XY NU RMT Regigigas Has a use

So this is my first RMT, please rate and give suggestions.

Xatu @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Night Shade
- U-turn
- Thunder Wave
- Roost
Xatu, my lead, or should I say the 5 moves of doom. I use Thunder Wave to slow down the faster leads and then use Night Shade. I have Roost for the semi-stall against some of the other leads. I typically use it if I want to draw out the spikes or stealth rock from the other leads. U-Turn is used to get out of there quickly if the Pokemon is not a lead and I go into whatever Pokemon I feel is good enough to take it on at the time.

Ariados @ Scope Lens
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Night Slash
- Cross Poison
- Toxic Spikes
- Sticky Web
So you guys have all heard of insta-crit Kingdra in UU right, well my Ariodos fits that role on this team. With sniper and Scope lens this guy has crits up the Web Shooter, especially with Night slash and Cross Poison, this guy, if he gets the chance can be a force on the team. Especially if he is the one who gets the baton pass from Ninjask.

Regigigas @ Leftovers
Ability: Slow Start
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Confuse Ray
- Substitute
- Thunder Wave
- Return
The Star of the team, by far one of the best pokes if he gets the chance, Regigigas, the destroyer. He uses the classic stall Gigas set but whats different is I use Ninjask to baton pass to this guy most of the time, and if it gets the X4 speed alone this guy can just stall you out until slow start goes away in which it can destroy your whole team with Return, but if this guy gets off x2 attack or over, the sweeping can start from there. Now of course this guy gets wrecked from Ghost types which is why I have the other 2 guys I can pass too, (Ariados and the gator). So yeah.

Ninjask @ Leftovers
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Protect
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass
The troll, the king, the pawn, the bait, the fodder, all names used for this pokemon. this guy is by far the one member of the team that I need to make Regigigas useful. If this guy dies, it is over, I basically lost 2 pokes for the price of one with that. But I think the reward is worth the risk with this guy. If I get the pass of to Regigigas then the real game begins. Of course though, I have backups.

Typhlosion @ Choice Specs
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Eruption
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Extrasensory
Typhlosion, one of my favorite pokemon, and in my opinion the god of all starters. This little guy has saved me an insane amount of times in battles. This guy can change the course of battles in seconds with his Stab eruption at full health, even taking down water types. Of course I would love to be able to use it without Choice specs but what can you do.

Feraligatr @ Life Orb
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
The last member, only added to help with sweeping and deal with Typhlosions. This guy is one of my backups if I can't use Regigigas for the baton pass. Great against Typhlosions with the x4 speed after the baton pass, this guy can wreck house and look awesome while doing it. Another reason I added it, it reminds me of my home state Louisiana.

Hi, let me make some suggestions for your team :) for starters it seems like it could really benefit from hazard suppot. You have typhlosion and ninjask which really do need hazard support, and xatu isn't going to cut it all of the time. I suggest going for Archeops > Ariados. Ariados ironically slows down your team, despite sticky web lol. It's webs arent really need too much, most of your mons are already fast and you have DDance feraligatr and baton pass ninjask, so webs aren't too important. Archeops with defog, roost, acrobatics and stone edge will help you check typhlosion and mantine (which walls typhlosion and feraligatr). It also serves as a switch in to kangaskhan which gives your team a few problems and means you have something to rely on as an attacker when your ninjask goes down and you can't setup with regi. I'd recommend going no item on it too, as it makes acrobatics stronger and it means you can absorb some knock offs. Also, on xatu change the EV's to 248 hp, 252 defense, 8 spdef bold and use a rocky helmet. It works better for the team and set you're running and helps deal with kangskhan's fake out. Ninjask should be using a focus sash because of terrible bulk and should be 252 attack, 252 speed 4 spdef adamant with at least one attack over substitute (you don't want to lose because your ninjask didn't have an attack) Sub isn't needed since regi already has one and you don't want to break the sash, adamant because it has enough speed already. Other than that, good team dude :] I hope I helped.

2 thing so far from my testing, 1, the archeops works perfectly, and 2, the ninjask with the attack doesn't work as well as the one with sub.

Hi Wyatt Sage and first off welcome to Smogon!

