gyarados or Scizor on the team then you will very likely have issues with it. Infernape cannot switch in but can outspeed and KO it.