So to start off when I'm looking at your team I see a lot of Pokemon that are sub-par in the NU metagame and while it is fine to build your team around one of them I wouldn't recommend building a team around 3 of them. To start off Regigigas really is a sub par Pokemon held back due to its ability, Slow Start. It falls in line with other Pokemon such as Slaking which on the surface with there seemingly amazing stats look like fantastic Pokemon to build a team around; however, when put into practice they tend to hold your team back and there are much better physical Normal-type Pokemon in NU. Passing any Pokemon +2 attack and +6 speed can pretty much ensure a sweep and to have to wait for 5 turns for your opponent to wear you down or phaze you out is not worth it when you can immediately start sweeping with boosts.

Kangaskhan (F) @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Double-Edge
- Sucker Punch
- Earthquake
Kangaskhan is an amazing Pokemon in the NU metagame providing utility with dual priority and hitting ridiculously hard with Silk Scarf Double-Edge. It gets neutral coverage with Earthquake and is a great addition to any team. You can also use Return over Double-Edge for no recoil and Drain Punch over Earthquake for some HP recovery. Along with running a faster max speed spread.

Swellow @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Facade
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Quick Attack
Swellow is a fast paced hard hitting Normal-type that hits ridiculously hard between its two STABs, it has Uturn to pivot out on forced switches and against Steel-types an priority in Quick Attack. Unfortunately it gets hard walled by Rock and Steel-types, but with Uturn you can switch out accordingly. Pursuit can be used over Quick Attack to trap opposing Ghost-types.

Zangoose @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Toxic Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Facade
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Quick Attack
Zangoose is another Normal-type boosted by a status orb; however, it is held back by its decent speed. It finds its way on to Stick Web teams due to the fact that the webs can help compensate for its average speed.

Tauros (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Rock Climb
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Fire Blast
Tauros is a really cool mon in NU, criminally underrated and has cool coverage. It hits quite hard with STAB Rock Climb which is boosted through Sheer Force and Life Orb. The rest of the moves are for coverage and Fire Blast is used to hit Steel-types and Grass-types on the special side, otherwise they would Hardwall Tauros.

I'm leaving the choice to sub Regigigas out to w/e Pokemon up to you, I just provided you with 4 much better Pokemon to choose from. I personally would use Kangaskhan > Regigagas. Pretty much switch it out for a better normal type.
Next up is Ariados, Ariados is a mediocre Pokemon overall being totally outclassed as a physical sweeper by multiple mons in the meta and being primarily outclassed by Kricketune as a Sticky Web setter. Seeing as you aren't going for a Sticky Web team I think Ariados needs to go; however, I do not agree with the above users suggestion to switch out Ariados for Archeops.
Lead sashed Archeops with defog, roost, acrobatics and stone edge will help you check typhlosion and mantine (which walls typhlosion and feraligatr)
I think the user edited their post to take out Lead sashed Archeops, but Archeops should never be used with Focus Sash and Acrobatics together. Instead I believe you should have Specially Defensive Steelix > Ariados as right now you have no ground immunity and you need something that doesn't get absolutely destroyed by the prevelant Rotom forms.
208.png

Steelix @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Heavy Slam
- Roar
A quick note on Steelix is that it can check both special and physical attackers. I agree with the above user that you should use a Defensive Xatu because it can switch in on common hazard setters a lot more easily. Which means that Xatu can more easily fulfill the role you want it to.

Next up is Ninjask which while it might seem like a good boost passer for you team is not. It compounds your weakness to Rock-types and Stealth Rock even further and finds little opportunity to set up against good players. For that reason I am going to suggest Gorebyss > Ninjask as you are able to find more opportunites to set up with Gorebyss and it simultaneously boosts offensive stats opening the door for multiple recipients (you could also even go with a Stored Power Xatu if you really wanted to lol). Gorebyss unfortunately can only realistically boost once with Shell Smash due to the reliance on White Herb, but Ninjask rarely finds an opportunity to boost twice as well.
368.png

Gorebyss @ White Herb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shell Smash
- Baton Pass
- Surf
- Ice Beam
So there were a lot of suggested changes in this rate, but overall I think that the changes helped your team for the better. You still have the same basic idea for your team so I hope I helped ^.^

Yes sorry mont i forgot to edit the lead sash part out. I tried to help stick with his original mons as much as possible but i guess thats doesnt help if theyre bad lol. Anyway mont covered it all, good luck fren :]
